Mitsubishi station. Will own again one day.
1936 Auburn Speedster
Prettiest not boxiest lol. Was that designed by someone with a ruler and no other equipment
Lol. That’s what I liked about it. Boxy 80’s imports are my favs. This car in particular was a dream to drive and work on/modify, and yes that’s what they did back then when things were engineered. Rulers.
2020 McLaren Speedtail
> back when things were engineered
> decade that produced rust-prone shitbox after rust-prone shitbox
Holy irony batman, you cannot bring up the 80s as a high point of automative engineering?
Are you kidding me. Cars today are fucking junk. That station had better gas milage than most cars today. Now every car is a fucking sensor for this and a sensor for that, a sensor for a bunch of nonsense that’s only there so it can break and pay some idiot $130 an hour to replace it. Tire sensors that need to be reset and that sensor breaks. How about taking an entire front end off to replace a $3 head light bulb or removing the rear seats and half the interior to change the middle brake light that LED and last just as long as a regular bulb. It’s a fucking joke. Don’t talk to me about rust. Every fucking car rusts. How about fords triton engines for 10 years blowing spark plugs because of a shit design? Don’t talk to me about cars. Today’s cars are engineered to break easily and be expensive to repair. Rust is way more easily to repair. I’ll take the rust
The Dodge Aries/Plymouth Reliant or really any K car.
The Starion got 18 mpg combined. Which is pretty embarrassing considering the average modern car is larger and heavier and gets double that. A modern V8 Corvette gets significantly better gas mileage.
You also seem to be conflating build quality with ease of repair, which are not even slightly related.
Also I'm beginning to wonder if you actually think that car is called the Station since you've made the same typo twice lol

Good points and I'm not the station guy, but the ease of repair thing is a complete dealbreaker to me. I can't stand all the needless electronics and cheap plastic that the cars today are made with. The automotive industry today has perfected planned obsolescence and the illusion of technological advancement.
My 82 Datsun 280zx feels kind of like driving a sleek looking brick and gets 20 mpg but at least it's an honest vehicle and I can fix 90% of the problems it has myself.

Mid engined rear wheel drive so goes like hell. Reliable toyota engine. Small and lightweight good for handling. Hopelessly impractical so if you want it for a daily I dont reccomend. Cool looking design in my opinion. Relatively small engine is good on fuel but still powerful enough for the size of it. Slap a turbo on it and rip shit up if you want
Here's one that may surprise you...

There is a certain alluring "Arbeit macht frei" to its design, that's for sure.
Man, the SW20 is not a good looking car. I much prefer the AW11. Plus the inside is a lot more intuitive with the control placement.
Based K-car
Sometimes I wonder if all these people attracted to boxy 80's cars are attracted to boxy 80's women, too. What the fuck happened to curves, man?

Under appreciated nowdays, Jeremy Clarkson has called this the most beautiful car ever made. I agree.
Ford saved it by stealing it from Jaguar to give it to Aston to finish. Then ruined it when they gave it back (XK8).
Aston Martin DB7
>1936 Auburn Speedster
Oh, my Cord!!!
From a design perspective this thing is ugly as hell. But it's fast and the interior is bretty gud.
Ah, the bloated, obese millionaire sugar mommy of the automotive design world... No thanks.

Question - When a "straight" man prefers the straight, square lines of a muscle car, doesn't that sort of make you think he might not be entirely straight?
A challenger appears.
Jag D-Type
And again.

Thunderbolts are bad-ass and cool, but they are not pretty. If you think it is pretty just get a Fairlane.
