Leave and never return. Forget this place exist.

What do you want to know?
What is it about life you can't seem to tackle?
I've got tea and a bit of time before bed - ask away.
And always beware pic related.

And men with tattoos?

I'm 40, so not really old but I feel old as fuck, so I'll still answer. Keep up with technology as much as you can. Intentionally seek out new technology and learn it. No one wants to deal with the old person who can't figure out how to program their new DNA sequencer or some shit.

Live below your means and invest. Work 401k at least up to company match Max and outside Roth IRA.

can you briefly summarize communism?

Bitterness is not a trait exclusive to the old, it is a trait of the inadequate. There are plenty of young inadequate just as there are old inadequate.

On that my old man advice is get good at recognizing problem people (the bitter, the nasty, the passive aggressive co-dependent, the Cluster Bs) and cut them as quickly out of your life and keep interaction with these people to only as necessary. These people cause a lot of problems and harm.

And don't fall for the sop story of these people either. Every cunt has a pre-determined story as to why they're a cunt designed to play on other people's sympathies. You dont have to hear it.

That said (so it isn't just a bitter post) those who are good people, treat well, enjoy and keep around you. The time and effort you put into these people will pay you back tenfold and make your life better.

why do old people care so much about thier retirement and 401k money?

it seems like you guys prepared your whole life to be retired, by then your too old to do shit

Learn to shoot accurately from cover and on the move. Old people advice is useless beyond that, this is Clown World.

You'll die before you can spend it.

Become a true optimist. People don't know the real definition of optimist and pessimist. I consider myself a true optimist. I ALWAYS expect the the worst outcome in any situation. If I need something from someone, my mindset is nobody will provide what I need. If I need someone to be somewhere, I believe in my heart I'll never see that person again (including my wife). If in need to visit some Govt. office for a service that I pay for in my taxes/fees, I fully expect to be sent back home because I am not in possession of form XVCXL signed by Chief Supreme Court Justice Roberts. But that never really happens. Things usually work out well. I live in a constant state of being pleasantly surprised how well things are going for me. I gotta tell you, it feels great.

i'm stuck with university kids and i'll be 43 in march. i'm thoroughly sick of young people. they have egos they don't deserve and all i can say to them is 1. you've got 20 years of disappointment and frustration coming to get to my level of peace of mind and understanding of the world 2. you must learn to accept that you have been and will always be truly alone until you die, no matter what relationships you attempt. 3. (bonus) losing your virginity is pointless and sex is gross and stupid. slightly more fun than video games but less satisfying.

study something that is both practical and have a passion for

studying for a major that your parents forced you to do will lead to a quick burnout

A thought experiment conducted by Marx and Engels - attempt to implement this society model into the real world failed miserably in 1918 in Russia. The idea of sharing all equally amongst the population became the idea of sharing everything with the proletariat, who then became dictators and oppressors.
The whole thing collapsed in the 1980's.
Democracy was tried, and that worked pretty well up until Putin, who seems to be the Prime minister forever.

True enough, I've met some pretty bitter, almost 90 year old 20 year olds. More angry and ossified than any octrogenerian.

"inflammable" does NOT mean "not flammable"

The first millennials turn 40 this year.

Heh, it's most humbling to look back at one's own youth and find that, yes, we were as full of ourselves as any other youngster. It comes with age to find one's humility.

Having you thought of killing yourself because 43 and in college complaining about people half your age feeling their oats is the most pathetic post on Cred Forums so far.

Your idea of age change as you grow up.
Suddenly you're 40, and you don't feel like you thought you would at that age - you find that you're still you, silly at heart, insecure about many things, that you still have so much to learn.
Then you hit fifty and you accept that you can't actually learn everything, you can't know everything. Peace and humility is found and you live, and let live.

Yes, despite cool dubs, that was a bit of an arsehole post. And you know it.

Start lifting. Now. Never stop.

Yeps, we choose the way we perceive the world.
It's better for the digestion to have a positive view.
Can't change the world to suit you, best change yourself instead.

unfortunately, not everyone's circumstances allow them to go straight to college after high school. besides it's better late than never have a degree.

>"inflammable" does NOT mean "not flammable"
It does, though. It needs oxygen. But you're right, it should be "inert" to be safe(ish.. -er).

Smoke one and watch Star Trek the original series on a big screen

Feel like working at 80? If you want to relax when you’re old. Retirement accounts are key. You should go ahead and an hero at around 40 if you don’t save.

Don’t put beans in a rifle.

You'll feel different at 40.

>don't date women with tattoos.
And I cannot stress this enough.

Start smoking.

drink at least 8 cups of water per day.

Fuck the Republicans AND the Democrats, but vote blue until you can manage to dismantle the bullshit two party system by staying at the local level and working your way up. The Dems may suck mounds of stale monkey ass, but at least they're not hell-bent (pun intended) on hastening humanity into either a global cataclysm or the rapture. They think Jeebus is coming back soon so they don't have to worry about the future of the planet. At least the Dems, as shitty as they are, don't want to die from a fucking global hurricane.

Start voting third party at local levels ASAP.

Don't marry at a young age. Don't have kids.

Cancerous ideology.

Don’t be too picky when it comes to sex partners. Fuck a lot of different people. You are only young once.

Try divorce sometime. Might change your opinion.

The IRS will not call you. They mainly contact you through physical mail. Anyone claiming to be IRS and calls you is a scam.

Well, it seems we're at the usual point in any Cred Forums tread, wherein the slow release of pent up shitpostings can no longer be held back.
Tea is gone and it's bedtime for old farts.
(timezones kids, remember, timezones)
Goodnight.

That'a life, faggot. Not forming families and having lots of kids is why we are falling apart as a society.

U can learn more about life from negative people than u can from positive ppl

Work for yourself, either your own business or become some type of consultant.

Better to be a big fish in a small pond.

Always, always keep one in the pipe.

7 billion and counting, yes, we should procreate more... idiot.

That's what negative people always say.

All this. And don't follow your friends in doing stupid shit.

Brush and floss. You only get one set of teeth. Drinking a fuckload of water. Don't do drugs.

I'm 60 and this is my advice:
You will only ever see a tiny fraction of the people who inhabit the state you live in (not to mention the country or the world).
Most of the people you will see on a regular basis you will not have any sort of relationship to (like that guy who buys coffee the same time you do most days).
Most of the people you do see on a regular basis have at least a casual relationship with someone who's relationship is important to you.
(that guy who buys coffee same time as you, might be your boss's boss's brother-in-law).
Be as pleasant as you can stand to be, and don't talk bad about anyone to anyone if you don't know what their relationship is to the person you're talking shit about.
People think it's karma when the good things they do come back to them. It's not. The fact is that world you inhabit is smaller than you think on an interpersonal level.

60 year old again.
Another piece of advice. You can tell who is the younger less wise person by their comments.

Agree with all this.
Also, there's a renaissance / second wind you get in you 50s that's pretty damn cool. Just dont fuck yourself up (injuries, addiction, etc) or burden yourself with debt (esp. Divorce) to the point you can't enjoy it. If you do you'll hate yourself viciously. I'm enjoying mine... but have several friends who fucked themselves out of theirs in various ways. They're miserable, and probably will be for the rest of their lives.

Oldfags give me advice:
My life is good. I have an apartment, a dog, a girlfriend in an open relationship... I work 3 days a week with high functioning special needs adults and make good money to hang out and play video games or go to the movies. But I live in a city in upstate NY. It's cold. There is nothing to do. I'm bored. I want to be warm in a city where there is stuff to so and I can grow my own food. I've also been through a lot in the past few months. I had to kick out a psychopathic narcissist "best friend" of a roommate. I quit drinking and smoking weed. 4 months sober. The thing is I've been watching anime and playing games my whole life. I'm 24. It was fine while I was on drugs. But now its played out I'm so bored. There isn't anything to do in my city. It is always dreary and cold. No acitivies or anything. I've lost friends that I used to smoke and drink with. Idk. I want to try new hobbies and things but they all cost money or are outdoors. I am so.bored with my life. I just want out and a new life. I have been thinking about moving to florida. I just dont have the money to move. Help me. I feel trapped.

If you ever intend on doing cocaine recreationally in your life, present or especially future, NEVER try crack. There's a 99% chance that you just wanna freebase whatever coke you have in the future for a good bellringer.

I'm all for people experimenting, but just do yourself a favor and keep crack a curiosity. You'll love a good bellringer but you'll probably never be able to do cocaine recreationally without wanting to turn it into crack .

And this is coming from a upper middle class white boy in his mid 20s, just don't do it even if you're offered it.

kys old people of Cred Forums your a nuisance and a burden to those around you

honestly:
-keep healthy
-find one or two hobbies you enjoy that involve creating something
-travel as much as possible
-learn to cook
-get a library card for free books/films

I turn 50 next year. Done with consulting now (as of last Marc) and opened a little restaurant to feed collage kids. Me and the old lady relax and take it easy now. My only job is signing checks and kicking back.

A person who is nice to you but mean to the waitress, is not a nice person.

Being right is not a bulletproof vest.

You never had baby teeth or you still only have baby teeth?

Sounds like you've positioned yourself nicely. Congrats.

If you wait patiently by the riverside, one day your enemy will float past.

Invest. Invest. Invest.

>Have girlfriend in an open relationship.
First things first, you don't have a girlfriend.
Save money. Move to Mississippi. Housing and land are cheap as shit there.
Try working with your hands and making things to sell.
Better yet, learn a trade. HVAC. Welding. Carpentry (rough or finish).

in what?

Don't "wait and see" - kill yourself now.
It doesn't get any better, and the oldfags saying it does are lying.

hamberders

>While you were blah blah blah, I studied the blade.

and then we told gen x and gen y that they are all just millennials and the only other generation ever born is the boomers.

Its 2020 not 2040 you twit

VTSAX Admiral Shares. Buy regularly. Never sell. Check your balance in 10 years.

No she is 1v1 monogamist. Cares only for me. Agreement when we got in a relationship was that I could bang whoever I want.
Also fuck Mississippi. When I drove through there last year it was the most backwards ghetto Nigerian country place i have ever seen. Everyone looked and acted like fucked idiots who have racecars all the time

Better that than outlive your money. It’s the only way not to be a wage slave. Spend, spend, spend and you’ll die with your boots on. You are buying your time, which you can never buy more of once it’s gone.

I'm going to be retiring in a year with a decent pension and 401k. Jobs with pensions are going to be a thing of the past. You need to prepare now for when you retire. If your job doesn't have a 401k program you'll have to do it yourself.

But it's warm and cheap. That's what you asked for, dipshit.
Next advice, get off of Cred Forums. This shit will cripple you if you're not stable to begin with.

Never get into the back seat of a car with Regis Philbin.

Don't waste time on assholes.
Women are a cruel race, but, they have all the pussy. When you get married (you should also have kids) marry a conservative.

Don't be a dick.

Ex Floridian here. Avoid that cesspool at all costs. It may sound nice but Florida has a way of trapping you. NEVER move to Florida. If you want warmer weather, try NM or AZ. Stay away from the humidity.

Millennials were born between 1978-1992. You twit. You're thinking of Gen Z

>Be a neocon breeder
>Don't be a dick

Pick only one.

54 years old. I guess I count. My advice: get a fucking job and be responsible for yourself.

>Be a neocon Inbreader
>Don’t be a dick.

Pick only one.

I fixed a typo for you.

what a boomer post

I'm only 38 but seriously, you kids need to invest as early as possible. You won't get a pension, you're gonna get "gig" jobs that don't give you any benefits and everything's gonna be expensive as hell for you when you get older.

I doubt I'll have any worthwhile skills in the year 2050 and my Social Security payout is gonna suck. You guys will have it worse.

Waste of dubs. Can you even read?
