Death by Hanging

...

It's just funny to me how that giant monster is destroying everything on its path, yet the persons below, worried about any possible pathogens that may come from the monster, think that a mask will be of any use.

Fucking nerds.

...

Just downloaded this
what am i in for

anything kurosawa obviously

my favs are:
1. throne of blood
2. yojimbo / sanjuro
3. hidden fortress

also from that time and pretty good:
harakiri
inagaki's miyamoto musashi movies

out of newer movies not much comes to mind. never enjoyed any miike movies 2bh.

nobody knows & depatures would get a rec.

>BOI
Shit, that reminds me, I forgot to include House in my monthly viewings. Maybe there'll be time when I finish my marathon.

I'd never seen it. I was looking forward to it.

That's not why they are wearing the mask.

>harakiri
>"pretty good"

JAV
japan is only good for its women

sorry, its amazing. bad use of words there :)

Why don't you play in Hell

It's about a bunch of failed high school film makers making a film for the yakuza

Pokemon
Pokemon 2
Pokefuck; The Pokemon Porno

Mise En Scene was amazing in pokefuck, the use of dutch angles is really distracting though.

Why is Japan so comfy?

...

...

Takeshi Kitano stuff
Sion Sono stuff
Hideki Anno live action stuff

>Tokyo Story
Watched this tonight, it was amazing.

Anything by Ozu or Kurosawa.

After Life
The Face of Another
Woman in the Dunes
Harakari
Funeral Parade of Roses

Diabotsu Toge

Saw Nomura's The Demon recently and liked it.

...

Watched pic related last week. It was pretty interesting, would recommend. Not 100% japanese in terms of the people involved behind the scenes but oh well

Check out some of these lesser known filoms by the masters:

Street of Shame - Mizoguchi
Scattered Clouds - Naruse
Madadayo - Kurosawa
Basara: Princess Goh - Teshigahara
Ballad of Orin - Shinoda

If you need help finding Japanese kino just follower Takemitsu's scores.

13 Assassins
Without a shadow of a doubt in my mind

Tampopo youtu.be/L9m6FoSw4jE

Perhaps not Teshigahara's most technically accomplished work. But definitely my favourite.

Japanese people can't act
They just can't
99% of the movie is the direction

Anime?

youtu.be/IiOADyYkLRM

this music videdo

Sword of Doom

That's an impressive amount of vomit. Like, wow, how does all that even fit in there?

watch more films nerd

what did you like about it?

a national god damned treasure

...

that was korean wasnt it?

Yamada Koji

The only reason it's not a movie is they didn't have enough money for actors and real studios.

does anyone have the b&w cinegrid with a gravestone in the rain? the title might have contained "angel" ??

>Departures

seconded

The Human Condition

>japanese film
commit sudoku

There are no good Jap films. Nips are incapable of doing live action

So fucking good

...

Why such a slanted comment? That's the start of a slope if I ever saw one.

You posted it OP.

underrated mishimakino right there

Pic related is essential trapkino, screenplay by Mishima (who also has a cameo)

...

Is Kitano kino?

pic related, A Scene at the sea. my favorite of his early 90 work

...

The Face of Another

this

fucking one of my fave movies ever

A page of Madness
Noroi
Pulse
Cure
13 Assassins
High and Low
Throne of Blood
Red Beard
Tokyo Sonata
Harakiri
Suicide Club
Swallowtail Butterfly

This is movie is 10/10 imo, Teshigahara's best work. i've only seen this and women in dunes

Pitfall completes the trilogy user
, a loose one though

might give it a watch tonight deciding whether to torrent that or house

House.

Same poster, check Hausu since its October

Nah man, theres nothing quite like Hausu

The way it portrays the melancholy of family relations, as well as the quirks one can take for granted, or even forget entirely. It steers towards a resolution throughout, but in the end it's only partial resolution, and it ends on that note despite the tragedy of such shortcomings. This I believe is entirely relatable to anyone with any semblance of family relations (or even lack thereof), and, as such, brought me to a sullen realization at the film's end, one which had never crossed my mind prior.

I dunno, she has a really old looking face.

10/10 bod tho

Gojira (1954)
