THIS IS JUST A THEORY. This planet is used as a prison for extraterrestrials who fucked up and had their memories wiped. The entire earth is surrounded by some type of "force field" that will not let any soul escape it under any circumstances. The force field ensures that each time you die and get a new body, you don't remember shit. When sent here, their souls get biological bodies that live and die on repeat. Each time a new body. There are so many extraterrestrials sent here, that they could not create enough bodies for each one of them, so they created a biological reproduction system to eliminate that issue. There are apparently small holes that appear in the force field from time to time. That's where the reincarnation stories come from. A baby is born under the spot where the force field has a hole, therefore they remember their past life. The Hallucinogen Dimethyltryptamine (DMT) breaks through this force field somehow.
TLDR: We are on a body recycling farm with no escape in sight.
