Stayed there for awhile, true golden age, not sure ever had so much fun on this website ever since that year. 2012 was my golden age until summer of 2013. After that ended up on Cred Forums for awhile until the election, went through an edgy phase which looking back on I cringe, then was on /r9k/ for awhile until got sick of the place. Stayed on /his/ for awhile which I occasionally return to because love history. These days mostly shitpost here, browse porn boards, or chat on /lgbt/ like a faggot. Even with as much as this site has changed, still consider it home. Love Cred Forums against my better judgement even today. You're all a bunch of faggots but you're my faggots. These days I board hop a lot though, occasionally returning home on /mlp/ I come to Cred Forums these days only whenever very bored, because even with all the porn it's fast paced, and occasionally producing entertaining threads, which with how fast paced this board is, happens more often then other places. I know this probably doesn't really answer your question but I'm really fucking bored so have a wall of text about my Cred Forums history. Much has changed, memes comes and goes, but my love for this website is enduring still even after 10 years.

I came in 2012. It was a bit more wild back then. Most of the threads were themed around general conversation. Porn existed but that wasn't the sole intention of a board. There are threads I can post over and over again and no one will respond. Those same threads would have gotten a response by the second or third time a few years ago. Those same same threads would have gotten hundreds of replies in an hour back in 2012. It was a very different time where people were just looking to hang out and have fun.

I remember there being a lot more random greentext OPs with funny endings, random CP after the mods went to bed, dubs didn't exist at the time so some people tried to make 'nubs' a thing. in 2009ish there was a lot of newfag/ oldfag rivalry, the site had gotten a huge influx of users due to news reports etc about shenanigans btards had pulled (like the Sarah Palin emails.) I was in that wave of then-newfags but steered clear of those boards mostly.

Im pretty sure i remember it fondly due to nostalgia to an extent, but it was still way more quality dense than it is today. Even though it was populated by a good amount of social recluses, posts didn't reek of insecure incels trying to convince themselves that they're too good for women and not the other way around. The 2 major differences though were the following:

2) Original content was being made on a regular basis. At the moment, the only remotely original content made here reeks of Cred Forums.

In essence, 2006 Cred Forums was nothing like 2020 Cred Forums. In fact, facebook meme pages with 3k likes currently have more of an old Cred Forums vibe than actual Cred Forums

As someone mentioned before, there was a certain fear about whether you should post or not.
You had to ask yourself if you were actually contributing or even knew wtf you were talking about.
New content, memes and threads of quality were common.
A lot of inspired creativity and originality.
You could lurk a thread for a long time and feel like you actually gained some entertainment and had a few sincere laughs.
A sense of community.
Everyone seemed more relatable.
Lots of greentext story threads.
Less porn.
Occaisional cp.
Now it’s majority porn, gay, blacked, anti wammen, tranny and other useless shit threads not even worth opening.
This site was fun for the first 6ish years until normies became more and more aware of it when reddit and 9gag users started flooding in.
