Go to netflix

>go to netflix
>feel like watching a horror
>literally every movie is rated with 1 star except maybe a few which have 2
>mfw

are there any decent ones on there worth watching? i thought horror being a dead genre was just a meme

the star ratings are based on your preferences, if you haven't watched a certain genre they tend to be low

wrong

Ah, didnt know that. Well id still like this thread to be about people suggesting some good horror on netflix

the babadook

uk netflix has the best horror for some reason

Jaws. Last time I checked, they had the Exorcist. Things might be different now, though.

explain how it's wrong when it's completely factual

the ratings are based off of things you've watched already and the rating is skewed if you tend to avoid a genre

I feel like horror is one of those genres where you shouldn't pay much mind to ratings

Isn't Hush on there? Not a bad slasher. Has a 10/10 redhead in it and a scene near the end actually made me feel. I'm a massive faggot, though.

Memeadook and It Memes are only just okay.

The Thing is pretty good.
I've only seen the old one, can't speak about the new one

Watch Lake Mungo. There's about 50/50 chance you'll like it. It scared the living shit out of me and I don't get scared often. But lots of people find it boring.

I think I saw american werewolf in london on there.

He's actually correct. The star ratings are based on everything else you have viewed and watched in the past, sorted by algorithms to try and give you a more personalized recommendations.

horror is a pleb genre, there are good horror elements in other kind of movies, like mulholland drive for example

I've been having the same issue. I did just watch Creep with Mark Duplass though, which I lightly recommend. Mark does a stellar job with that role.

Why is every netflix original show always 5 stars? I have never watched anything they made.

>Jaws
>horror

>Why is every netflix original show always 5 stars?
I'm almost positive you can figure that one out all on your own, sweetheart.

You know why.

netflix's stars are based on their similarity to your viewing habits, not reviews dumbshit

why do you think you can't rate things?

>horror being dead

Horror has been full of goofy, schlock bullshit since the fucking 40's. The classics of the genre have always been diamonds in the rough.

Its a pretty apt description user. Its a slasher flick, except the slasher is a giant fish. Fuck I refused to go in the ocean for years as a kid because of that god damned movie.

the jews?

yeah

Late Phases is good, it's about a blind vet and werewolves. Personally I also liked Starry Eyes but the acting of the supporting cast are mainly just typical horror archetypes.

Same with comedy. "Laugh at this, this is funny!" comedies are terrible, but unexpected comedic moments in other genres are funny.

Watch thrillers/mysteries/science fiction with moments of creepiness.

the thing is the best horror movie ever
prove me wrong

Because their user ratings

They have some classickino on there.

>why do you think you can't rate things?
lol you can tho

This was a surprise. I really like that movie.

wow, what a unique opinion you have there user.

also: They're

We offer thousands of titles to stream -- that’s a lot! When you rate movies and TV shows, you're helping us filter through the thousands of selections to get a better idea of what you'd like to watch.

How does it all work? We use a recommendation algorithm that takes certain factors into consideration, such as:

The genres of movies and TV shows available.
Your streaming history, and previous ratings you’ve made.
The combined ratings of all Netflix members who have similar tastes in titles to you.

Im still working on the movie guys.

I watched Hellraiser on Netflix the other day. Fuckin' classic.
That's the only good horror I could find.

Well, I wouldn't be surprised if they were involved.

Hellraiser 2 is on there as well.

>Japanese cartoon porn picture
>doesn't consider one of the only truly dread inducing movies ever made to be horror
How do we eliminate you people

Do not watch this OP. Why would you even recommend this? Boring, extremely predictable, and very lazily written plot wise. They could have at least made the dude a crazy fan or something but no just some scrawny white dude in the woods for some reason with a knife

So THAT'S why I have 3 rows of LGBT related suggestions.

Fuck off, animefag.

shit

great

That's not the exorcist

Complete boring dogshit with the worst child actor of the decade.

bgr.com/2016/02/10/netflix-ratings-what-they-mean-how-they-work/

That's because every horror movie on there is trash.

Lol wrong NEETcuck

Pontypool
Hush
Nightbreed
Babadook
New Nightmare
The Invitation

>mulholland drive
>watch odishon
>expecting another ju-on
it turns they went the david lynch route

richard gere is boring

there, I said it.

>have TCM
>look at all of their classic horror films playing this month
>go crazy on the DVR
>record record record record record
>mfw
It's going to be a good Halloween

Horror flicks always get lower ratings for some reason.

He's had more gerbils up his ass then you ever will...deal with it.

I've seen all these but the two with lines through them and can recommend all but the last two, and those weren't that bad.

Same

ABC's of death is absolute garbage and I can't take anyone who recommends it seriously.

Just as I can't take anyone's opinion seriously who discards wholesale a film that contains T Is for Toilet.

youtube.com/watch?v=gVO3j7KdF3M

>DUDE FARTS LMAO
its garbage

>netflix
implying faggots who watch netflix would like horror genre

It's an anthology. Some sucked. Some were great. To say the whole film was great/awful is misguided.

Deathgasm was almost perfect. Kinda dragged in the 3rd act

Furries dude. You're defending a movie with a whole segment dedicated to fur-dom. If citizen kane was at the end of it, it wouldn't be worth sitting through.

I would say that it gets the job done and is competent.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre is.

>best horror movie ever
>not directed by Mario Bava
pick one

?

More cuck shit.
