>end up playing scratchers almost every night. Bot really losing a lot of money and most nights I leave with an extra $50
>manager out of nowhere texts me asking if I play lottery on shift
>"yea? I buy them every now and then when I get bored or it's dead as hell. Why?"
>hour goes by
>get a call from manager
>hey, just want to let you know that I've been told to suspend you until tuesday, meaning you're unable to come in until tuesday. I am going to speak yo our district manager about what I should do. We have a very strict no lottery on shift policy and now almost $900 worth of lottery had gone missing.
>wtf.jpg
>never even got told it was a policy. I was told not to cash out any myself which I didnt
>$900 missing???
>never stole any lottery Cred Forums
>havent even touched lottery in past week
How fucked am I Cred Forums? Pretty sure I'll lose my job but I'm not worried about that. Stealing lottery is a felony, do you think they have anything they could just drop onto me? How would I protect myself from that. I legit never stole lottery and always fanned out my cash while paying for said lottery so if anything happened it showed how much I paid. Kinda scared Cred Forums.

I mean its most likely all on camera, but they could still fire you even if they can't prove you didn't steal them

The missing $900 is probably just from some retard not entering a lottery pack into the system correctly. Happens all the time.

However, it is illegal for an employee of a location that sells lottery to purchase lottery while on shift (to reduce the possibility of corruption).

Technically and legally speaking, all of your lottery winnings were illegitimate, and you may get audited for all of them and have to pay them back. And no, they won't give you what you spent on them back either, just straight up loss.

I doubt it'd be jail time, but prepare your anus for a monetary butt fucking.

>t. Gas station supervisor

Wait for real? Why wasnt I ever told this??? Also what if I didnt cash my winnings at the store and I never won anything huge so how would they know what I won?

> playing the lottery
Pretty fucked
You might as well smoke a bunch of cigarettes at the same time
It would probably be to much work for them to get you in any trouble though

Also, is it federal law or a state law? Km trying to look up laws against playing on shift and all ican find are certain places forbidding you from playing on the clock while others dont care

It was probably in fine print somewhere when you signed whatever papers you had to sign to start working there.

I hardly had any papers to sign. And I read over them pretty carefully. So yea idk.im just scared that this could be a huge unknowingly fuck up

the bosses are trying to take your winnings and throw your under the bus

go above their heads and threaten to file countersuits.

claim that you have family lawyers who would LOVE to have win on their record

if they back down INSIST that they either sign a legal document regarding your innocence or company lawyers issue a large payout indemnifying the company and look for a new job

Jesus christ this escalated so fucking fast. I'm legit fucked

if you need to register or log in to the cash register they'll just check the logs
>user registered on Tuesday
>no cash missing
>bougt lottery tickets
>user won 50 bucks

>>im sorry user, you're a good kid

if you did something wrong by accident, just tell them that you have misunderstood the system, that you're sorry and you're willing to pay your boss back for his losses
now boss can't fire you or he won't get his money back
you can't lose unless you're a fucking retard

Well fuck...
Alright, I mean I wont know what's going to happen until tuesday, hopefully it's just termination. But I guess yea whatever happens I fucked up

you're innocent until proven guilty. the fact that you're an employee doesn't make you guilty. the worst-case scenario is termination, but that might be illegal depending on where you're from.

Well if anything I'd just take the termination. I've already thrown out like 30 applications for a new job so I'm not entirely worried. Just scared about the whole $900 missing thing since it is a felony to steal. I guess you're right about the innocent until proven guilty part but still just stressing out

no need to stress about it. they can't prove shit if you didn't do it.

So you did steal them?

goddamn canadians

Not that I know of. I usually scan the ticket, play, scan another, play, and so on. Usually end up with a total at the end and I pay it off then cash my winners somewhere else like walmart or something

>Not that I know of
So you did steal them?

??? No?

1) Are you a white guy?

2) If the decide to press charges (unlikely), can your family afford to get you a lawyer?

If so, you'll probably be alright even if the worst happens.

Oh and...

3) Do you have a previous record?

If someone asks if you stole something, unless your answer is 100% no, you did it

1. Yes
2.hopefully
3.nothing. not even a speeding ticket

if you did nothing wrong just go to court bemused. don't be scared. if you laugh at them every time you ask for evidence, the prosecutor will quickly understand there is no case and you are completely innocent. smirk, laugh, and ask piercing question after piercing question. What day did I seal lottery tickets? how many did I steal? what kind? what did I do with them after taking them? what time did I take them? how do you know it was me? etc. and after each question state the truth. you don't know, you have no evidence, because it wasn't me!

This. Don’t be a dumb fucktard OP. When you get asked questions like these (which you inevitably will), be fucking smart about it and just say, “No.” don’t beat around the bush and try to over-explain shit. Makes you look guilty, retarded, or both

not in the USA these days whatsoever. you are guilty and need to prove your innocence by absolutely demolishing the case against you. otherwise its the cops and DA who decide how to punish you regardless of your conduct.

Ok, just fuckin scared cuz small ass thing could fuck up my life rn. So no I didnt take shit

this probably varies by state, but you could probably call a free legal advice place or even a real lawyer and just say can you answer a quick question about lottery

Stop watching the impeachment trials. Any retard can combat this on their own without a team of lawyers. Burden of proof lies upon those who make the claim. Deny, deny, deny. If shit gets weird, go to court, represent yourself, claim inosense and ask them to prove it. If they can’t prove it, then it’ll literally go nowhere. If it does go somewhere, then you sue the establishment of which you work and the state for following through with false allegations and defamation. Make shit tons of money and jerk off with it.

/thread

But you did
You're scared that you've been caught
Shouldve thought about that before stealing shit

You watch too much TV mate

>not that I know of
That’s an absolute yes, from someone trying to cover his ass.
All your answers highly imply you did this knowingly

We all know you did it, which is why you’re so scared.
Yet you are so scared of “big brother” that you don’t even admit it on an anonymous board, and instead make all your answers so fucking vague

look up your local asf-iwa and get protected.

So technically you did steal tickets then. You have to pay the cash for the ticket, before scratching it off.
