taking into account that there's about 4000 new cases each day, that 2% death rate is fairly inaccurate. One leads to look at cases that went through to disease termination, leading to either a cure or death, and of those, the death rate is about 26% as of last night. Taking into account that the disease is more contagious than regular flu and ebola, this is a very serious situation.

No it fucking isn't. What percent of people die from the Flu? ~0.2%. A 2% rate is 10 times more lethal (and that's trusting Chinese official numbers). In addition, when the flu comes around you don't have your KIDNEYS FAIL. And the flu doesn't spread to literally everyone that comes in contact with an infected person, because there is some immunity in the population and vaccines.

And the CDC backs up these numbers. Of ~45 Million Flu infections in 2017-2018 (A really nasty flu year), at highest 95,000 deaths. Literally 0.2%. And that's over a 6 month period.

It's not completely unrelated to the flu and cold.

But since our bodies have no idea it's a virus straight away. It can replicate itself undetected for longer in our bodies creating a more severe immune response.

Because of that it has a longer incubation time and people are able to pass it in without showing symptoms. Unlike SARS.

Some people will get it and it won't be any worse than the common cold. Others will die and many in between will have bad symptoms.

Right now for nCov-19, people who have recovered are able to be reinfected.
