ISP tracks the secured packages and keep them. Wickr actually reveals your key to decode the packages. Messages are now visible.
All you need to know is how data companies actually keep all the traffic in datacenters for a while (mostly 6mo). To encrypt your data, your account has a private and public key. Keys are linked directly to your account. If the keys are revealed by the company in case of compromise (like a user in your group, actually saving screenshots) all data can be revealed easy as fuck.
Nothing is safe on the internet. The only safe containers are physical containers with hardware encryption... like phones (not google of course - samsung maybe), encrypted usb drives, etc.

I have no idea about the iWatch. But iPhones have hardware level security and encryption. You can't get data out of the phone without the PIN/Passcode. No matter how hard you try... Also Apple doesn't have any way to reveal your pin/passcode. Also the biometrics are locked down at CPU level, so they can't be bypassed.
If I wanted to keep data safe ... I'd use truecrypt (that's what I used before getting discontinued) and made a safe container inside a standard NTFS partition. If something was to happen, the container could be deleted as a simple file. Doing that in case of deletion the bits are set as write available by the disk controller and every bit written afterwards to that disk damages the file ghost. Damaging the actual ghost of the container makes it forever lost.
In the recent news, a case was stuck because a locked iPhone. They didn't get shit.

Like I said. I have no idea if that's fake news or not. I don't give a fuck, but in 2016 apple had a law suit with the FBI over device locking and encryption. This means that up until that time, iPhones were unbreakable. Which means if a device still runs iOS 10 it may be locked down for good.
