I at least am hoping it transcends 'hopkins is a transhumanist, wanting to advance the race/let robots take over', 'half the robot makers are planing their own version of super AI', 'AI self actualizes and kills everyone' and some level of corporate douchery that involves weaponizing the robots. It's still at the core very much about characters enabling the robots to become better AI and retaliate against their oppressive overlords, the form that it takes could be one of many.

This show is already planned and booked for 5 seasons. AI won't go RED QUEEN till the end. Also Episode 3 showed that Hopkins very much wants the host to remain as host and Bernad is a fucking retard and is going to fuck everything up despite the amble warnings and example given to him by Ford. Also the maze is for the AI not for the guest.

They can't. It's just that hosts never break character. This is going to become a problem later int he show when a guest run out of bullets and they start hacking at randoms with axes and shit.

That guns have safety features that reduce the projectile velocity when fired at a guest, so guests can't hurt each other.
That hosts do a very good job of segregating the guests from each other and herding them off on quests. Also the train delivers small, manageable groups of guests to the park at times intervals. Under normal circumstances, it is very difficult for guests to interact with other guests they didn't come with.

Death cults aren't guest. They clearly are Ford's new pet project. And if you are wondering why they are invulnerable.

What better way to keep random guest and host from wandering into Ford's half of the park that he took over for the purpose of his new storyline than an invincible death cult to keep people away.

Everything in the show is about narrative and what different people want from them. Some people want hookers and black jack, some want to look for bounties, some want crazy ranch rapes.

Even The Man in Black is about the people that go looking for some final layer that is ultimately not meant for audiences to see i.e the writers notes and formulas. In the show the guy has likely accidentally stumbled onto the fact that the park basically has a bunch fo maps and shit hidden in it so that in case a park employee gets lost, he can just scalp an indian and get a map that gives him the directions to the nearest exit or something like that. The maze is literally jsut the catacombs we see people store the shelfed hosts in. It's just empty concrete hallways that leads nowhere and ultimately just ends up taking you to Ford's little secret hideout.
