Well, now you've got no excuse.

When you're finished, if you've got the time for a JRPG, have a look at Skies of Arcadia: Legends. Ported from dreamcast but it's fucking good.

obvii.

I've got it downloading. Someone else mentioned Skies of Arcadia to me before so I'll probably chuck that in the folder too. Thnx, dude.

I'm also interested in games that are so bad they're funny so I can stream them with my cousin. So I'm open to suggestions for that as well.

Ikaruga, very challenging/rewarding

RE4. Why has nobody said RE4?

ayy

Obligatory. You have the Gamecube controllers for PC with Dolphin right?

Gladius

Fuck it didn't post my picture?.

Attached: s-l640.jpg (451x640, 51K)

Nah. I'm actually running Openemu on my mac, I have standalone dolphin, but it's actually integrated into Openemu now. I could use my desktop, but I like the portability of my macbook. I don't use a USB gamecube controller, I just have my DS4 configged and it works extremely well wired/bluetooth.

I would if I hadn't already played it to death, dawg.

baten kaitos

Fuck yeah. Gauntlet is the shit.

Old enough that I played it on PSX, my dude. :p

Chibi Robo
Pikmin 1 and 2
Luigi's mansion
Mario party 7 (the best one)
Battle for Bikini bottom (sounds retarded but actually a 10/10 game)
Sonic Adventure DX
Wario world

My favorite gamecube games, no particular order.

I'd you were ever into Pokemon you should try out Gale of Darkness. I really enjoyed it at the time and it really benefits from an emulator's fast-forward option.

lol fair enough!
I think it's fantastic, however it does not replace the original imho like many people will claim

Hands down best game in the world.
-Cubivore
If you're into Harvest Moon, there's A Wonderful Life.
Obscure shit that's fun.
-Robotech
RPGs (Skies is better than these though)
-Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles
-Tales of Syphonia

-Viewtiful Joe (1/2)
-Star Wars Rogue Squadron games.

Metal Arms: Glitch in the System
Everyone else hit the others.
SpongeBob is 10/10 for sure

There's just something magical about the base game. It's probably a nostalgia thing, but I just love the janky-ass psx original.

Jesus christ you guys are really coming through with recommendations. Saving threadddd.

XIII

Is Network Transmission good? I played the shit out of the Battle Network games, but I heard this game wasn't that good.

Those are mine.

Attached: gc gmaes.png (397x241, 37K)

its pretty good
maybe not the best megaman game

To mainstream.
Not that they aren't fun, but I'm guessing everyone knows about those.

Solid

I mean I don't think I've played a Mega Man game I didn't like. Mega Man 2 and the Battle Network games are prob my fave.

Troo. Mainstream never hurt anyone tho. A for effort.

If only I had some hipster Ariel memes to post with my comment.

Mooseback Backlash.

I think the ironic part is that by emulating obscure shit on a dead console, we ourselves have become the hip people we so often shit on. Good job, us.

Good fukkin point, my dude.

The fact that I'm not the only faggot that loved Battle for Bikini Bottom makes me VERY happy. That shit is gold.

Gale of darkness is the shit. Played it back on my GameCube. Finally completed it years later and purified Lugia. I wanna play coliseum now

Never got to finish as my little bro broke my gc

I beat it when it first came out. Also Colosseum. I kinda want to play them again now too, lol.

Geist

Under rated shooter

You’re a spirit that’s trying to find your bo day and at the same time destroy demons
And you can posses several object and living creatures on your way to finding your body.

Also Eternal Darkness, Paper MARIO, Legend of Zelda Windwaker, Luigi’s Mansion, Super Mario Sunshine, Mario Kart Double Dash, Wario World, Smash Bro’s Melee.

How has not a single one of you said fucking Kirby Airride yet?? That shit was classic

Because it’s more fun when you play with others. When you do the racing or city event, it’s more fun when you play with other people. Not PCs

Can you still play online? And i thought this was a dreamcast game

True. I wish shit like this was available for online multiplayer on switch.

Why no castlevanias for gc?

No fucking clue, dude. Symphony of the Night and Aria of Sorrow will always be my favorites.

>emulate
extreme cringe

Came here to post this
Amazing game!

I'm more of a classicvania guy myself but I also love the the metroidvanias. Have you ever played the nes games?

do you not know about rom emulation?

The laser in my chipped cube shit the bed and I'm not chipping another one. Emulation is more practical and cost effective in 2020. If you want to play hardware, that's cool though. Don't be a dick about it, though.

I prefer original hardware on my pvm, but there's no reason to be a snob about it

Seriously, no one else played Geist?

Game is fucking awesome and it flew under the radar.

Attached: 522910F3-AEFA-4776-AB96-CC1119E7DCA1.jpg (220x306, 30K)

I still my GameCube. But also have a Wii that can run GC discs and had the controller ports and memory card ports. And for the fuck of it. I jailbroke it and added a shitload more titles on a external hard drive. Got to have multiple ways to play the games.

Duh.

Attached: GAFE01.png (203x284, 96K)

I have! I love them all, to be honest. Aria and Symphony both are really my favorites for nostalgic reasons. Aria was the game I took with me everywhere in the GBA/SP era and Symphony just kind of blew my mind on PSX. To each their own. I don't think they can really fuck up Castlevania it's a pretty timeless formula. In recent history, I really enjoyed Rogue Legacy. That was a weird take on metroidvania and I enjoyed it a lot.

Chibi Robo

This. Watta guy!

While we're talking about it though, anyone have any suggestions on fixing the laser? I tried cleaning and realigning the POS and it still won't work.

Attached: 1579750237747.jpg (640x640, 22K)

He's defending wasting a fortune buying all the original shit for no advantage other than nostalgia. Buyer's remorse much?

It's definitely going on the download list, boi. I missed a bunch of shit from the game cube gen because I was doing other shit. That's why I'm playing catch up haha. I need a break from the ps4 for a bit.

This was the first game I was ever hyped for. Felt like an eternity before it came out after learning about it.

Some people just feel the need to project. In a perfect world we could all afford to maintain hardware and shell out the ass for hard to find games, but it's not a perfect world so thank the gods for emulators.

It’s one of the most ported games ever, probably more than Tetris lol

And every time it's still good lol. That shit probably won't ever die.

You won’t be disappointed man. It’s a solid game. With great mechanics and gameplay that I have never seen in any other game. Seriously when you become a ghost you have to figure out different ways to scare animals or people in order to possess them.

It's been a while since I've seen a wholesome thread on /b. Thanks, guys! Glad to know some of the goodfags are still around.

I’ve bought RE4 like 4 times already on different consoles and I will probably end up buying it again for the next gen consoles.

Oh don't fucking worry I'm gonna play the shit out of it. Just started the dl. My internet is shit though and I have like 6000 things downloading so it's gonna be a hot second lol.

Attached: Screen Shot 2020-01-31 at 3.21.07 AM.png (214x61, 12K)

Damn man. I’m feeling nostalgic. Been playing my PS4 a lot too. I have my GameCube and all these great titles on it. And I kind of feel like plugging it in and playing these games again.

Same. We'll probably be like 80 years old and still paying to play it via hologram or full integration VR or something and I'm fine with that. I'll be like 80 years old telling Ashley to shut the fuck up on some next level shit.

If my laser was functional I'd have mine plugged in too haha. My GC has a qoob chip and DVD-R top loader in it and I have a fuuuuuuckload of DVD-R's burnt, but that laser just won't fucking work no matter what I do. It's very depressing.

Why not buy another gc? My sister fucked mine up 5 years ago and I went to the flea market and got a working one, with cords and controller for like $20

LEEEEON LEEEEON LEEEEON LEEEEEEEEEON HELP HELP HELP HELP

Attached: Jm5FsaG8AWRCeMuZDGHdWQIA_0Z9M5xS4Jbvz9cc-nM.png (610x366, 334K)

Because I would have to chip it etc. I might be able to just swap the laser though? I have no idea if that would work and I'd probably fuck it up, but it's worth a shot if the thing is bricked anyway.

You could probably replace the laser. Actually my original indigo GC that my sister messed up still works. Idk what might be wrong with it. I just know that I have to add pressure to the top for it to read the disc. Like the disc won’t read, but if I add weight to the cover it begins to read the disc.

Looking at replacements meow and it looks like I could probably do it for less than $20. It's worth a shot at some point. The emulator works a-okay for meow though until I get around to it.

I hope they remake it. And by that I mean they leave the story and gameplay the same. Just give it a graphics upgrade.

The fuck? I haven't tried that. I'm gonna way the top of it down rn for science. Brb lol.

I mean worth a shot man. If your GC is messed up. What’s the loss in trying to replace the laser on it?

Yea man. Idk what the hell my sister did to mess it up. The laser works and it runs. But I needed to put my heavy ass textbook on it for it to read the disc. I don’t know if maybe part of the lid got broken and the GC doesn’t recognize that it’s closed for it to read the disc.
But when I add pressure to it. I can hear the disc begin to spin and it reads it and I can play it. Not sure how I’d fix that so I don’t have to add weight to the cover.

James Bond: Nightfire

Fuck. No luck. Was worth a shot.

Am definitely going to. It would save me hard drive space and there are a shitload of games I have burned that I never played so it's 100% worth trying to fix.

Damn worth a shot.

Well at least you can attempt replacing the laser. I’d do it. Or better yet man buy a Wii with the GameCube ports and jail break it. The Wii I have I nail broke it and I have a shitload of GC titles, N64 titles (some of them don’t run good), SNES, and NES Titles.

The only problem I noticed with the GameCube titles is some of them the display is zoomed in, there is a way to adjust it but I forgot how to do it. Anyways the games run great on there. Out of all the titles I have on it I beat Super MARIO Sunshine and Luigis Mansion with no issues at all.

There's actually probably a way to fix that with tv picture settings. What's the largest SD card the Wii supported?

I'll go look into it right meow. I've never even heard of it.

No

Best Castlevania box art incoming

Attached: 1580167881778.jpg (800x713, 106K)

yes

I used a 4Gb SD card for the jailbreak apps and I used a 1TB external hard drive for the titles. I forgot the max it can read. I had to make partitions of like 200Gbs I think. Don’t remember to well I did these 2 years ago. But you can find forums that walk you through it. And there’s software you can get on your computer to convert the downloads so you can play them. Like for the GameCube titles. If I remember correctly when you download a torrent you have to convert it to ISO and then you can add it to your external hard drive and play it on the Wii

I like this one.

Attached: sotn.jpg (500x512, 104K)

>best

Sorry. That’s not SOTN.

I didn't even know the wii could support an external hard drive that makes shit a hell of a lot easier. I actually have a Wii somewhere in storage, but I have absolutely no clue where. They're cheap af now though so I could just snag one for like less than $50.

Dubs confirms.

Rogue Squadron of course
>A-wing speed boosts out of this thread

Attached: large.jpg (640x480, 71K)

boring by yourself though

Played this a whole shitload over the years, but I'm sure I will again at some point.

Just make sure it has the GameCube controller and memory card ports. Also you might need to format the external hard drive. But you will need an SD card it had to be a specific kind too and can’t exceed 4Gb. The external hard drive I used was a 1TB Western Digital My Book Essentials, again I had to make partitions because it couldn’t read the 900GB space.

Like I said there are plenty of forums that explain step by step how to do it and there’s different ways to do it. When I looked this shit up. I just googled Wii Jailbreak, GameCube games. Shit like that and I learned how to do it in a day or two.

the box art is of box art

Attached: 1580425845858.jpg (600x800, 87K)

I'll def look into it. This sounds like the best route to go with for playing on hardware.

Okay I'm off and going to bed. I saved the thread in my notes. Thanks for the help, guys!

Attached: 1579567343161.png (600x338, 255K)

Later OP. This was great thread that brought back nostalgia to me as well. Good luck and hopefully you can play the titles on your gc or Wii.

i just recently played through TDYD and tried playing through Sunshine. If you dont have an xbox controller or something hooked up to your pc then don't emulate these.
The sections where you need to turn into a roll of paper are tedious in TDYD and sections where you need to spin jump are fucking impossible in Sunshine
