whats the best movies to watch high?
Whats the best movies to watch high?
...
That's his weakest movie. In fact, I think everything from around that era is his weak shit. I got ten minutes into it and it felt like a super tacky Martin Lawrence movie, like those films that were made just so the shitty director could make a few bucks.
Seen this more times than I would like to know. Perfect movie. Not kino, not film, not a flick, but a fun movie. Hollywood needs to learn.
>That's his weakest movie.
Considering he has like 50 movies and half of them are completely unwatchable, that's pretty far from the truth.
>that ending
holy fuck my sides
Same here, still has the same feeling every time i watch it and i dont even like alot of woodey's movies
It's made for you to recognise several famous writers/artists and that's it basically. I watched all of it and it certainly was pretty tacky.
thank fuck i thought i was the only one
The Color of Pomegranades
Yes, that's the kind of thing I like to watch high.
I used to smoke a lot of weed and then watch movies back in the days.
Generally, a good movie will be a good movie to watch high.
Sci-fi gets bonus points though
I'd say serious, violent movies are better watched sober or with a few beers than with weed.
This movie has similar vibes. Nice color palette, likeable owen, good structure. I only watched it once, while me and a buddy were getting fried, and we both laughed our asses off. The ending pissed him off, but i kinda liked it. Especially good if you know bogdanovich's work.
This guy has it. Animatrix, OP.
aww maayne i wish i had a weedbro again
good times
cheers for the rec
sci-fi and fantasy are the shit high
drama / thriller seems like some lame shit
obligatory DUDE
>sci-fi/fantasy/drama/thriller are all shit
Dude, you should really stop smoking so much weed, it's giving you brain damage
>reading comprehension
and you call me brain damaged
BACKFIRE BACKFIRE
i liked this. idk, i watch all movies high but i guess i enjoy action/scifi the best while under the influence.
>nuts to the squirrels
>jennifer aniston with a whistle
>that old stalker
so fuckin funny.
I'll be your weedbro user
:3
a-are you redpilled?
I'm gonna keep posting good dialogue comedies I watch over and over.
i just cant get into that movie no matter how many times i try
What that is
The ending is the highest point of cinema in this century.
Marty is the man
So fucking good isnt it.
Is there any other movies he's made that come close?
i liked Blue Jasmines
Did you take the red pill, or the blue pill?
...
Never saw the matrix.
YESSSSSSS
I love Sisyphus style movies.
Inside Llewyn Davis is excellent also
Inception.
Superbad.
John Dies at the End.
Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle.
Dazed and Confused.
I mean shit man. Everything is better high.
Call me a pleb. Everything I just listed I love to watch.
>Millennial
>on Cred Forums
>Never saw the matrix
i only ever saw it sober/drunk
Get baked as fuck and watch it bro
Hell yeah!
>mfw i 'get' this
>mfw nobody else outside of 'critics' got it.
>audience hated it
kek
Its really a film for connoisseurs, buffs and nerds
Probably a good idea, I liked v for vendetta and cloud atlas, I don't care how weird those wachowskis are, they made some decent stuff.
Well v and atlas took the same concept from the matrix and turned it up to 11
Watch the first movie a couple of times even.
2 and 3 dont really add anything to the series that hasnt already been done, still interesting to watch.
Animatrix is really good as well, watch it inbetween Matrix 1 and 2/3
Everyone I showed it to liked it, sister, weedbro, ex-girlfriend. Just a fun movie, they could have marketed it like Who Framed Roger Rabbit and it would have been a hit
None of their later works hold a candle to the first Matrix.
yeah marketing done goofed.
i like ligher tone coen movies they are just comfy as all fuck
This it was a huge cultural force as well
peak 1999 movie making
This has some funny parts and Greta is really cute.
Crimes and Misdemeanors is very funny. I once told a female therapist of viewing a scene where Allen's fictional sister gets tied to a bed and shitted on. She looked at me with a blank look as if it wasn't fucking hilarious and asked me "What's funny about that?"
This movie was funny as hell.
The coens are masters of comfy. Altman, woody, Scorsese, linklater, apatow and Anderson give me similar vibes. Anybody recomendations or lesser known works?
damn some real good taste in this thread. I'll add 8½, Apocalypse Now, and Triplets of Belleville.
Plz no its so bad
Jeff Nicols earlier stuff is great
And later stuff as well
>Apocalypse Now
>dat young Morpheus
>dat amazing story behind the film
Yus
fucking excellent thread indeed
8 1/2 :)
Glad to see good taste. I loved La Dolce Vita and La strata too.
Now I need to get some weed and watch Apocalypse Now... Awesome idea duude.
but the matrix is amazing and revolutionized special effects. it doesnt mean their other work isnt good its just how DO u hold a candle to the matrix its a perfect film
I been smokin and getting xaned out watching this. Good vibes.
Comfy as fuck
Anybody lurking? I have more recs.
It intentionally captures nostalgia perfectly. Not even just in the story but just the way it's shot and the fact that it takes place in Paris of course. It's probably the comfiest movie I've ever watched. I love that and Vicky, Cristina, Barcelona. Woody really knows how to romanticize foreign countries.
pls
Classic woody at it again.

I'd be bored out my mind watching that high
It's the only way not to get bored watching it lol
>Mfw I convinced my friend to watch The Second Renaissance while he was tripping on acid.
He said he thought he was going to die. He was freaking the fuck out and couldn't figure out how to turn it off. Shit was hilarious.
That's just cruel. It's traumatizing as fuck when you're sober.
i think i'd have to be drunk desu
...
Going into this I wasn't expecting anything that great but I can say confidently that it's certainly in my top 5 for the year.
