How much do you tip Cred Forums? And is it mandatory?
I'm gonna be visiting my uncle in America next week. Will they spit in my food if I don't tip?

25-30%
it is pretty much mandatory
bro its 20% also check my numbers
Instead giving the server money, say this: Here's a tip
Then proceed to show him/her your dick
0
Fuck waiters
15% is a bare minimum
20-25% is customary.
anything above 30% is generous
>I don't have to tip so I don't
this is like going to Japan and not taking off your shoes when you go in someone's house. Sure, you CAN do it, but you are being rude as fuck
For good service I usually play along with the 20% rule because people have to make a living, but man what a bunch of bullshit that game is... why should I have to tip more based on what I ordered when the server puts in the exact same amount of effort whether it’s a cheeseburger or a top dollar dry aged steak they’re bringing to my table??
I generally don’t eat out unless I’m on vacation because I can’t wrap my head around that bullshit.
Waiters/servers deserve no tip. I especially love it when they stand next to you so i can watch their uncomfortable face as i press 0.00 on the tip machine. You dont deserve a tip for walking my food a distance of 20 feet. Find a better job.
I tip 10%. I will look for any excuse to pay less though. I simply don't have enough money to pay more than that. I feel bad, but there's nothing I'm willing to do about it.
Why the fuck would you tip someone who is already paid
I never tip and never will
Pay extra money for what, some chick to bring me a plate of food? It should be covered by the cost of the dish.
I've tipped below 15% maybe three times in my life, and each of them were truly the cream of the shit crop.
You'll be lucky if it's just spit. I've thrown pizzas off balconies for exact change requests. The 2.50 an hour you get for a tip job is criminally low.
Not trying to perpetuate the idea that menial laborers can earn well over 20/hour.
You get anywhere from 10-20% with a 20 dollar hard cap unless I'm there for a while
In civilized countries you can choose to tip or not because the waiters are paid enough to survive on their wages. I tip anyway, but you can tell who the americans are in this thread.
You don't get the bill until after you finish eating. How are they gunna spit in your food if you already ate it before you decide how much to tip?
And yet people seek this profession.
>don't live in america
>never tip anyone
>an uber eats guy brings me food at 4am
>tip because 4am
THREE DOLLARS LOL
The US is a shitty place to people who CAN earn tips, giving them a massive cut in the minimum wage.
take a beggars job, earn a beggars wages.
she should pay her tuition with her future wages, but i seriously doubt she chose a lucrative field. dumb cunt.
What I'm reading is, you want to punish other people for your terrible, idiotic choice in employment
we do $3 a person. For that exact reason. Each mistake or vastly amount of time i sit there with an empty cup is -$1. And actual mistakes by the waiter, not the cooks.
Jfc, just how out of touch are you? Noone wants to work in service Jobs. It's almost like we do it out of necessity
minimum wage for people who have a chance at earning tips is like 3 or 4 dollars per hour, so tips can actually end up being their primary source of income
20% if the service is good. I'll even tip if the service is good and she/he apologizes for any food/time issues.
$1 per drink, every time I order a drink. Take care of your bartender, they will take care of you.
Remember, most states count tips as income... which removes regulations for minimum wages.
Where I live a typical straight wage paid by the employer for a server is about $2.50/hr.
Nope, it was a second job I had only for tips. And guess what, I don't get my tip, you don't get your pizza. You're lucky all drivers aren't as mean.
Tipping is not mandatory.
Tipping is for fine and exceptional service and performance.
They chose the job they ended up with.
The economy is better than ever right now, they can get a new one if they'd like.
Tip them if they deserve it. But no one forced them to take up such a shitty job.
Enough to be polite because I'm a poorfag
No because tipping is a retarded concept and should be abolished
My gf is known in town as a catering professional and has worked with many of the servers that show up at our table. She routinely tips around 30% because she wants to keep a good reputation.
I will tip 15-20% for good service because I think good service is just expected. For poor service, i would tip 5%. But my gf can tell when I'm pissed at the service, so then she'll take the check and leave a normal tip.
I used to go to applebees halfitizers after FNM a few years ago with some friends. The $5 palte of wings was all I could afford, and I would of happily walked up there and picked up my own plate I don't need anyone to bring it to me. SO why should I tip you more than what I have?
I also used to work as a dishwasher in chilis and one night a waitress came storming in the back of the kitchen furious the table of 8 only tipped her $60. Oh I am sorry you cunt, you made in one hour/table than what I have to bust my ass off for all night. Fuck'em dude.
Usually because steaks take longer so that is more time you will sit at their table and they won't be able to turn it over for a new set of customers
>being uppity because you didn't get paid excessively for moving food from a back room to a front room with a smile
This is why I tip about a couple bucks everywhere I go. Not my fault these people work based on a social contract rather than an actual one.
So you chose a shit job that didn't pay enough and then when you had to work a second job, you picked another shit job that doesn't pay enough.
Forgive me if I do not value your opinion, you fucking idiot.
You americans have such a weird tipping culture..
It's like, "you have to pay me 20% extra, in cash money, or i won't be able to survive on my paycheck alone." Why don't you just stop demanding tips and collectively ask your workplaces for a reasonable wage?
Oh i forgot.. That's communist and gay right?
Don't work minimum wage dead end job then don't see why should I tip
Do I tip the fucking cashier at the shop because she's making minimum wage
no
Do you go into kitchen and tip the kitchen porter or the underpaid chefs
No
Do you tip the dude at the desk at McDonalds
No
do you tip the janitor
No lol
Don't ever tip.
Why would you tip someone for doing their job?
I always tip BUT... instead of bitching about a poor tip the server should be bitching that her boss refuses to do away with tipping and pay her a real wage instead. That being said, I live in a resort area and servers would riot if they did away with tipping.
show us your poverty nest with all the piss bottles. it's not like you moved on to medical residency.
Those mofos dont make the food, all they do is carry it 50ft from the kitchen, and dont even get refills on time.
with which they'll report all tips and pay taxes on it, right? right?
lol. if you don't participate in society don't expect it to give a fuck about you.
>And actual mistakes by the waiter, not the cooks.
This is what burns my chaps, litterally:
>cook burns the food
>waiter brings out plate of obviously fucked up food
>I complain
>gf: "It's not her fault the cook burned the food."
>me: "It's her fault she brought out something shitty I don't want to eat instead of fixing it before it got here."
>gf: "Then the kitchen will view her as a bitch and she'll get bad reviews and might lose her job."
>me: "...as if a server bringing out shitty food deserves the work."
Fuck you servers - if you don't go to bat for me with the kitchen, you're gonna eat the bad tip.
Piss bottles!
>The economy is better than ever right now, they can get a new one if they'd like.
Yeah, for people who made actual valuable life choices.
It's not so good for people who decided they can phone it in all their lives and live off a minimum wage job.
>Be 20 and currently in University
>Parents/family are wealthy so I thought I can properly be a NEET
>Parents made me go to school for business/finance degrees
>Parents make me work at a restaurant-chain-bar so I can get some experience in the entry level field
>Relatively easy money and kinda fun
>I'm not too mad if I don't get tips
>Coworkers are either older people with multiple jobs/kids or college kids trying in debt
>Classmates are just college kids in debt who would come to me for money and pretend to be my friend
It'll probably suck once I graduate or once I'm forced to work with my parents but for now, I am just taking it easy and enjoying the last of my teen years and getting into my 20s.
>autistic screeching
About what I'd expect from wait staff
i don't and decent place should have that included
that's a lie and how can they spit in the food if you've already eaten it?
pay/tip after you get your food. america is retarded and feels like 20% is the standard. percentage tipping is objectively retarded. making ~$25/hr for that kind of work is insane. do not feel guilty tipping less.
again, percentage tipping is objectively retarded. if i order a $12 burger, or a $40 steak and lobster, why the fuck should i tip a different amount? the person did the EXACT same amount of service. there is ZERO logic to percentage tipping. flat tipping of like $5 a person, MAYBE, but percentage is retarded.
>Why the fuck would you tip someone who is already paid
They're not getting "fully" paid because restaurant owners can cut their salary because it's assumed they'll make up the difference with tips.
>inb4 just get a better job
Kek, just go eat in a different country
don't you know that everyone loves dining out with beggars walking around the restaurant? what's more romantic on a first date?
Demonstrably awful life choices. Second job, dependant on tips. Weew lad.
a medium rare steak takes about 7 minutes. it's one of the quickest dishes to prepare.
servers make less than minimum wage because tips count as their income.
are you stupid?
yes
are you clueless?
yes
are your parents ashamed of you
yes
is it past your bedtime?
yes
Hey man no shade. You gotta do what you gotta do. I'm talking about the people that WANT to do it. I've got respect for the people that can keep up that insane pace.
The only true answer:
>Tipping is a shitty, dumb system, but it's what we've got right now
>and if you don't play along you're just a selfish asshole.
Because the kikes who own the restaurants told us that's how it works and they get to make the rules
About five to ten bucks, waiters in my country don't depend on tips
Federal law states that if tips+income is less than minimum wage then the employer must pay the employee the difference.
Don't feed into this$2 per hour boo hoo shit
Also my biggest regret on tipping is this fat bitch who cut my hair. She did a shit job, was rude, ornery, and even laughed when I tipped in the wrong column of the receipt.
$13 and I tipped$2. No wonder she's so cheap, terrible haircut and terrible person. I should've tipped negative
unless you own a restaurant its not your problem. you're still begging for wages. just find a street corner and not worry about all the cooky kitchen stuff.
This guy gets it!!
Wrong. Tips can't count as income, since they can't be counted on, moron. That's what OP is complaining about. If it's not contractual, you can't count on it.
I tip 100% of the bill because I'm not fucking poor lmao
I wipe my ass with the napkins tho
Tipping 15%used to be generous. Now these greedy cunts want double. I say we just don't tip at all.
do they pay taxes on tips? most don't, so get fucked and enjoy being poor.
>it's one of the quickest dishes to prepare.
>if they don't under or overcook it and you have to send it back
...which has gotten so common the last few years that I don't even order steak anymore and just cook it at home, getting better food at 1/3 the price.
dude, the IRS would like to know your location. you're completely wrong.
There's a tip, don't depend on handouts, you commie cucks. America is a capitalist society, you're literally supposed to work for a living.
15% Standard.
I walk up and order, pay, and collect my stuff, that 0%, your POS asking for a tip gets skipped.
I will tip 18-20% if the service warrants it. Like, more than just myself, orders with alterations (usually diet related), more than just water to drink...
Waitresses and Waiters are stuck up and think the CUSTOMER should pay them for doing their fucking job. If you think you are worth more, asking for a raise. If you want higher % tips, earn it. Wanna give good service, this is what I look for. When I enter, acknowledge my existance. If your busy, just say "Be with you in a minute". Know what you have on tap and your specials. I don't care if you just started your shift and I am your first customer, it's your Job. When delivering my food, ask if there is anything I need, maybe even recomend a condiment or something you can bring. Offer to refill my drink before it is empty.
100% wrong.
>I wipe my ass with the napkins tho
Kek
>Tipping 15%used to be generous.
This is true, the gig economy losers have been moving the goalposts for a while now.
...and how about those stores that don't even prepare food? Like, you're buying hardware and they have a tip bucket up at the counter.
Don't worry, not an Americunt. Nobody complains about this shit here.
i googled this in two seconds.
Pennsylvania allows employers to take a tip credit. Employers must pay tipped employees at least $2.83 an hour. If an employee doesn't earn enough in tips to bring his or her total compensation up to at least the full minimum wage of $7.25 an hour, the employer must make up the difference.
see
sit down.
It's taxable be revenue, but not income you've earned, since it's your fucking job to take orders and deliver food. Nobody is legally bound to tip
As if expensive wine takes longer to pour than cheap wine... Tipping by percentage is stupid
Ah yes, blaming the workers
What a retarded system, seems fitting for a shithole country.
Have fun eating pubes and dick cheese niggnogg
I work a tip based job and honestly I don't mind when people give me bad rips because I know they're just retarded. I watch them sit there and try to add a dollar to their total and as the minutes tick by I can't help but pity them. They don't know what 20% is and even if they knew it was one dollar for every five they spent it would take them an hour to do that math.
It's more profitable to do the math for them after they've picked whatever dollar amount they want to give you and be on your way.
Because waiters get WAY more than minimum wage from the tips. Hell, on good days it's more than 400-800$ per shift depending on how fancy your place is
If tips were abolished and waiters had only minimum wage 90% would immediately quit job
you are supposed to report your tips and pay taxes on it. failure to do so is a crime and can result in fines/jailtime. the reason restaurants are allowed to pay servers less than regular minimum wage (although there is still a tipped minimum wage that varies state to state) is because of tips. IF a server does not make enough tips so that their hourly avergae matches or exceeds the regular minimum wage, the restaurant is obligated to pay the difference. however, i am unsure if that rule is per shift, per week, or what.
I'm a waiter and the best is finding you online toughboi cucks. You'll try to fill out the receipt quick as shit and leave having left only 10%, so I just stand there and literally stare. Watching your grandstanding fall apart when I literally say "AHEM" and see you hastily change it to a higher value is worth more than the tip itself.
>tipping your local hardware man
>I wipe my ass with the napkins tho
True story:
>be me eating at Carls Jr in the warehouse district of town
>see two fat-ass 25-ish year old homeless couple come in out of the rain
>they're wet, so you can smell all the B.O. and grime on them
>they don't order food, just sit at a booth
>homeless dude starts pulling napkins out to dry off his hands and clothes
>like, not one at a time, but whole stacks of napkins
>with his dirty but wiped-off hands, he proceeds to put the unused napkins BACK INTO THE HOLDER
>the rest of his time there, he puts his head on the table using the napkin holder to rest his chin on while his homeless girlfriend talks homeless girl shit
>they leave after 40 minutes, using the rest room for free on the way out
>everyone coming into the store for the foreseeable future gets diseased homeless person run-off napkins
If you are at a sit down restaurant you should tip 10% minimum, even for bad service. Up to 20% for good service. You can go higher if you wanna just make their day amazing, big tips means a LOT to servers.
If you're at a hipster fast food place that lets you tip, or anywhere that gives you the option to tip before you get your food - you do not have to tip. If you do tip just 1-2 dollars is plenty regardless of the bill.
0% and to tip is an insult to myself, my country and it's economy.
You shouldn't have to be begging for scraps in order to get by.
Your job should pay more than enough for education, housing, and entertainment.
If it doesn't you are supposed to stand up to your boss and unionize for better wages.
Need stroked off? A blowie? Some one to wipe your ass and tuck you in at night too? Fuck off.
>How much do you tip Cred Forums?
I don't go to establishments where that is even an option
>is it mandatory?
nope
>Will they spit in my food if I don't tip?
Nope, they don't know you won't tip, when you dine out at a restaurant in America you don't get the bill/check until the meal is finished, since they don't know that you won't be paying tip they have no opportunity to spit or mess with your food
Here's some advice, eat somewhere once and don't tip, then don't go back, they do remember if you don't tip but if you never eat there again you'll never have to worry about them
If I don't sit down - 0%. You don't deserve anything but a slap upside the head for your job pouring coffee into a cup or assembling sandwiches.
For delivery - minimum, get a real job
For drinks - maybe 10%, it's not hard to pour beer in a cup but I'm probably drunk
Restaurant or cocktails - entering the 'physically possible to fuck it up' realm, roughly 2 times how you did out of 10 is your tip %.
Repeat business where it's in my interest for you to like me - 25+%, e.g barbers or a place i go often. These are rare
Everyone else is wrong and subsidizing people for being stupid and/or shit at life
i dont understand. dont they give you your food and then you pay after you finish your meal? How would they spit in it if you havent even paid yet?
>If you are at a sit down restaurant you should tip 10% minimum, even for bad service.
No, I think this is bullshit. The one and only upside of the tip system is the ability to say "no service sucks and you're gonna feel it on your end."
i know you're probably saying this sarcastically, but it's absolutely true. join the first world, the waters warm.
The so called system seems ripe for fraud, and needlessly complex. Employer pays a wage, tipcucks don't have to depend on the customer handing out a quarter of the bill for having food carried to their table. Nobody in this transaction would be disappointed.
I always put a buck down per beer.
Like you just popped the cap that’s it
I don't give a fuck, then ask employer for a bigger wage or work somewhere else.
Where I live you get paid minimum wage, or even more + tips ( people rarely tip), which are actually spread across the house, front and back, with chefs getting a share of it as they should since they're the ones doing 90% of work. I don't give a fuck about service, I just need someone who isn't rude or socially retarded to take my order and bring it to my table.
Generally double the tax and round up to be lazy so around 20%. At my favorite place that I go to regularly and they know me, it's that much on the table plus another 10-15% in the jar on my way out.
>10% minimum, even for bad service
This aint it chief
>I don't go to establishments where that is even an option
>I'm a shitty diet person who only eats McDs and 7/11
Fuck the tipping culture and fuck americans for being so fucking dumb
imo you tip generously because as a tourist it's not your place to decide whether america should have a tipping culture or not, it isn't your culture. i wouldn't want an american to come to my country and ignore social norms just because they aren't familiar or logical and thus i don't do it when i'm in the states either. plus it still works out less than i'm used to, food is pretty cheap over there
>Watching your grandstanding fall apart when I literally say "AHEM" and see you hastily change it to a higher value is worth more than the tip itself.
You mean you sit on your bare mattress, on your parents basement, and rage on the internet....
tipping is at the end of the service. you've already done your ass kissing begging routine. l8er g8er
>i dont understand.
No, I think you do
>dont they give you your food and then you pay after you finish your meal?
correct
>How would they spit in it if you havent even paid yet?
They can't. This is just Cred Forumstard blowhards being Cred Forumstard blowhards.
Are you advising her to take out student loans? That's retarded.
>even for bad service
negative m8, bad service means they don't care about the tip so why should I
>tipping
why is america so primitive
aw, look. someone's never been to a bar before.
isn't he cute?
america gives great value for money when it comes to food, tipping is a weird clunky system but if you just consider the final bill + tip you still get plenty of food for your dollar so it's whatever, you get to pay a reasonable price for food and still feel like a generous noble gifting some change to the servant class
That's illegal?
What communist country are you in?
Here in Canada the minimum wage means the minimum wage, you cannot pay less than $14 hourly, and it's going to to $15 an hour.
My cousin worked at a liquor store collecting tips, including tips she maked about $20 an hour on a good day
But once the customers discovered she was a lesbian they stopped tipping and actually got her fired.
Baby mad so mommy has to pay
Savage, shithole country. Hirrdurr, people should give me more money for nothing
hey hey now, don't get all mad.
we've all been wrong here before.
Not everyone can or wants to be a NEET
i'm telling her and you that she can't afford college. life's tough kiddo. and her problem ain't mine.
>why is america so primitive
Don't ask me. We don't even vote for president and give land more influence on the outcome than population.
>went to a restraint that just opened
>not bad, not great
>they seem to be trying at least and the people were funny
>got the bill as just a normal receipt, not your typical 2 stage restraint receipt
>paying with card
>ask how do tip in this situation
>it hadn't occurred to them, no solution
>tell them well here's a tip, get a better system
>never go back
>You don't deserve anything but a slap upside the head for your job pouring coffee into a cup or assembling sandwiches
Why? They don't deserve a tip, you're right, but what? You sound personally offended.
I think my only tipping horror story is my favorite bartender/ food guy served me then left for a tattoo appointment
Like mid meal told me later Hermano and left.
I wasn’t sure who to tip since my main dude was gone and I tip him like a 20$ On 12$ Meals because hooks me up with a ton of free shots on Fridays
So I paid regular stuffed a 5$ in the tip jar
Got a text from a buddy
“Why didn’t you tip your waitress”
Some new waitresses got mad I didn’t tip her that 20$
Girl I didn’t even know you existed you aren’t Pedro
Now if I don’t see Pedro I don’t eat there
Or seemingly work a decent job that pays what they need to survive.
If other user is right, the employer legally has to makeup the shortfall to the minimum wage. Why do they deserve any more than that?
Yeah, that would be the way to look at it if you're an idiot.
If you've got half a brain, you'd realize when the service is bad, not only does he not tip, he doesn't have to pay the bill either.
What the fuck is this tipping shit? Do business's in America pay $2 an hour?
Are tou black?
Chad
you fucked up the logic
>she should complain
>if she complains, she could get fired
>good, she'd deserve it for not complaining
You see where the logic messes up? If she is a good waitress and complains, she gets fired. If she doesn't, then you say she deserves to be fired. That's self contradiction.
Sounds like you have an anger problem.
>Are tou black?
Learn to English
Tipping is derived from the depression when places couldnt afford to pay their employees, so they told them to take rich peoples bribes for better service. Tipping should not be a thing anymore. The company they work for should be paying them a decent wage so they dont need to rely on tips.
>waaah my city didn't get the vote :(
In the US the federal minimum is half that and if your employees make any other money in the job then you can pay them below minimum on the condition that they pay the difference if their employee doesn't make enough money to bring the average wage for the shift above minimum wage.
Thank you for your hard work user , I appreciate you
No. Tipping has existed since well before the depression
I tip on how well my water get refilled
Bone dry fucking water cups man
No, they'd get in too much trouble if they got caught, that's not just fired, it's criminal charges from the employer because they do NOT want to be the next burgerkingfootlettuce.
Ignore people saying 30%, they're servers lol. 10-15% is fine, 20% or more if you really liked the service. Used to go get carbonara at this one place all the time, black girl who always worked that shift doted on me because I'd always tip $10 for $20 meal. Waitresses are typically less attentive of loners and I liked that I could manipulate the system with extra cash. That's really what it's for, getting better service than you normally would because you need extra attention for whatever reason. In my case because I need like 4 soda refills to eat something rich and thirst inducing like carbonara.
Too open for abuse. Stop the tipping culture, employer pays the minimum wage. Everyone knows where they stand
>You see where the logic messes up?
>If she is a good waitress and complains, she gets fired.
Sounds like piss poor logic to me. A good server won't bring out shitty food.
Its pretty ingenious that restaraunts can get away with paying $2.50 / hr legally to their workers and have customers pay the rest of their wages.
I literally don't have to, that's the best part. It's a "fine dining" establishment where all the wannabe Chads come to try to flex for their dates. Me standing there at the end and having their date watch is more than enough to get you fags to pony up exaggerated tips, regardless of whether I did a good job or not; god forbid your girl sees you don't have the money to leave a big tip lmao
Waitstaff typically serves at least 4-5 tables at once.
Meals generally last about an hour.
The tip for one table was fifteen dollars.
You're making 60 dollars an hour. Fuck off with your begging.
/thread
Shithole country
I am offended, by the sheer cheek of asking for a tip for the way you transfer coffee from a pitcher to a cup, and for the fact that a lot of people probably do tip them and are normalizing tipping as free money instead of a reward for doing a good/difficult job
Yep, and then mommy pays for it. Not exactly a brave act of principle.
I have worked at many restaurants, and several of them limited servers to 2 or maybe 3 tables. About half of them either don't tip, or tip very poorly. It usually works out to around $20 per hour.
This is why I cook my own meals
In your schema, the good waitress gets fired for annoying the chefs.
I'll take your numbers. $20/hour.
You can still fuck off with your begging.
I work at a gas station. Tip me not to fill your car's tank up with water.
You don't tip until the end of the meal, so they couldn't spit in your food unless you came back and they remembered you. And if they did that they'd be fired.
There are a couple things to remember when tipping:
1. The waiter/waitress is likely paid well below minimum wage - something like $3 per hour is typical. There are special legal exceptions for employers in that sector because the prevalence of tipping is so strong in America, so they don't actually have to pay minimum wage. You could say "That is not my problem. If you want to make more money, then you should find a different job," and while that's a valid statement, the only reason their hourly wage is so low is because tipping is expected. With tips, it's not uncommon for even a rather mediocre waitress to be making $20 per hour.
2. When considering how much to tip, keep in mind that the food quality has absolutely nothing to do with the waiter or waitress. Even if the food is absolutely awful, that's the chef's fault, not the person who brought the food to you, and your tip or lack of tip should not take that into consideration. The waitress's job is to take your order accurately and promptly, keep the area clean and stocked with the normal samplings (toppings, bread and butter, drink refills, etc), fulfill your desire for additions and special requests, bring you your order as soon as it's ready, and make you feel welcome throughout.
3. Tip 10% for mediocre service, 15% for expected service, and 20% for exceptional service. 10% would be if the waitress barely acknowledged you or was mildly rude or harried, failed to keep the area clean and stocked, or brought you your food cold if it's supposed to be hot. 15% if the service was exactly as you expected or there were no unforgivable errors. 20% if the waitress made a good impression on you and you'd happily come again to partake in the atmosphere.
The concept of a percentage is fucking awful. Ordering more expensive items does not equal more work on the part of the waiter. A steak is more work from a farmer than a potato is. A steak requires more work from the chef than a potato does. But an item on a plate is an item on a plate. If it's a meal for two with no special requests, $5-10 dollars depending on the quality of the restaurant. Doesn't matter what menu item you ordered.
I'm surprised our doctors don't have a tip jar
400%
Generally 15-20% of the bill if they did their job. It's some Jewish con game that servers have to live on tips since they can pay them essentially fucking nothing, and that they have to pay taxes on those bullshit tips, so try to make it in cash so they have the possibility of not reporting. I normally only tip 30% for places I regularly visit.
If you don't tip nothing will probably happen if your only there once or twice and it's not a trashy restaurant. Being a non tipping regular will likely get you slow service, cold food, and the staff giving even less of a shit about you. I work at a pizza joint, the cooks only vandalize food in a few cases, all for pizza going out to some trashy asshole regulars that haven't ever tipped our drivers. Purposely overcook it, put bare minimum toppings, and wait a while to cool.
>Got a text from a buddy
>“Why didn’t you tip your waitress”
Was the buddy Pedro? If not, then wtf?
Bones are moist.
At least mine are.
For now.
Or Americunts could just stop accepting poor food, forced tipping culture. Hurr durr, ma capitalism, here take a quarter of the bill for bringing me what you are supposed to sell me...
You are truly the Bethesda microtransactions of food.
Smart waitresses know to target lonely weirdos
If you’re a 7 you can easily make yourself an army of simps to keep you well funded
To be fair, it might not be expensive individual items that make up a large check, it might be a check from a large table with many people and many separate orders, in which case the waitress did a lot more work.
how I tip when I eat out
I tip based on merit. One time I got a blow job from a waitress when I tipped $60 on a $20 tab.
New Jersey cuck
lol nobodies begging
Oh no I guess poor little Erica is gonna have to sit on her ass all night on twitch to make up the rest.
We don't tip in my country but if I go to a place to eat and the food is shit, you actually expect me to pay more money? How is it my problem as a customer that the waiting staff didn't make the food, I'm still supposed to give more money even though I didn't enjoy the food?
Sounds fucking retarded to me.
My doctor had a tip jar but it was jar of business cards with health tips
There's plenty of social courtesies that are retarded. But not doing them makes you white trash. I wish I didn't have to tip. I also wish I didn't have to say excuse me after I burp. I do it because I'm live in a culture and I'm not autistic when something seems illogical. You realize how trashy you look to most people?
Have you guys considered not being poor?
>You dont deserve a tip for walking my food a distance of 20 feet.
This.
I only order to-go so I don't deal with the tipping shit.
I agree 8% is low, and you should always try for at least 20%, but she's a total fucking cunt for being that ungrateful/bitchy over it. Bitch should go worf fucking retail someplace like Home Shithole and compare her weekly take-home from running around on her feet and being yelled at there versus her waitress job.
She'll also of course skip work and therefor ANY income that day to go attend the fucking Bernie rally, though...
Of carrying things a few feet? This isn't hard labour, or even heavy lifting, despite the portion sizes Americunts order.
Extend tipping culture to all jobs... Start running after your refuse workers each time they put your rubbish in the truck, wave a few bucks at them even though your taxes pay their wages. If you believe in tipping you should extend it to everything you've already pair for.
If they were shit why did you tip them at all? Isn’t that the ENTIRE FUCKING POINT?
No my military buddy Tyler.
I should have mentioned that.
It’s almost 3 am, I can’t sleep and I’m online complaining about shit cut me some slack
well the server has nothing to do with the preparation of the food. If anything you should demand a discount/refund for the terrible food, and still tip the server according to how well they performed their job (making sure your needs were met in a timely fashion). It's a weird system, but encourages servers to provide the best service possible.
>Because the kikes who own the restaurants told us that's how it works and they get to make the rules
If that's the case then you're all idiots who can't think for yourselves.
I'd love to, but being the one cheap guy isn't going to change it. It just makes you look cheap.
>The 2.50 an hour you get for a tip job is criminally low.
How is it my fucking problem you have no skills?
Having bounced around the hellhole known as the food service industry for nearly a decade makes you keenly aware of the industry's practices. Luckily it eventually caused me to get my shit together and go back to uni
Kill yourself
Hope you don't eat at the same restaurant multiple times. Unless you like eating smegma.
lemme sit them down for their annual performance review and stack rank them against their peers. do I get to decide their promotion to? why the fuck is the customer given this fucking burden? fuckin tard
Tip jars are extremely unprofessional
>It's almost like we do it out of necessity
Because you are unskilled and a worthless piece of garbage.
If it wasn’t the social meta I’d never tip because tipping is gay.
Damn jews
Auchwitz logic motherfucker right here
Get a load of this guys logic - so I can rape your daughter because since she and you are not the same organism so who cares... Right?
Gtfo crayfish belong in the sea
>I don't get my tip, you don't get your pizza.
I don’t get my pizza, you don’t get to keep your job.
if they don't do their best they should be fired, like every other job.
you're literally describing charity. go ring a bell outside a grocery store in december.
>For poor service, i would tip 5%
Why would you leave one at all?
If there's a problem with the food, you make a complaint to management. You don't punish the lady who had absolutely nothing to do with the food quality.
I've gone places where the waitress was a charmer, served us promptly, stayed on top of our requests and the requests of like 8 other tables. She was a trooper and worked her ass off to try to keep us somewhat happy. Then the entree arrives and it's just awful. Unpalatable. Didn't take more than a few bites of it.
Do I take it out on the waitress that did her job exactly right? No. She still gets her 20% tip. But I do inform her that the meal is awful, and to please take it back. Usually that means the manager will come out, I can give a more detailed description of why i was unsatisfied, and he'll either relay that to the chef in order to improve quality in the future or consider hiring a different chef. And they'll likely either strike it from the bill, rush order you a different meal on the house, or offer you a gift certificate to be used at a later date.
If you ate the entire meal, you don't get to complain. At all. You're a fucking cunt and a loser if you eat the entire meal, then complain that it was awful and that you're either not paying for it or you're not tipping for the service.
Please kill yourself and never post ever again.
Thanks
I don't know man, maybe I'm missing something and Americans do something different but whenever I go out to eat I'll order my food/drink, get my food, eat it, pay, leave I speak to the wait staff one time and that's to place the order, what the hell are they doing in America?
No, they won't. Food is made and served before you pay, so you're clear there. Additionally, cooks don't get tips, so you're clear there too. Tipping is stupid, don't tip, ever. I've been a cook for 7 years and the whole time I've preached against tipping. Just my $.02 though, take it as you will
Gas chambers were used to delouse Typhus' attack vector. Get your facts straight.
I did Uber Eats and one time some fat bitch whose profile pic didn't even fit her whole fucking face ordered 3 double cheeseburgers with cheese fries (each), an extra large quesadilla, 2 orders of nuggets, and a 30pc wings. I saw she didn't tip yet and knew she could tip later, but I decided fuck it and I just ate all that shit in my car lmao. I dumped the boxes and bones and all that garbage on her driveway and then went home and fucking shat myself
I want to call you out on your bullshit....but trips of truth
15% is the minimum that you can tip without looking like a complete jizzstain.
18% is for service that's better than the minimum, but still not unusually good.
20% is for very good service.
25% is for GREAT service.
Anything above 25% is for TRULY EXCELLENT service that goes above and beyond. Typically this includes a level of table manners, attentiveness, and personal touches that make one feel like an honored guest instead of just another customer.
See
I like cooks more than waitresses
Is it true the kitchen stays cursing like navy sailors?
Look at me wrong you won't get %1. In fact only losers go dining. Enjoy your sickness inducing meals.
It's time you lot gained some wisdom on the purpose of tipping.
A culture of tipping is beneficial for all involved parties.
For the consumer: The direct service cost is amalgamated with the expected gratuity. This means that if you're short on money, you can opt out for a reduced meal. Moreover, the power to withold a tip as a consumer directly leads to better service.
For the server: Improvements in servicing skills draws a direct increase to one's earning potential. Most low skilled jobs have a hard ceiling on earning potential, but being an effective server essentially has no ceiling. The benefits of vocational skill acquisitions can't be overstated for part time or entry level workforce participants, especially not when they directly lead to increases in income.
For the business: Lower labour overhead allows competitive pricing whilst still allowing for employee retention. Moreover, tipping acts as a soft check on employee performance reducing management oversight.
Everyone benefits from living in a tipping culture, and sure, these benefits won't immediately disappear if you fail to tip. However, these benefits require a critical mass of the population in order to exist, and failing to do your part in maintaining the afformentioned culture for your convenience harms everyone else, and makes you look like a nigger. Blacks can't build successful societies because they can't abstract their individual behaviours into social trends, even if in doing so they reap a net reward.
Don't be a nigger.
Tip your server.
dude, all of that her and them, emotional baggage bullshit, how the fuck is that your problem at the dinner table with i assume your obese wife or pillow? it's a business, expect them to have that shit sorted. do you love losing in house customers to grubhub and delivery services? because this is how you get that.
>20-25% is customary
What are you smoking and where can I get some?
Wait but how did Tyler know? The waitress complained to him, a completely different customer that doesn't even work there or anything? What a bitch thing to do.
Minimum wage is far too low
How dare they be poor around here..
Let's hope your never poor user.
In America, your waiter or waitress is a something like a maître d'. They ensure that any requests that you have for your dining experience are fulfilled as you request them, or even if it just seems like you might want them. They make you feel welcome, they make you feel like you deserve special attention and treatment. They make sure that your dining experience is as close to exactly as you desire as possible, and the vast majority of the service they provide is complimentary.
I think the last restaurant I went to was a fucking Burger King for a regular whooper and an impossible whooper
No idea why but I fucking love impossible whoopers
which jacksonville applebees do you work at? on a scale of white to heat death of the universe, how much of a nigger are you.
Its also a lie. The employer is required to pay the difference if you don't make minimum wage with your tips. Shill harder fag
What is the minimum wage? Because in my experience a lot of people who complain they don't earn enough are living waaaay above their means.
>If tips were abolished and waiters had only minimum wage 90% would immediately quit job
If tips were abolished, then the managers would have to immediately offer more pay to waiters so that they could keep their restaurants open.
However, if only some restaurants tried to eliminate tipping, many waiters would still quit because they would choose the chance of making more from tips over the stability of a steady guaranteed wage.
Considering you just made an excellent case for enjoying the benefits of a tipping culture without ever actually tipping, no
I'm not an amerimutt so waiters get paid decent wages. I don't tip. Not that I would anyway if they didn't have good wages.
if you work a beggars job without benefits and don't claim earnings you eventually burden us white folk with your health issues, shitting babys out, uninsured motorists, etc bullshit. get a real fucking job and pay into the society you bed to be apart of.
That wasn't the whole story. I was a little cocky and flirted a bit. But I'm sure the tip was 70% the reason.
Are you kidding? I don't eat there. And that's fine, it's probably not the kind of restaurant you'd be at anyways. That sounds like an insult, but it's not really; it's daddy's boys trying to impress their golddiggers with papa's credit card.
Sometimes there are staff changes. There are a couple restaurants that I've been a regular at for years. Sometimes they hire a new waitress that is incompetent, and the tip reflects that. Sometimes they hire a new chef that is incompetent, and the tip DOESN'T reflect that, because the tip is a statement about the waitress, not the chef.
Depends. Federal is $7.25/hr, but a lot of states set their min higher than that. Where I live its $12/hr
"Best" country in the world barely can sort out it's entry level job sector without crushing rednecks feels.
The highest (percent) tip I ever gave was at a family restaurant in northwest Arizona. Great food, great service, nice people.
$12 lunch, I left 'em a Twenty - 67% tip
Smallest non-zero tip I ever left was 10¢ for a snooty asshole in Northern California.
way too much honestly. making america great again requires a much much poorer class than we have now. bring the jobs back, make poor whites work it, keep iphone prices the same. how is it so difficult to see this is the plan.
there's no one forcing you, no. However, if you fail to do so then you'll be rightly treated by the rest of the general populace as human garbage.
Depends on service. Fuck that % bull crap. If you're a shitty server then you get a shit tip.
get food poisoning cunt
I have literally never had that experience. Even in fancy restaurants, the waitstaff are just entitled cocks
I always leave 2 to 5 dollars
Do they actually taste like meat? Or at least like Burger King "meat"?
I still don't get it.. Whats the service? Being nice and smiling? What's this fucking service? Bringing your food? How often are you interacting with the wait staff? For me, they'll bring my food I'll say thank you, eat, pay and leave, I never engage them again and I have zero expectations from the wait staff so to me, tipping the cook makes more sense.
Not all tip-driven jobs are entry level. When you think tip-driven, you probably think pizza delivery guy or the waitress at some cheap ass diner.
I know bartenders that would take home $400 a night in tips. I know people that work in high end restaurants that make $600 per night in tips. That shit's not entry level.
Exactly!
I did come back and give her that 20$ but that was the absolute last penny she’ll ever see from me.
This was my favorite spot too so why I constantly peeked in asking is Bitch face here?
Yes: I’ll see y’all later
No: Good my usual Supreme beef nachos and 2 beers mi amigo
And kill all the poor blacks and hispanics.
ENGRISH You speak it?
There is no service. Its a no skill cuck carrying a plate of food 30 ft and expecting $10 for it because muh atmosphere
Yeah and because of that requirement, our local diner has 2 great waitresses and 4 shit ones and they have to tip share across the week. We live in a higher end town, and generous tipping is normal, but if I tip the good ones 15 bucks on a 40 dollar meal, that gets split to the two shitty ones on the shift. I don't tip one of them anymore because I know her privately and I just give her her tips when I see her at the bar.
7 is definitely low but 12 is perfectly fine for that sort of job.
I don't live in the U.S so prices vary and whatever but I was making 12.5 working as an apprentice carpenter when I was 16 and that was more than enough to rent a place, buy food and shit. A lot of people just live above their means and want that latest iPhone and shit.
LMAO retard
I don't tip unless I'm out with friends or family who would start an argument if I don't - the price of a small tip is a cheap way to avoid a topic that nobody will ever agree on (see this thread)
I hate the tipping system in the US, people should be paid fairly for their labor, not expected to work for less with the expectation that customers will take pity on them. I don't tip because I don't want to contribute to keeping injustice alive.
You need to eat down south, more. Friendly as fuck. Make you feel like a friend or family. If you're a regular they'll genuinely become interested in your life and invite you to shit like barbecues or birthdays or weddings. If it's a slow day they may sit with you for a while if you're good company. And the whole time making sure that you want for nothing.
Goddamn I love the south.
This is hilarious? Tipping is mandatory in America? I knew you guys were fucking idiots. In my country you tip somebody if they did something extraordinary and you want to fuck them later
It’s a much drier burger but it’s still passable “meat”
I like eating the impossible burger 1st then the regular one because the regular one tastes so much better now.
don't make every customer you're HR rep. management is getting paid, no? not our fucking problem.
Thats definetly part of the problem. In the states we also have a huge problem with people feeling entitled to more than they're worth. These combine in a horribly beautiful fashion in the service industry. Thats how a food parambulator winds up expecting cash from you for doing the bare minimum to not get fired
Think of it this way: Your cash tips are completely untaxed. They don't have to claim them as wages. The owner gets to have a labor force that costs them a pittance, allowing them to order better ingredients or hire more or better cooks. More profit, less overhead, and the wait staff makes more money than they would if they were paid minimum wage and weren't allowed to accept tips.
>jacksonville
What, like Florida? I don't live in that hell-hole. Also, never worked at an Applebee's, thank fuck.
>on a scale of white to heat death of the universe
I don't know why this is making me laugh so hard, but it is.
>how much of a nigger are you
Why am I a nigger? Because I have standards for something? I would have thought that'd make the opposite of a nigger. Sorry I have standards for something like the service I receive in a restaurant and I don't just blindly throw gobs of extra money at whoever waits on me no matter how well they do it.
>people should be paid fairly for their labor
Yes, but they are not.
>I don't tip because I don't want to contribute to keeping injustice alive.
No, you don't tip because you are a cheap arrogant asshole.
What’s the point?
You’ll still have niggers they’ll just be white now.
Is English not your first language? Because that shit's incoherent.
Why does a waiter deserve more than minimum wage?
Perhaps. I grew up in the upper midwest and live out west these days. Only been to the south once, but holy hell were they friendly. You just might have a point user
beggars, and to think you'll ever be a part of that minority is stupid and gambling with your futures. they still don't get benefits ffs. but i guess if beggars were smart they wouldn't be one in the first place.
>Your cash tips are completely untaxed. They don't have to claim them as wages.
Lrn2taxation fgt pls
Sure, but those white nigger's children might have potential, or we can just induct them into the army and use them as fodder.
Not like black children, who'll never amount to anything because they put everything on becoming either a rapper or a professional athlete.
parambulator - new word, thanks user.
I got invited to my barber’s wedding
Probably one of the nicest weddings I ever been to.
I fucking miss Adam
Why do the good have to get fucking stomach cancer and die?
I mean, he did carry your food 20-40ft without tripping. Help the mongols out man
they do have to claim them. they don't because they're leaches off society.
Are burguers really this STUPID?
Also, why average North americans are so Dumb?
American here. To be completely honest, my tips are based in large part on how much I want to bury my dick inside my waitress.
Why would you need employer provided benefits when you can purchase benefits on your own, that'll likely be of a vastly superior quality?
I would happily trade employer-provided benefits for a wage increase that allowed me to buy my own.
Are you me? I had a barber named Adam who also died of stomach cancer, but that was in Massachusetts.
Idk. Why can't you figure out what to capitalize?
You’d be surprised how many blacks are in the military
I swear jail, military and sports are like 80-60-70% black guys respectfully
i can tell you've literally never had a job with benefits. holy shit lololol
>all the wannabe Chads come to try to flex for their dates
When all you have is a hammer, all your problems look like nails.
Sad.
>Why do the good have to get fucking stomach cancer and die?
It does seem sometimes like the ones who get cancer are the never the ones that deserve it. Life's a bitch, ain't it?
R.I.P. Adam the Barber.
This cuck lol. Imagine being satisifed with employer provided benefits
I cook and the wait staff tips me out of choice because i make sure the food is three things.
1 hot
2 tasty
3 what the want
why should i not help them get better tips so they give me better tips
only tip when with a woman to act like you are rich
otherwise if they are a nigger spic or any other race than who belongs here: no tip.
The government has no right to the fruits of your labor. The only reason people pay taxes at all is because the government threatens you with force.
Now, I don't mind paying sales tax, or road tax, or schools tax, or even property tax provided that the infrastructure around that property is maintained so I continue to have access to electricity, sewer and water, but I fucking HATE income tax.
Georgia So no.
Happened about 3 months ago.
Adam was a good man would give you the shirt off his back,
not to be a dick, but you just argued for consistent higher wages for wait staff. like, a salary and consistent livable wage. did you just self actualize?
Yeah, they seem to think just throwing money at whatever girl they're with is actually gonna get them anything other than a gold digger. Actually feels kinda bad now that I think about it.
Life’s a bitch and You gotta fuck her.
>Why would you leave one at all?
To show it's not me being a cheap motherfucker, but an actual statement to them and their manager who has to tally up the credit card receipts that the service sucks.
How much do you bait, op? And is it manditory? I'm gonna be visiting Cred Forums on my computer next week. Will it collapse if you don't fag it up with bait?
Nice larp. Cooks aren't tipped at 95%+ of American restaurants. I fuck up food on purpose if the waitress/waiter is being a cunt to me. Hurts them, but I get paid the same regardless
you literally just described yourself as loving being a socialist. fire and police? enjoy them to? go read atlas shrugged again.
Because they wouldn’t be able to get they’re retarded 400$ in a night tips user
I'm not sure how you inferred that. If they make the amount of money that allows them to buy their own wages through tipping, then the employer doesn't have to provide a higher wage, which means the restaurant has less overhead and can hire more people.
I like the tipping system.
>Let's hope your never poor user.
I have been dirty poor, I've gone hungry on more than one occasion while actually holding a (shitty paying) job, and I never once treated the world as a garbage dump.
That's a big reason the chronically homeless are chronically homeless. Who would want to hire someone who has no respect for anyone else?
15% in minimum.
20% is standard
It goes down quickly with your shitty attitude, poor service. As for if I get cold or undercooked/overcooked food, that isn't your fault....maybe the cold might be but I'm usually understanding and send it back. If I feel like you're a fuck off, i'll grab your manager and speak to them. If I feel like you kicked ass, i'll tip well then compliment you to your manager.
BUT
Lets face fucking reality here, it's 2020. Why does America not just pay it's workers a realistic wage and let tips be ACTUAL FUCKING TIPS. If you're making $10-12 an hour, and I slip you a fiver, thats a fucking tip.
Tipping as it is now is mandatory and that doesn't make it a fucking tip now does it?
You're an idiot.
Its bullshit. They pay them nothing and expect the employees to share tips and claim them. Fuck that.
Checked.
TIPS = To Insure Proper Service.
Formerly paid before the service was rendered, it was essentially a bribe for them not to fuck anything up.
Then you're retarded
Of course not we’ve just been brainwashed by Jews user
Kinda makes more sense that way
I always tip at least 50% unless service is shitty in which case I demand to see the boss and bitch about the staff to them.
I offer $15 max for an hours worth of service. It's legal minimum hourly wage.
I agree that min wage for tipped employees is bullshit. But how does that make it my job to pay the difference? If some dumb fuck accepts a job for $2.50 an hour how is that my problem?
I usually ask the staff member why he deserves a tip from me.It’s funny as fuck to hear their answers. Unless the waitress is hot with big tits then I always tip high.
Hey Cred Forums, server here. Way I see it, we only get 2.13 an hour. And a dollar goes to the bus people, so that sucks too. Our wage depends on tips to make at least 70 a day (about 7-8 tables for me), and that depends on the restaurant we work in. Basically, being a server does not give you a guaranteed wage. So tipping is highly respectable and shows that you appreciate the place you dine in. You’re basically paying for the service of the meal when you tip. People have given me 1 dollar tips before and it sucks, but I’m not serving to survive at the moment, just to save money for college or whatever else might peak my interest.
People do give shit service though, lotta junkies in the restaurant industry. So they should really just raise the wage for us in America, that way tipping can ethically be reasonable like many anti-tippers try to insist.
Hope this helped a little, tipping is ultimately up to you. Hopefully you’ll feel generous, it makes our day when someone gives at least 10%
>inb4 get a better job, the world needs servers until the are replaced by robots, and I would do my job better than a robot could anyways
The wage is that low because the customer is EXPECTED to tip.
But user, you ARE a robot. Definition 3.
Optional*
Not reasonable
10% is the amount, anything more then that your being way to Generous and blowing your money.
Tipping historically was the Wage of a server, that was replaced with a Salary and Minimum wage.
unfortunately do to Emotional Black male and Waitress's who should be fired immediately they are guilt tripping communities to pay them a Double salary for barely doing a Job. in the 2000's the French Government moved the Tipping amount to 15% (in a country where they don't have a Wage) and servers started programming their machines across north America to be 15% because they are greedy and don't know what it means to work hard. they can Go fuck themselves seriously servers are the Scum these days Greedy Scum and they make the restaurant service Unenjoyable.
Again, how is that my problem? If you expect to live on the charity of strangers, you're either an idiot or a leech
Do your fucking job better if you want a bigger tip faggot. Not my job to put you through college.
20% tip is mandatory unless you're trash
Yes I know, but they don’t HAVE to and humanity ends up going to shit when they don’t HAVE to do anything, people take shit too far or don’t take it at all at least 67% of the time.
My best friend and I were out for lunch (less than $20) and he asked me for $10 - I thought he was short-funded, so I gave it to him.
The lusty sonofabitch added it to his own $10 tip for our hot waitress - more than 100% tip.
If you really are upset with the Cost of Living Complain to the Real estate Boards for Raising your community house prices to Unaffordable levels, the Interest on Bank Loans, (because as a Community Store owners Raise their Prices to make you pay for it) and the Cost of Bread. these are the Things that are bank rupting you and nobody is fighting to stop it.
this is like the most cuck somehow anti capitalist also somehow anti socialist way of putting it. it's like you just want rolled napkins shoved up your ass.
I agree it's bullshit but they need it since their pay sucks ass.
I like the idea, but the IRS disagrees with that analysis.
See en.wikipedia.org
That was a case about the practice of tipping casino dealers. The dealers argued that the tokens ("tokes") they received were gifts because it would be illegal for them to give any kind of preferential service to those who gave them tips. The court disagreed and found that the tips were taxable.
>I decide who belongs here
fuck off, immigrant spawn
I bet she greedily sucked hisdick afterwards too!
^not
bj swallows in most metro areas are $40. be a bro and get him sucked off do he's not such a retard next time.
>If you expect to live on the charity of strangers, you're either an idiot or a leech
You know tipping is an expected part of the system.
If you're too cheap to leave a tip, you're too poor to eat out.
I hear you can get really good deals on "chicken" nuggets at Walmart.
Whatever helps you sleep at night but work on getting a real job
Come on now, that attitude won't help them
>go read atlas shrugged again.
found the Randian
>I actually can handle bad tippers okay
>no you don't you have the kind of life I imagine you have in my macho larps
>obviously everybody's life is as shitty as mine
This guy bought into the tipping meme lol
But in all seriousness, if they agree to work for $2.50 an hour, thats their business. Expecting me to compensate them for work their boss deems worthless is beyond idiotic. Whats life like for you highschool dropouts?
Waiters would make far less money
I never tip, literally no other service worker gets tips but waiters.
People tip because it’s mostly entitled women that are waiters and they feel like they should get paid more than some tradesmen to waddle their asses around for a few hours.
Fuck tipping. And I rarely eat at sit down restaurants so miss me with that revenge bullshit.
if you're too poor to live without a tip, you're too poor to.. shit.. maybe live in america?
and don't even bs. it's not like you're getting groceries delivered from whole foods to your home because you both don't own a home a beggars wages and don't have one close by because you're a fucking beggar.
I only tip if bitch brings my food hot and lets me touch her titties.
>How is it my problem
>how is that my problem
>how is that my problem
It's not your "problem" at issue, it's your dignity - or rather, lack of it.
>no other service worker gets tips but waiters
What Are Parking Valets, Porters, and Bellhops?
>imagine paying extra tax to get the food that you paid for so that your dead ass loitering waiter who is paid for bringing you food yet is never around when you need one can shoot coke off of some millennial girls ass who lost her way in life at 2am behind some generic trap house just to wake up the next day extremely dependent on several morning coffees and yelling at his mother instead of living within means available like in normal society not obsessed with the big american dollar
i tip delivery guy because i order my food in dead of night
if youre not paid enough at your work without extras, leave
tips are not extras
>doesn't pay people for doing their job because their boss does that
>has no dignity
Pick one, cuck
people i never interact with
I make $41/hour and I have no degree. I work as a level 1 hospital systems analyst.
I don’t believe in tipping because the waiter chose a shit job. I grew up poor as fuck and never had the opportunity to go to college. I finessed my way into a baller ass job and it’s entry level.
Make better life choices. You have no excuse. Most waiters and shit only serve because it’s easy and they can party while still doing the job. They’re shit people. My wife’s best friend is our age and fucking waiting tables. She gave up an opportunity to work as a TSA agent entry at $28/hour because ‘she couldn’t do it’. Couldn’t do what? A real job? FUCK TIPPING
>you're too poor to.. shit.. maybe live in america
"I'm living in America, and in America you're on your own.
America's not a country; it's just a business. Now fuckin' pay me."
– Brad Pitt (as Jackie Cogan), "Killing Them Softly" (2012)
>people i am ignorant about
FTFY
I like you
>Pick one for me
...that is easy: «has no dignity»
Agreed. People who tip have no dignity. Thanks for clearing that up for me
>the waiter chose a shit job
...out of all the excellent jobs available to that person?
You privileged arrogant asshole.
thats not very nice Im not OR :(
Fucking GOTTEM Tippers on FUCK watch
>cant pat down grannies and loot at xray screen
why because its boring?
really some waiters only do it because they have no other marketable skills
So you do your job wrong and get paid the same i do my job right and make extra is what your telling me
>carry food 30 ft and expect cash for not tripping
>learn a trade
Yeah, those poor people, choosing to put in zero effort. We'd better support their shit decisions!
Waitering is a great part-time job.
If you count on it for more than that, you made a big mistake somewhere along the line of your life.
How is it being a deaf waiter? Must be hard. Ever get salty that you have no marketable skills?
Lol privileged ? Read my fucking post faggot. I came up and made something for myself. To be honest it sounds like my post made you a bit butt hurt, did I hit the right spot? Are you waiting tables past the age of 20? Reevaluate your life choices. Drop some of those other worthless friends. Do something.
But above all, don’t expect me to tip lol
>I know they chose to put in zero effort
No, you do not.
You know fckn nothing about them.
She was offered the fucking job as a hookup lol literally a friend of mine is the director at our airport and she was offered the job AND declined it!! Fucking amazed me.
>you made a big mistake
...for which you deserve some kind of punishment?
I've worked in restaurants for 7 years hon. I know plenty about them. Lazy, entitled, and useless is a fair descriptor for a good 90% of waitstaff
>I came up and made something for myself.
Therefore you are some kind of privileged asshole?
I'm making money working how is that not marketable? and i can take my experience anywhere. here is a skill you could learn do your job even if you don't feel like it.
First off, if the driveway bit is true, kek.
Second, what happens in this situation? I assume she got in contact with Uber and said she never got what she paid for. Are you just informed by Uber that you're fired or what? Do you get another opportunity?
>Lazy, entitled, and useless is a fair descriptor
...from your point of view?
Here in Las Vegas, that it not the case.
I'm working for 4.60 euros an hour (before tax which is about 1/3 in east europe)
Part time job at that TSA position would make me rich in comparison.
>be fucking grateful you lazy american schmucks
Ahh yes, your $3/hour skill, that any stoned highschooler could do just as well. Color me shocked when I have to pay your unemployment
*is*
Never been to Vegas, perhaps you guys are the one exception. But in the majority of the country servers only exist because they're cheaper than robots.
>I have to pay your unemployment
Lrn2unemployment-insurance fgt pls
>Never been to Vegas
Come some time, bring money, and tip your servers.
>taxpayers don't pay for government benefits
Lrn2finace fag
I'll come, I'll bring money, but unless my meal comes with a complementary blowjob I'm not tipping. But if it does I'll tip well.
unemployment insurance is not a "government benefit", you unlettered retard
>I'm not tipping
Be sure not to stay long.
im back off house not front they pay me a livable wage because i do the work you don't see i take pride in doing a good job you make food wrong on propose not only are stupid but wasteful. but hey if cooking is to hard for you man try serving
Whats it like being the biggest tard on Cred Forums?
I mean, that's a serious achievement, in a way....
Oh no, are you and your dropout buddies going to find me in an alley or something?
Cooking is fine. I just don't take shit from entitled servers. Granted, it tends to not be an issue, but if it is I have no problem tanking their tips
>not knowing the difference between "insurance" and "benefit"
...you fckn retard.
This town is notoriously unfriendly to you cheapskate bastards.
I see I'm wrestling with pigs here. Enjoy the deadend job mate
I understand not being a doormat for servers. They are very annoying most of the time. I just personally believe if its not food you would except at a sit down restaurant why even put it out and thats a quick way to get fired
Oh no, no the vague threats of a waiter!
Enjoy the view from the cheap seats kid
>I'm wrestling with pigs
Follow your destiny, pig-wrestler; but don't try to take it into the legal realm, for which you are clearly unsuited.
>the cheap seats
...is where the action is, HotShot.
