Question for an older user.
How serious is lead poisoning? i was stupid about 6 month ago i was living at the old house and was opening my beers using the surface that had lead paint on it. some of that got into my beer i think. i didnt have any symptoms or so and i did open mb 6-7 bottles this way and there was pieces of that lead paint falling off, i dont know how much i consumed. Should i be worried? i just read how very toxic lead is

Probably won't notice a tiny amount one time. Living in a building with lead paint may have long term effects, may not, depends on how stable the surface of the paint is. Its more dangerous to kids because they're dumb enough to actually eat paint chips and lick walls. Also buy a bottle opener WTF.

Causes brain damage in children. You have to drink from lead cups most of your life or literally eat paint chips for it to have an effect. Don't worry, the lead isn't going to make you any more stupid at this point.

If you're worried about it make an appointment to get your lead levels checked. Phone a clinic or something IDK, get some info how to do it. I've got a friend who makes a lot of his money casting lead bullets and he gets his checked regularly. He's had to stay out of the shop for a few months at a time once in a while but thats really it. The effects are cumulative and lead stays in the body a long time, but lead will eventually leave the body. It does help that my friend works with fairly clean lead not lead salts which get absorbed and deposited in bad places in the body much faster. My buddy is also handling several tons of lead every year, and there are lead fumes from the melting.

Also OP, there likely is lead dust in the air from the wear on the paint, and that will have gotten into the carpet and carpet pad. If vacuuming, wear a mask, throw away the bag from the vacuum cleaner when you finish vacuuming, and then air the house out afterwards.

i think the amount was small thats why i wasnt worried at first but now after i read that even a small piece of paint is enough to get fucked i kinda freaked out

Fumes are internal absorption and should be a better vector than paint chips, at least in his stated quantity.

nothing to worry about.
it is really bad if you are eating the shit in gram quantities, or if you are a young child living around it and peeling it and eating it while your brain grows towards its final form.
you should worry more about the beer... especially if it wasn't Corona Especial, the beer of the timez.
