You might not realize this, but if substances like meth or heroin (or various others) were legally sold at stores addicts would probably never be able to get clean for any meaningful amount of time. Part of getting clean is removing access and shifting your circle to no longer include users. If an addicts drug of choice is constantly available the inevitable consequence is that they will have a much higher frequency of relapse and we would expect to see a large increase in OD. For the edgelords here who think that people who get hooked on this shit deserve to die, realize that plenty get started as dumb fuck high schoolers with minimal brain development.
