From persona experience racism isn't as bad as it was in the 1900s, But it's still quite bad. There was only 1 racist situation I was involved in where I was getting out of my dad's car, and the lady next to us locked her car doors. And I have never been physically/sexually assaulted because of my race.

Dope is definitely an enjoyable movie. And better call Saul is one of those shows that some people won't be drawn into immediately, but it gets a whole lot better the more you watch it. It's up there with breaking bad in terms of how good it is..
