The most influential band of all time is Bob Marley and the Wailers. It's not really up for opinion.
They touched the hearts and minds of more people around the world than any other band and their music had a positive message of spreading peace(don't even try to say the Beatles or MJ....c'mon, give it a break...MJ is a child molester).
The Wailers influenced almost every musician you hear today.

Elvis Presley

If a alien landed in front of me and demanded that I tell him the band that best represented Rock and Roll I would point him towards the Rolling stones

shut up faggot

Nina simone. Now you all go home.

Slayer.

I look at the videos from the bands in the late 60s and the early 70s. I admire that they had to tour and play anywhere for years before receiving a record contract. Also, the lack of props to distract from the fact that most acts today don't have real talent. A few spotlights and that was pretty much it back then - no.faking, you had it or you didn't.

I think that's a stretch

Know what the first song she performed "professionally?"
Happiness Is A Warm Gun by, (not) guess who: The Beatles.
