They're different enough in EO, Bard is full support while Dancer is... well, everything. They're so versatile that a party of 5 Dancers ends up being strong as fuck.

It helps to have a high AGI character to use items, which Dancers are great at. You can use items or get Stuns to prevent damage with the Blade Flurry + Mist Dance combo to buff your normal attacks.
