Blacks experienced a higher quality of life and committed less crime whilst segregation was still observed. It's not a long-term solution but it's a start.

Won't work. Blacks are genetically predisposed to violent crime, and only centuries of breeding could possibly alleviate that issue.

Unironically, end the drug war. Criminal income comes from drug sales. With legal drugs, the drug users who can handle drugs will use them fine, and the ones who can't will either get help or die.

I think spreading a wide net to fix problems is a good solution too. But I think the true problem is that they don't want things fixed. It isn't that difficult of a problem. Yet, there always seems to be something in the way. Greed likely... It saddens me but... maybe one day.

Within Mexico (and other Latin American countries) there would probably be an improvement as well. Their gangs would run short on income sources soon, unless the CIA decided to get involved to give them something else to do.

I also think that Andrew Yang's UBI would help a lot of things in the US. People would be more mobile and able to leave shitty neighborhoods easily, raising their kids in better environments. And it would give Americans an economic advantage over non-Americans in the US, since they'd be the ones receiving UBI.
