I told her I always tip, but in this instance her service is reflective of what I am tipping. My GF pulled out a $10 dollar bill to tip her. There's tons of airheads but its also filled with geniuses, and of course everything inbetween. It is really like any other place and mostly depends on the circles you run in. It has its issues but it has its benefits.

I don't like disney but I go to universal halloween horror nights each year, plus all the scary mazes that pop up back then. we got nude beaches 2 hours north and 2 hours south, regular beaches are an hour away by bus (plus I can still skinny dip there at night), and some of the best food in the world. I had a friend visit from germany and he just couldn't comprehend the sheer magnitude of it all. Even our lower level theater of students you're friends with was impressive to him. We paid 4 bucks for a show he said would have cost 50 in his country and he'd still have to drive out to the city to see it.

I tip based on whatever I feel the server has earned but usually I'm fairly generous ($20 on a $50 check) I also usually don't tip more than a couple bucks at a buffet because there is significantly less work involved.(although I have heard that golden corral workers make fucking BANK) To answer your question, I doubt they'll spit in your food because usually your check doesn't come until you're done. That being said they might not be as nice the next time you come in.
