With a heavy heart I think of flying. But it is winter, the weather is bad, the grass runway is wet and the airfield is closed.

Noice. I've flown gliders and single engine.

I miss it too.

there is nothing dumber than travelling by aircraft.

Nothing is dumber than not being in control of any vehicle you're in

I've flown airplanes, raced cars, raced motorcycles, raced sailboats, and bicycles.

I also have rockclimbed, snowboarded, surfed, and downhill longboarded.

I don't measure things by what is dumber than others, or dumbest. I just do what I feel like.

Pussy.

Have you tried it before?

You know what they say though.

If there's grass on the field and especially if it's wet, it's time to play

Wet grass is not a problem with proper soft field technique. It is not taught very well in most training programs, so very few people know how to actually do it.

Flaps 2 stages, stick FULL BACK, full power, as the nose wheel lifts reduce pressure and keep plane on main wheels, let speed build and lift into ground effect ... remain in ground effect until you reach normal rotation speed and climb away, retract flaps in stages.

You can thank me later.

>You know what they say though.
However, I know what they say, in aviation:
Always fly slowly and deeply;

And I should add, nearly 2200 hours now, with night and instrument ratings, multi-engine. current aircraft is a PA28R 235 single though,

Thank you user

BRS? not a Cirrus is it? I though tthe handle was overhead in those.

I always thought it was

"kick the tires and light the fires"

I got up from my couch a few times. I didn't care for it.

i can smell your CFI dorkidness wafting through my screen.

also, literally everyone you work with is going to want to punch you for getting wet grass, green stains and mud all up and over everything.
