The idea and definition of socialism was bastardized during the cold war. Now socialism is just boneless communism.

Imagine socialism that is encouraged by the government, not enforced by it. It would be no different than donating to charity, or choosing what government programs get your tax money.

You must always have a system that has checks and balances. All humans are imperfect and we all are greedy by nature. No matter how perfect a system of government may seem humans will always be there to take advantage or find the loop holes. In order for socialism to work, people need to be selfless which we aren't. We all have our vices and flaws.

Oh I know that, I'm just pointing out the glaring holes in the comment. If allowing private business ownership makes it not socialism in Nazi Germany, then by proxy what is working in sweden is not socialism.
