I think its a metal band for 12 year olds. I moved on from them long ago. now I listen to grindcore and slam mostly. pig destroyer and devourment are my favorites. slipknot is a talented band who could make brutal music if they wanted to. but sadly, they don't want to.

Slipknot is a great band to get introduced to metal in but the fan base is infested faggot 12 year olds still a great band

its were it all began
too bad they suck ass now

I think they're great. Sure they've grown old but they're still experimenting with more melodic tunes and I think that most people who says that now "they suck" should take more time to listen to the new songs and take the time to understand the new songs.

They fucking suck

kk

But seriously I think that they're better than 99% of the musical bullshit that comes out nowadays

Good band

i like Stone Sour more, but Slipknot's last record was awesome

The last decent album was all hope is gone. Paul's death really changed the band. They dont sound the same to me

one thing I never understood was, when i listened to them, i heard 1-2 guitars, a bass, drums and vocals. so what the fuck are the other 7 members doing?
anyway, (sic) is a fucking awesome song.

Tech stuff + composing songs

They're one of the bands that got me into metal/rock/music in general when I was a kid. (Born in 91) But now I look back at them and they were pretty flawed in terms of structure and quality.

Everything other than the edge and imagery is underappreciated. Iowa is still heavy af

There was a lot of little turntable stuff in the background that you can't even hear unless you have the separated tracks. Also additional percussion.

Joey and Sid departures didn't help either

absolute cringe

They were a stepping stone to real metal. I listened to slipknot, mudvayne, Korn, and similar in middle school. Then I found actual metal like necrophagist and pic-related (skeletonwitch), and haven't listened to them since. They're "intro" to metal, and nothing more. Once your tastes develop, they're garbage.

I used to listen to them when I was 12. But they are just a phase.

Music for the lowest common denominators of society. The outfits/masks seem so gimmicky. One is a clown, another a gimp.

I like this guy though, he is the only cool one. What instrument does he play?

They're not edgy enough :\

The fucking piano lol

Like a synthesizer? Or a real fucking piano? I knew I liked him for some reason.

He plays keyboard and mostly does samples. But his real role is just headbanging onstage; I havent seen that man play a note once

So he's pretty much the hype-man? That's legendary. What's his name? Do these guys all have like nicknames corresponding to their masks? Or are they just like: "Yeah i'm the clown guy from Slipknot."

I went to Des Moines, Iowa summer of last year, because my bro and his friend were only 16. I have listened to some of their stuff through my friend when I was in high school 10 years prior. I have to say, I wasn't really that impressed with them. Drove 6 or so hours to go to the fairgrounds, took forever for the venue to start, opened with Gojira, who were also meh, then took 45 minutes to change set, then came on and played for an hour and a half and was pretty lackluster.

I like Slipknot. I want their music to be played at my wedding and my funeral.

rather eat a diarrhea casserole
