persecution is one of the biggest selling points for conservatives. for some reason a lot of people on the internet have this victim complex where everyone is out to get them, and the conservatives feed into that. so not only are they out there focusing on people being jerks to create this false perception that the world is out to get conservatives. it's why troll culture goes hand in hand with conservatism. because they're out there creating 24/7 arguments where they're indulging their self victimization.

Your premise is that conservatives are "disrespectful assholes" by default, which is not the case; on the contrary, the vast majority of conservatives are the type that treat other with equal respect echoing Lincoln's "all men [all humans] are created equal".
Conservative are generally much more thick skinned as well, so some playful banter of depreciating humor towards friends is just in fun, but the "snowflake" types could easily take it too seriously.
Beyond that, a conservative can be an extreme asshole if provoked, but rarely do such traits present themselves unwarranted. i.e.
