It is fortunate on your part that I was lurking. Cred Forums so far my mendicant rummaging is proving desolate... especially tonight. Not even a Battle Royal thread is up. Cred Forums would probably be a better place for politics. Also, if you want to quickly get a sample population size on Cred Forums based on political leaning, leave a poll out and ask a basic question to get a yes or no answer, e.g. "what are you thoughts about Cred Forums?". Putting a porn pic or etc could help as a lure. Otherwise Cred Forums is a very empty place to go to and not worth the trouble.

My point is that I try to show people they're wrong abuot something with facts and statistics, actual sources and studies, so the cognitive dissonance kicks in and they refuse to admit they're wrong which in turn gets heated, and I'm actually trying to inform people so they learn to do research rather than spout rhetoric. It ends up getting personal because I'm an asshole sometimes, and a few people have left. Hell, one person left a few weeks ago because I posted a news article about how evil Amazon is for threatening to fire their employees if they spoke out about climate change, and one guy left because his bf works for Amazon and it hurt his feelings because he's actually autistic. That kind of shit, people not wanting certain fringe topics to be against their perception and it ends badly when I'm just trying to help people learn how to do their research.

That was me growing up. When I was little I was always well meaning to help others and inform them on facts, errors, trying to be helpful and actively curtious. I learned to only give help if people ask for it and are receptive, otherwise the message is lost. If you desire to speak to people about these things there are specific times and places for them. I learned to keep quiet for the most part, I just focus on myself. If you desire to do acts of charity which is something I desired, I do volunteer work and am part of several organizations to do that. It can be frustrating but that is how the world is. Also, act from a position of humility always when interacting with others. Pride is the worst thing to have in these situations!
