yes technically. there isn't a set amount of numbers for tickets/warnings/streetchecks etc, but there is a range they certainly want to see you be within - and if you aren't you will be disciplined.

wow that seems incredibly specific. personally i only ticket crackheads and very rarely will i ticket the average citizen. my reasoning behind this is because crackheads use vehicles to commit crimes such as theft/trafficking w/e, they never pay their tickets which leads to a suspended licence, which leads to me eventually towing their car and getting them a huge fine. i hate giving regular people tickets.

in my experience, we are treated much more severely than citizens. we are not only governed by the criminal code, but the police act. police act has charges that are added with criminal acts that almost double our sentences/fines if we commit a crime. also, police who commit crimes or unjustifiably kill/injure somebody have their lives turned upside down with trials, management discipline, public backlash, etc. and im not saying it shouldn't be that way - we are police, we are expected to uphold the law, therefore our punishments for breaking it should be worse.

I ask because there's this spot on the freeway where i live with a dual speed limit, 65 for cars 55 for commercial trucks. And about 90 percent of the time i drive by there they've got an 18 wheeler pulled over. (If it's a nice day lol) ive never seen a car pulled over there. It's ALWAYS trucks with sleeper cabs and there's almost always one there any time you drive by in ticket writing weather between dawn and about 7pm. It sticks out to me Because i used to drive one and have gotten the odd 3 or 4 miles over the speed limit ticket before. I know that tickets for commercial vehicles are double or triple what you pay in a car. As someone who makes your living driving you can't afford to come back to fight the ticket but you also can't afford to lose the punts on your license. So almost everyone has a lawyer service that they pay both monthly and per incident to defend them. It always goes down the same way.

Cops give you a 200 or 300 dollar ticket, you call your lawyer who negotiates it down to a non-moving violation saving you the points loss (and charges you about 150 fee) you pay the fine and the fee and chalk it up to a cost of doing business.

It's a neat little trick. It works out for everybody except the working man, who of course doesn't live in that district and so can't vote aganst the sheriff or chief of police or whoever. It just seems like an unfair tax. if you really care about slowing ppl down you install those radar controlled red and blue warning lights on the speed limit signs. Ticketing people who most likely won't be back is no way to train the general public to slow down on a section of road. But it its a good way to make hundreds of thousands of dollars a year from a near inexhaustible source of hard-working service people....
And that money must be going somewhere.

it depends on the situation. id be more concerned if the home owner just blasted the guy for no reason. you have to remember there are other situations such as a friend coming over, or called over. a drug bust gone bad, etc. these could be what actually happened, but the person could say it was a robber breaking in. we have to consider all avenues. it is really hard to give a straight forward answer to this question honestly.
