Highly recommend Breaking Bad. Game of thrones was good until the last season, arguably the last two.
Dexter was great until season 5, took a slight downturn and the finale was fucked. Overall a pretty good show though.

Outside of your choices you’ve got the Magicians. It’s a little libtarded but pretty fun to watch for what it is. The acting is really good. That being said, Black Mirror is also really good, but the latest season was kinda dog shit.

I think I caught a couple min of black mirror at some girls place once. seemed pretty sweet

It’s kinda like The Twilight Zone, which you should add to your list if you can handle an old show from the 50’s.

Black Mirror is more focused on current and advancing technologies that have crazy consequences.

don't ok boomer me, but "the sopranos" is gold standard god tier television. "breaking bad" feels to me like it was written by a crackhead on LSD. "better call saul" is far more mature.

"fargo" is the only show anywhere near the level of "saul", and "ozark" is brilliant but very distinct. "the detour" is fucking wicked and like as close to being as absurd as a live action "simpsons" i can imagine.

You say “don’t ok boomer me” and continue by saying BB was written by a crackhead on LSD?

I mean everything else you said was pretty true, especially the Sopranos, but Breaking Bad is a whole different kind of beast, boomer.

True Detective, Season 1 (Woody Harrelson and Matthew Mc.. McCoough... McConogoogaheyy).

I am a boomer and ive already watched sopranos ;)

I think ill watch Black Mirror. Sounds like something I don't have to invest a bunch of my time into and Twilight Zone was sweet

Lost

Dexter is SJW gore porn. Stupid show because you can't "intellectually" control psychopathy as show on the show.

The wire and breaking bad are the best shows ever made tbh. I don't watch much either. Wish I could feel as impressed and immersed by another, but not yet.

You are in luck, OP. I've seen over around 140 shows and I recently made my list of top 15 shows of all time.

Outside of the first two they are in no particular order.

Breaking Bad
The Wire
The Genius
It's Always Sunny
Line of Duty
Impractical Jokers
Better Call Saul
The Shield
Luther
Arrested Development
Game of Thrones
Rick and Morty
The Expanse
Succession
Black Mirror
The Boys
Nathan for You

Breaking Bad. If you enjoy it you can also check out Better Call Saul, its a spinoff but it really is good enough to deserve it's own show, still 2 more seasons coming (next season starts in 2 weeks)

Skip watching Game of thrones and just read the books, they're night and day more interesting. If you must watch, just view the 1st season. Its the the only season that follows the real story closely, later seasons are driven by character popularity contests and endless MacGuffins. The show ended the exact way everyone thought it would because the writers didn't have the balls to be creative and disappoint anyone.

GOT is actually good up until the books ran out and they had to ad lib. It's a bit mainstream but its also like the best show I've ever seen.

It was clear Game of Thrones was going downhill in seasons 5/6. In six they had that really awkward chase scene with Arya iirc and you could tell that it didn't feel as real, some characters had very clear plot armour, injuries didn't seem dangerous or impactful anymore.

the wire and the sopranos,

>Impractical Jokers
fuck off m8.

Rick and Marty.

>Breaking bad
I avoided this for years because it was too popular. And you just know that anything too popular is going to be annoying as hell. But now I am waiting for the fifth season to become available.

Breaking Bad. Trust me. Shows quality is way more consistent. You'll be hooked in a couple episodes. Game of Thrones is mostly good but it takes more to get into. You'll have a higher chance not dropping BB.

?

Also my top shows from last year.

The Boys
Chernobyl
Love, Death & Robots
What We Do in the Shadows
When They See Us
Russian Doll

sopranos
the wire
lost
buffy the vampire Slayer
angel
firefly
battlestar galactica

season 4 sucked

Not really into serial stuff that you have to keep up with.
Caught the first episode of Breaking Bad and I was hooked.

>Dexter is SJW gore porn. Stupid show because you can't "intellectually" control psychopathy as show on the show.
Read a psych book, Kid.

Sesame Street. Its supposed to look like a childrens show, but the screencaps they show here are very dark and funny.

West world should be on your list too

The Man in the High Castle

I loved californication, not gonna lie.

Breaking Bad is cliche for a reason. It deserves all the praise it gets.

GoT is great to start and just gets weaker and weaker and weaker. The end is so bad that it feels like a slap in the face for having sat through 8 seasons.

Dexter is just bad. I have no idea why anyone would recommend this show. The acting is atrocious. The story line is utterly unbelievable. The characters are uncompelling. This is normie tv for advertisement babies.

Going to get flack for this, but watch Rick and Morty. No, it won't make you smart, but it is sardonic and fun. Also give Curb Your Enthusiasm a try. It's not for everyone but if your sense of humor meshes with it, it scratches an itch only it can reach.

GoT died after the red wedding episode, which the show actually did well and faithfully to the story, meaning they killed off several popular characters. The problem is that in our modern complaint/gratification society people tweeted the show complaining about their favorite characters dying and threatened to stop watching. The show then caved to this manufactured pressure and started keeping fan favorite characters alive long after the original story did. There are characters alive in the final episode who actually died in book/season 3, garbage. That and yes everything after season 5 is made up cause the books stopped, but the show fell off the rails long before that.

breaking bad
>game of thrones becomes fanfiction
>dexter was all over the place.

there are plenty of complaints about breaking bad though. it is by far better than any of what you listed though.

I somewhat agree. When I was in the second season and extremely bored with it, I realized I could be watching something better, so I did.

Black mirror is okay but it's also a little try-hardey. It's kind of hit and miss. When it works, it works well. When it misses, it's pure cringe. Tons of needless sex too. nd don't get me wrong, titties are great. But it's a little cringey in itself how desperate they are to keep your attention that they resort to such cheap tactics. It says something about how the creators see their own product.

Explain how it was SJW gore porn please.

Breaking Bad
The Wire
Rome
Carnivale
Firefly
The Sopranos
Justified
Sons of Anarchy (maybe, becomes bromance, fun for a bit)
Preacher

Attached: ambien-walrus-says-lets-do-this.gif (600x372, 13K)

Yeah kinda agree. They really butchered Arya and Jon, but The Battle of The Bastards was probably the best battle scene I’ve ever witnessed.

Breaking Bad is so fucking boring, I am stunned again by the banality of Western civilization that it's so fuckign popular.

Can't go wrong with breaking bad.

Then follow up with better call Saul.

For comedy, I kinda like disjointed .

For some odd reason I've been working my way through trailer Park boys.

Game of thrones just looks stupid. Like they had to add the nudity just to keep you watching.

THE OUTSIDER!!!!

Gomorrah

It's like the Sopranos but darker

>calls Dexter bad
>proceeds to recommend rick and morty and curb your enthusiasm

I see you, faggot

Hello...mcfly...

Ohh...completely forgot Battlestar Galactica. Good show.

Strain was good.
Dexter and Breaking Bad? Fuck yeah, I've watched those for days
Parks and Rec if you like comedy
Flash was okay
House MD
Marco Polo (thought not accurate at all)
Britannia (again not accurate, but it's fiction who who gives a shit)
Black Mirror (didn't like some of the episodes though)
Band of Brothers miniseries

Television is mostly worthless. In general, you should avoid anything produced by Hollywood as it's guaranteed to be filled to the brim with left wing propaganda.

However, Breaking Bad is excellent. So is Better Call Saul but they didn't fuckin finish it.

This pretty much brings in on point, didn’t expect Cred Forums

Theres a new web series called "Blacked" you'd probably like.

I mean, you literally just recommended the normiest, cringiest show ever...how am I NOT supposed to "okay boomer" you?

For those out of the loop, the Sopranos sucks donkey balls. Remember that movie, Analyze That, the sequel to Analyze This with Billie Crystal and Robert DeNiro where the mobster is in therapy and crying the whole time? Yeah. Well imagine that but for many seasons and NOT played for laughs and you're about at what the Sopranos is. It horrible watching a grown ass man cry like a girl over nothing. It makes you actually feel sympathy for the mob getting depicted like that.

If you think the Sopranos is good, unironically kill yourself tonight. You have no future.

To add:
Travelers was pretty good (for sci-fi)
Umbrella Academy
Future Man (fucking as fuck)
I don't watch many shows, but I'll keep contributing if I can remember.

Ahh..you're one of those

Lemme guess..you also use the phrase, "I really liked 'fill in name of band' before they signed with a major label and sold out

You are aware you are not unique, right?

>I have little experience with tv shows outside of these two shows I've actually seen

Deadwood is pretty good.

You're not the brightest bulb in the Marquee, are you...

Person of Interest
Rain (the Danish show)
Funny story, when I first put on Rain I didn't know it was Danish, but I put it on just for some background sounds, and as an English speaker, you can oddly make out some words. Sounded like listening to someone while being drunk as fuck. Made me want to learn the language, so I started Danish on duolingo

Jericho was a decent post-nuclear, but the ending was fucking stupid and cliff-hangery
Mars is good, starts out kinda slow
Z Nation was surprising funny and didn't disappoint.

>ad hominem
Every time, lefties, every single time.

Hell on wheels

Their root language and old english root language are essentially the same. Our two languages are cousins who grew from a common ancestor. Of course they sound a little alike.

Watch the first 6 seasons of game of thrones, then stop and pretend it was never finished.
Then watch black mirror if you want a genuinely intelligent show, or rick and morty if you're a bit of a dummy but want to feel like you watched something smart.

The author's wife told him Arya can't die. So yes she has massive retard plot armor, ruining everything. When a main character that's an intelligent warrior can be offed randomly and a stupid kid is running around doing fuck knows what, it's shit

>And you just know that anything too popular is going to be annoying as hell
Yeah it can't be because of good writing.

Attached: 4CFBA7EC-3381-46AF-A41C-65D1F6B92790.jpg (220x275, 13K)

Dexter is shit and the other two are decent to okay

Ok here's something that's not an ad hominem.

I have more education than you
I make more money than you
My house is worth $1.5MM
I have more savings than you

And..just because I am a dick irl...I drive a Corvette.

Sleep well you trump supporting faggot! ;-)

>being a retarded faggot on Cred Forums
Everytime rando retard, every time

I just wished they weren't fucking lazy with her character. She could have had massive potential as an child assassin, but you don't survive being stabbed several times in the fucking stomach then swim to safety and then magically heal to 100% in just a few days.
And you don't train to become one in 2 years. which is apparently that timeline.

>Television is mostly worthless. >Hollywood
>TV
Imagine being so stupid you think tv shows are only made in Hollywood

Imagine being so stupid you don't know "hollywood" refers more to a design/economic philosophy within the trade than an actual location....

Yes it's shit. I will always enjoy the first half of the GoT series (except the 14 y.o. white girl running the Mongolians). Everything else gets dumber and dumber.
Like the foreign ball-less mercenaries hanging around Westerios (after all dying apparently) and telling the royal families what's going on instead of them hunted down and slaughtered as invaders.

I'm not imagining you're a fucking retard, I know you are

regardless Hollywood isn't the only "design" in media dumbass

>unsubstantiated claims in order to assert a mild form or financial superiority
Even if being rich somehow magically made you right (it doesn't), there is no way to verify either your claim of wealth nor your claim of my lack of wealth.

The Tick, the cartoon, not the pale imitation. classic riff on the superhero genre. free on youtube. have fun!

Mindhunter

You're still wrong. Do you understand shows are made across the world you hick burger?

>Britain
>India
>Japan
all Hollywood media because a trailer park american is too dense to think

Found the Trump supporter. How's having a small dick, MAGAfag?

I didn't know Hollywood was a subset of economics

>make fun of american hick
>"Oh you must be a burger"
You're fucking dense kiddo

Two retards, two different philosophies...both incredibly dumb

>GoT
Save yourself time, man...

The show goes nowhere because the books aren't finished.

Also recommend Billions

>breaking bad made by lsd crackhead
>"Better Call Saul" more mature

Who is this guy...

Succession is basically the better version of that show.

Breaking Bad, probably one of the best shows of the history of television. The movie is decent, not bad but enjoyable. BCS, the spinoff, isnt as good as BB but has a high quality

The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr.

If you have Netflix, Longmire is actually not too bad.

Yeah right, will check it out and hold you personally responsible. Cheers.

Boardwalk empire was pretty good

True Detective Season 1 was perhaps the best piece of television I've seen in the last two decades. Watch the first episode, you'll be hooked.

imgur.com/0mwHyZ3

how long did it take you to articulate that buddy

Silicon Valley. Great show with ridiculous but surprisingly realistic characters.
