Those "curtain rods" had only the purpose of holding that deflector in place, to prevent any residual blast from the hypergolic engines, they didn't have to be excessively strong, and they had to be as light as possible. They served no otehr purpose than that.

THIS IS NOT A LOVE SONG

Hard to tell sometimes. There was a big thread on Cred Forums the other day with people seemingly, unironically, posting flat Earther stuff and "space is fake". Using Bible verses as proof or claiming that the USA and USSR worked together to fake the Space Race.
It's becoming increasingly difficult to tell dedicated trolls apart from legit schizos. Though if they're both going to spend a bunch of time posting the same stuff then they may as well be the same group.

what's the appeal? you realize "moon landing is fake" started as soviet propaganda?

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Active_measures

>Fabrication of the story that AIDS virus was manufactured by US scientists at Fort Detrick; the story was spread by Russian-born biologist Jakob Segal.

>Starting rumors that fluoridated drinking water was in fact a plot by the US government to affect population control

>Use of sympathetic elements in the press to libel the Strategic Defense Initiative as an impractical "star wars" scheme

In fact...

>According to Stanislav Lunev, GRU alone spent more than $1 billion for the peace movements against the Vietnam War, which was a "hugely successful campaign and well worth the cost".[24] Lunev claimed that "the GRU and the KGB helped to fund just about every antiwar movement and organization in America and abroad".[24]

moon landing is real but hippies weren't. stranger than fiction, as they say.

all HD photos are here in the Apollo Lunar Surface Journal, but you have to dig through hundreds of photos they took on each mission. Many rolls of film were used, during the EVA they wore multiple thick gloves, light conditions were not ideal, and they had to look down at their chest to aim the cameras. Good luck on finding the good ones:

For goodness sake stop asking the wrong question! It really doesn't matter now whether we went to the moon or not. The real question to ask now, 50 years after the event, is, what did they follow it up with?

We should, by now, have refuelling stations in orbit, a permanent base on the moon, re-usable rockets as standard, nuclear rockets for deep space travel, and the first footprints on Mars.

it proves that you need to learn how they made things work. Those diagrams help.

if the governments got their act together and started really pushing into space, we could easily have had it by now. Only problem is there is still so many domestic problems in so many countries, and that the world governments just don't want to give away so much money. It's a shame, but that's just how it is

thanks for the link user

Attached: couchto5k.jpg (900x900, 109K)

yes, there is no money to be made in space other than elite tourism. Peace first, then adventure, I guess.

I guess you could do stuff like asteroid mining, but damn that would cost so much money and be so difficult to successfully pull off. I really do want to go to space though, hopefully they do make cheap space tourism in my lifetime

No worries, you should go look for the Space Shuttle missions and the ISS mission photos as well, they have some real HD nowadays, you can see individual rivets on the structures and the stitching on the spacesuits, it's amazing. There's no way I can upload one of those here, not even on /hd

Attached: AP11-69-HC-342 -The S-IVB third stage is moved into position for mating.jpg (900x1200, 205K)

then they grabbed the command and service modules and loaded them into the final stage

Attached: AP11-69-HC-439 - CSM is mated to the spacecraft adapter.jpg (912x1200, 269K)

or we could also mine the moon

Attached: 11272.jpg (512x3292, 724K)

here you can see the landing module within the last stage, with the legs retracted so it could fit inside.

The command and service modules are on top of the stage and form the cone of the rocket.

I really like the assembly sequence, engineering on massive scale

Iraq has WMDs

So, your theory is that they've built a Saturn V (actually several of them) that could launch into orbit, but somehow didn't have enough budget for a small studio prop ?

Makes perfect sense ...

Amen Cred Forumsro

these are great shots user, first time seing the assembly in that quality

It folds, you fucking retard.

might as well finish with a proper HD version of that photo so you can observe the ultra-lightweight isolation and structural materials on the lunar module. It had to be kept as light as possible and there is no need for aerodynamic concerns, that's why it looked like that.

Attached: AS11-40-5922HR - close-up of LM.jpg (2349x2373, 787K)

It truly is stunning

TIL: The tires were transparent.

That's because they're cheap inflatables.

back then they had no graphic computing.. insane to think that they build everything out of drawings, diagrams and schematics

The tyres were made of specially crafted wire, to reduce size, weight and minimise the risk of punctures. It's pretty interesting, and clever

What kind of faggot believes in a round earth?

Area 51 retard, they had the technology they just didn't show it

Proof? Oh wait...

it looks like crap because they were in a rush to get to the moon before the USSR,
but who cares if it works as intended, their final goal was reached

Now post pictures of how they built the moon set, shill.

LMAO

Dude. You can literally get a telescope and point it at the right coordinates on the moon and literally see the stuff we left there

It was foldable. Literally die and your mother too for creating you.

oh shit I just noticed, maybe it's better to spot any damage so they can fix it just in case

kek. You're the one with the delusional theory that the moon landing was faked. Why don't you give evidence for it? Show me where the moon landing was faked, because I can say 'go outside, look up, and that's where the moon landing happened' and it's true unless you prove otherwise

Nobody had a counter argument to that. Sad

just gonna leave this here

BABAHAHAHAHAH

Incel

How would you know what they tell people in school?

Also faggot, please refute this
youtube.com/watch?v=zhp-FTYSGe8

attacking the simplicity of materials is a weak argument. intelligent people do more with less and don't let assumptions and prejudice get in the way of accomplishing a task as simply and efficiently as possible. a scientific approach often produces counterintuitive solutions that fly right over brainlets heads.

you can't really see that with a telescope on earth but the LRO took pictures of the Apollo sites in 2011

Attached: Apollo_17-2011.jpg (650x312, 127K)

Unfortunately no telescope can do that, it's just too far away and too small for the best optical telescope to discern the details. However, at least lunar orbiters have photographed the landing sites now, it's really cool to see the photos.

Attached: 515423main_020411b.jpg (1000x1000, 300K)

Is NASA's cock made of chocolate? Why are you sucking it so hard right now? Plenty of evidence of NASA's lies in this and other threads. The thing about government coverups is that they're... covered up. Open your mind and do your own research.

show me some evidence then please. All you've proved in this thread so far is that you're mentally retarded

It's far more easy to prove that the natural born criminal Russians are using these fake meme campaigns to lie about NASA

Follow the money, always. You do it yourself you've just conviced yourself that your shit doesn't stink.

Not the OP and not your search engine scooter. The fact that you're this upset about anyone challenging atheist orthodoxy tells me all I need or want to know about you. NASA's propaganda machine is real and working fine unlike everything else about them.

Maybe your head is stuck so far up your ass that you don't remember what shit smells like, that's usual for your types.

What precisely are you on about you fucking nigger? You're claiming one thing but not making a point. How about try to make a point you fucking pathetic nigger?

da fuk does this thread have to do with theism or not?!?! Did anyone call the "god" topic to this round-table? Let's talk aircraft engineering, does that also involve your religious beliefs?

It seems like OP wants to go for make believe, yammering like a faggot and making no point. That shit wont pass at any aerospace company.

>no evidence
ok
>upset
I'm not upset, I just really hate you retards who, despite having all of the information humanity has every collected at the tip of your fingertips, still magage to believe in the retarded shite the greeks proved wrong over 200 years ago. It's disrespectful that you retards still live and breathe, let alone actually try to speak like you know what you're talking about

The reason god is on the table is that these crackpot retards have no way to explain how the planet was created as a pancake other than 'muh magic man in the sky'

Stupid and racist. What a pleasant person, sure you're a real treat to be around. You ever been to space yourself? Thought not, you just swallow what the glow worms give you uncritically because reality is scary. It's never even occurred to you that NASA has a complete monopoly over "information" regarding the earth and space has it? I guess when you're a narcissist who thinks he knows everything already there's no point asking questions. Have a nice life genius.

That's because they have to sell books and justify their crappy degrees when they can't say that they don't know.

grandpa worked at NASA in the 60/70s

I work at NASA since 2009

AMA

welcome home faggot

where is the moon prop hidden?

So what is the point of NASA in 2020 considering we don't have any shuttles and there's no planned space missions and even if there was said missions would also be pointless?

why would they be pointless?

If we can afford a research station at the South Pole, a dead end ITER fusion reactor, a Keck Telescope on a mountain in Hawaii and Hubble telescope in space, then I think we should at least have a permanent UNMANNED presence on the moon.

hard to believe, post proof ? pic of you at work or something

Because we already launched rovers and probes and found nothing of value to modern day life on Earth. Zero questions were answered no additional technology gained. Where's the payoff for all that money invested?

the same as any other scientific institute; a bulk of our research goes towards airplane models for the government, but there are pockets like I work in that are devoted to just straight up scientific studies. My dad researches effects on objects in different gravities and atmospheres, I work in a laser lab where we study light. There is very little of our facility dedicated to "space exploration", which is mostly astronomers studying space and watching for objects floating in front of distant stars.

on my phone, don't have any pics. on my computer at home, my desktop is of my first day with all 3 of us there. Grandpa passed away in 2012.

up your ass

>retards on b/

Attached: tenor (1).gif (498x249, 1.82M)

What are you fucking doing here? Looking thread like this to say everything Nasa says true?

What is there to be gained from investing money into a presence on the moon?

they have billions more proofs than you do.

In the past couple of years what has come out of NASA that has actually benefited the people in your opinion?

I would love to continue supporting NASA but I would also love to see the returns on those investments.

other than mining operations, very little

do you have info on the sls ? is it a solid program and do you think nasa will be back on the moon in the next decade ?

And if someone tells you a thing exists it must? Great logic

Every can of carbonated drink you buy at a store constantly resists a much greater pressure difference than the LEM ever had to. At some parts its walls were basically foil, it was designed never to be operated in atmosphere. If an astrounaut kicked the wall he could puncture it. It wasn't a safe machine, but it went where nobody went before.

well if we look up at night we see space, which is pretty decent evidence. Thats not including every photo of space taken ever, which is also pretty strong evidence

Wouldnt it be astronomically expensive to transport heavy materials mined on the moon back to Earth? Thus eliminating the point of mining it.

probably. I mean, they could do something interesting like using really shit rockets to just about get it moving and then drop it in the ocean, but i dont know

There are pictures of bigfoot too
