Yes, it's awesome. Although I don't have that one on DVD or else I would probably rip it in HEVC as well.
I went to see Richard Stallman in Gothenburg, Sweden back in 2007. I have huge respect for him and the FSF, and I agree with the Free Software philosophy. Although the name of the documentary is "The Code: Story of Linux", not "The Code: Story of GNU/Linux". GNU/Linux is just a mouthful, it doesn't exactly roll off the tongue. That's why I usually say Linux, even though I understand a large part of a distro is actually the GNU system.
It's my rip. I was trying to achieve higher quality than the last DVDRip I made back in 2014. The old one was ripped using x264, not x265, and in a lower bitrate too. So this one uses a better codec and a higher bitrate, so the quality is quite a lot better.

No idea. I haven't googled him lately. I was sad to see he got rekt by cancel culture. The FSF will probably die without him, but it'll be a slow death and very painful to watch for all those who care about the FSF philosophy. Also, him being canceled happened like a week after he held his first speech ever at Microsoft, and I don't think that's a coincidence. It was a huge win for the free software / open source world, so of course it got a reaction from those at the top.

There are lots of conspiracy theories about Bill Gates. He does want some kind of population reduction, because like many other elite people he believes a small human population is the only way to live in balance with Earth and nature. I don't trust his philantropic work, and I'm suspicious about him wanting to vaccinate Africa. Since when has the world elite ever given a shit about Africa or black people? We know from his shenanigans at Microsoft that he's an untrustworthy scumbag, but him actually killing people I've not heard about. If he really wanted someone to die he could probably find a way that doesn't point back to him personally.

Talking about socialism, and talking in Swedish, is The Code. Maybe you're thinking of Revolution OS? That's another Linux docu but there's no Swedish in that one IIRC, and I think socialism isn't mentioned there either. But that docu has some of the same people that are in The Code.

I'm not much of a reader these days, not books anyway. I'll mostly watch interviews, keynotes and such on YouTube on this subject. Though I'll also read the occasional Wikipedia article, or documentation about a certain program I'm trying to figure out. As an example, I read most of the section on video filters in the ffmpeg documentation when I made the documentary rip :P Thanks for the book recommendations though, I'll put them in my to-read list.
