im 21, go university and grew up listening to metal music. my parents are really into metal and always suggested stuff to listen to. they are wealthy and live in a huge house. just because is aggressive doesnt mean you have to feel that way to enjoy. not every type of metal comes from a place of anger ans there are so many subgenres that "metal" is a very vague term. you have to be very insecure about your taste in music to make it connect it to social status or feelings.

Look into power metal bands? I never really liked the brutal/black metal stuff. I'd listen to bands like blind guardian, falconer or hammerfall a lot in hs.
