Literally prove this wrong. British plugs are the best designed plugs in the world.
>Nearly impossible to shock yourself >240 volts, no virgin 110 bullshit >Fused >Earthed >Internal wiring means the live wires come out first, leaving the earth conductor still connected.
Ok OP you're a faggot, American and European power is basically the same.
American lines are also earthed and fused
American homes are still supplied with 240v power, but the lines get split for normal outlets. American plugs have two prongs of different size, since one is the 'neutral' - the center tap of the 240v line.
Americans still power large appliances like fridges, water heaters, washers, etc with the 240v line but aren't retarded enough to supply 240v to a Keurig. It also makes construction much safer, because a 120v ac shock is not always fatal, while 240v almost always is.
The main reason you even have this argument is because your picture has an American plug from the 80s. look up a modern American plug retard
Benjamin Watson
seethe harder mutt. Enjoy your virgin plugs
Jeremiah Ramirez
>be me >electrician >hit with 240 >no dead Now 277 will knock you on you ass but wont kill either The amps are what kills faggot ...but the rest you are mostly right about
William Morris
Why are you all still fucking around with single phase you pussies
Swiss plugs are the best! 3ph, 16 amps, 240v. The pure power.
Wyatt Diaz
this >small >powerful >also polarized >sturdy >no fuse which actually is a plus
then the german schuko, but it's non polarized
Logan Morgan
You're right, lucky you. Keep it up!
Bentley Torres
>electrician >no electrical knowledge
sounds about right, typical wire monkey. now I see why you already electrocuted yourself
Luke Johnson
Aren't British plugs a whole lot more expensive? I heard why they're better but a lot of what it offers is overkill in most applications and financially not feasible for some smaller manufacturers. I also don't see the benefit of the British plug if outlets are GFCI and surge protected
Aaron Lee
Picks on italian plug >reversible >doesn't need a whole wall to plug one single appliance >compatible with euro standards >if you step on it it's no big deal >can support up to 16 amps >has two dimensions, one for light appliances and one for heavy ones, so you can't overload a plug
Joshua King
schuko look cool and you have access to the earth if you need it. you can flip them "wrong" however so no appliances with neutral to the chassis. that's a stupid design anyway so it's a feature, not a bug in my book. also, you don't get schuko pins up your foot if you step on it.
Ethan Sullivan
Stay mad, Eurofag.
Brayden Cruz
>Durr de durrr wire monkey duurrr And yeah when working on live circuits (which happens a lot on commercial jobs) you get hit. Not to mention tards like you flipping breakers on because they need their light without telling anyone.
Sebastian Walker
i fucks with 480v stop being a bitch
David Wright
once i had to work on replacing fluorescents in a lift 5 metres up. they had to be on because factory was running. a cable went loose and hit me. 230 volts right in the eyesocket that hurt
Bentley Adams
Eh, I'll give you this one Even tho this faggot is right , I gotta give you the edge on the girthy yet aesthetic design
Jack Powell
Find something anybody gives less of a fuck about. Pro tip.....
Carson Robinson
>Literally anything exist >Eurofags: Fuck America I jerk off to them every night
Dominic Roberts
Again voltage doesnt matter much I bet. I got knocked the fuck down working on some 277 lights in a school. Strangest feeling ever
Honestly, even a modern american plug is quite shitty. No insulation on the prongs at all, which is unacceptable from a developed country, it's such a basic safety feature and so easy to implement, that there is no reason to not implement it. The difference between the 80's american plug and the actual plug is just the ground prong.
Connor Barnes
Until you stand on an upturned one in the middle of the night..
Jaxon Russell
>tards like you flipping breakers on because they need their light without telling anyone.
And do tell, where was your breaker dog? How were they able to flip it back on?
Xavier Baker
The holes in the prongs of the American plug act as fuses.
James Howard
My breaker dog was the same place as my wire stretcher
Tyler Morgan
I usually keep them near my finger box.
Grayson Campbell
>breaker dog?
Is this a thing? Does it bite people who try to put the power back on without its masters permission?
that bottom 3 legged one is massively hard to even bend, let alone break, i tried with a vice, hammer, bolt cutters
Brayden Lee
Just a faggot would pick the Italian plug as an example of inferior plug. It's one of the best plug out there, if not the best.
Jaxson Sanders
If you need polarized plugs for your single phase class 3 protection device, you are doing it wrong. Also SchuKo masterrace.
David Morgan
who tf shocks themselves?
Zachary Cruz
Electricity in the United Snakes was developed by Thomas Edison, the P. T. Barnum of technology. He lied, he cheated, he stoled … uh, stole … even before the CIA had classes to teach all that.
Jaxon Murphy
A neat thing about the UK plug sockets is the little gate that stops kids putting forks and shit in there. The gate only opens when the ground pin enters first, because the ground pin is slightly longer than the others.
Also, the live and neutral pins are typically sheathed half way up, so even if you're retarded and somehow get your fingers stuck when plugging it in, you can't get shocked.
Adrian Rivera
Are you retarded? No one invented electricity First edison harnessed electricity as dc Tesla harnessed electricity as ac The us uses ac Faggot
Wyatt Fisher
Voltage does matter. It is true that amps is what actually kills you but voltage determines if the electricity has enough potential to travel through materials. High amps won't kill you if the voltage is so low the electricity can't surpass resistance your skin has. Ever noticed how 240v rated wires have thicker insulation than 120v rated wires?
Ayden Scott
>Americans still power large appliances like fridges, water heaters, washers, etc with the 240v line but aren't retarded enough to supply 240v to a Keurig. It also makes construction much safer, because a 120v ac shock is not always fatal, while 240v almost always is. So you have basically traded fire safety for perceived personal safety (hurr durr 110V can't kill me, so what if my flimsy wooden house burns to the ground because the wires are under twice the load). With a shitty plug and a fucked up wiring code to boot.
Logan Jones
You know we have those in the states too right? They are called tamper proof receptacle and have been code in most places for a decade
Eli Torres
in the US we expect our people to be smarter than the plug. you get shocked, you deserve it.
find something else for you and your failed empire to be proud of. pro tip... you can't.
Mason Parker
>United Snakes kek
Landon Thomas
yea but you cunts only use it 50 hz. So fuck you.
Jordan Sullivan
But 12 volts can kill if the amperage is high enough and 90k volts wont do shit at low amps
>>Fused why would you need fused outlets when you have fuses at the fusebox? You do have fuses/breakers/GFCIs/AFPSs properly installed in the breakerbox, right?
Blake Hughes
Yeah, there are herd of people killed by 12 volt batteries. Because voltage doesn't matter. Energy is what kills you, which is a combination of voltage and amps. Also, you have to keep in mind the resistance of the human body. >12 volts can kill If you're made of copper. Otherwise I think not.
I touched the metal prongs pulling my iphone charger out a few years ago. Felt like a sting and couldnt move my arm the same for like a half hour
Levi Cook
Nah thats news to me.
Daniel Wood
no we have residual current devices because its the 21st century
Julian Collins
American homes have two phases of 120v or whatever. In my corner of europe we have three phases of 240v, so you get way more power than you do. We get 400v between the phases.
And yeah, having fuses in the plugs is retarded, just makes them clunky.
Grayson Ramirez
STFU Amerifag. Bend over and take it from the British Master-race... there's a good boy.
am American, honestly I the Australian is the best I've seen.
also the american has two types, the other one is heavier with proper grounding
Jason Smith
Stop larping kid Its not voltage that will kill you its the amperage All it takes is 20 mA to stop the human heart
Gabriel Murphy
Opinion
Jose Clark
Literally what i said Go back to the romex pulling faggot
Gavin Lewis
>I don't know physics but will spit out what I've heard other idiots say its total energy that matters, which is based on both
Lincoln Torres
Finally someone that gets it. It's the energy that kills, so it's a combination of volts, amps and time.
Tyler Jones
Try me
Eli Collins
i put my finger in an open outlet once
Kevin Peterson
Whats with the british and all there safety shit? My Arcam amp has BFA terminals. I did a little research and discovered british pussies developed this to be safer than a banana plugs
John James
I'll try to explain. You need high enough voltage to overcome the human body resistance and "push" those amps into the body. That's why we can touch a 12 volt car battery and not die, even if it can produce up to 1000 amps of current, because the body resistance won't make enough energy pass through. Energy is calculated like this: V*A*T, where V stands for volts, A stands for amps and T stands for time. A simple electrostatic shock has more than enough power (V*A) to kill, but since the duration of the shock is in the order of nanoseconds, the actual energy that goes though our body is very little. If you could experience an electrostatic shock for 1 second, you would die.
Henry Robinson
the DC two-pronged virgin vs the AC three-pronged chad
Christian Wilson
i work on power plants and sub stations, was hit with 250,000v and i was fine. stood up and laughed because the child i had been holding was dead
Luis Allen
No lockout/tagout procedure on those jobs?
Liam Lee
>doesn't like stepping on 3-pin plugs at night when going for a piss >doesn't like standing on lego when running to the door to collect his delivery pies
Sebastian Gonzalez
> 240v is fatal Mhkay dude you have no idea what you talk about
Gavin Moore
you must be one of those faggy organics. with my cyber implants, even a 1.5 volt battery is lethal to touch
Luis Gonzalez
Everyone is using AC?
Luis Brooks
You know electro shocker?
Wyatt Lee
Kek, virgin cyber implants. I have the chad wooden implants, and if I touch high voltage, not only I don't get shocked, but I also get cool Lichtenberg figures. Pic related.
Im gonna get or make that and hang it up as art. Thanks for the idea!
Joseph Williams
I honestly advise you to not do so. It's very dangerous if you don't know what you are doing. You need really high voltage (2000+ volts) to make things like this, which can easily kill you if you make even the tiniest mistake. And, with voltage that high, you have to keep in mind arcing, since high voltage can jump even through air gaps.
Take the transformer out of your microwave and stick it across a plank of wood soaked in salt water. Make sure to grab a wire in each hand when connecting and wet your hands to make yourself safe. Ignore this faggot
Nathan Edwards
Im a lazy fucker and dont feel like fucking around with it. You can buy them online for cheap. Im just gonna order one
Aaron White
Yes unless its a car
Cooper Jackson
Are you retarded? Most tazers are 50k+ volts... Kill yourself
Levi Harris
yes but the current is too low to kill
Nicholas Baker
Please shut your retarded ass up
Ayden Reyes
Don't be a fag
Evan Rodriguez
explain how im retarded.
Jaxson Brown
Does this count as murder if he does it now?
Noah Lewis
not my fault if he chooses to do that
Bentley Ross
>believing tasers can output 50k+ volts trough the human body
Jackson Bennett
The stories and information posted here are artistic works of fiction and falsehood. Only a fool would take anything posted here as fact.
Leo Garcia
I quite agree, it is the best engineered plug in the world.
Brandon Sullivan
They're usually only a couple kV at most. It's all marketing bullshit.
Jack Powell
bump
Daniel Moore
You guys will argue about the dumbest thing...
Justin Lopez
lol yeah, I think the initial charge can be up to that much, but they generally out put maybe a couple kV.
Joshua Powell
its shit like this is why we do not want to adopt the metric system
