Do you tip? How much usually? Do you think it's a good thing?

Do you tip? How much usually? Do you think it's a good thing?

Me:
>yes
>I always round up. For example if it's $13.50, I give $15
>No I hate it but society kinda forces it on me

I tip 20%, maybe 18 if they’re outright lazy but it’s mainly because I’m in the business too. If server goes out of their way in any fashion (slide me a free side, get me extra of some free shit that normally isn’t free) I usually do more up to 25% at the most. Plus you feel alpha as fuck when you tip high, especially with bitch ass low tipping friends

I always tip, because I'm not a cheap piece of shit. I know all the arguments you incels like to use, don't care about you little mommas boys. I stop at a diner with my kid, it's usually a $20 bill for some eggs and bacon stuff, I leave $5. Take the kids for pizza and a beer, they share some fries, it's $40. I leave $10. Dinner might come to $80 in a semi-decent place, I give $100 in the folder. So, I'm pretty consistent around 20-25%.

Don't tip, it's a fucking scam. People should work for an actual steady wage.

You choose to go there, nigger. You're the scam. Maybe get a job where five bucks doesn't make you cry. Eat some nigger chow from the 7-11 like doritos and a slim jim if you can't be a big boy at the place you like. Economically speaking, if you can't afford the tip, you really can't afford the meal. So get some McD's or buy a pound of hamburger and make some Hamburger Helper, and find yourself a real job where you make actual money, not just an uneducated no-skills retard-piling-boxes-on-a-skid job.

>supporting a broken system that forces the customers to cover the costs the employer saves for himself

And you are actually proud of it? Lol.

Where I feel it is socially appropriate, yes. People are extra competitive toward well-paying jobs - in essence, they've paid it forward by working and training and trying to become particularly qualified at that job, all before their interview, largely because they expect performance-based tips. You would have to be an asocial lunatic not to think it's okay to give someone the money they are working for you for just because it is only implied and not explicit. It would be more explicit if your parents had raised you right and explained this to you.

You'd pay $50 plus tax for pizza, a beer and fries? It doesn't even cost that much in Australia and we pay actual wages around $20/hr to staff. Sounds like a scam

An important point here, as I sage again, is that this isn't about your relationship with anyone othee than the person who has humbled themselves enough to serve you. If you are not grateful enough to them for their work to pay them what is standard, you underappreciate that human being, and likewise all of them.

You have to be the dumbest fuck out there .....

Your point would be good but there is one flaw.

You say they humbled enough to serve me... but it's kinda... their job, you know?

It's the same as if I would say: 'your taxi driver humbled enough to actualyl drive you.' Or 'your doctor humbled enough to treat you'

They didn't humble down for shit. It's literally called a job and doing your job!

>Maybe get a job where five bucks doesn't make you cry
This is great advice for entitled servants
Earn your money, don't beg for it

If it wasn't for the owner, there would be no restaurant. I tip people all the time. Lawn guy, the guy who just delivered new furniture to my house. Valet parking attendant. Go cry in your trailer.

Pizza, 16, drinks, 2.25x2, fries, 4.75, two beers, $3.75 each, a beer for the wife, $3.75. Thats like 36 bucks. maybe someone wants a salad. theres another $5. You're a broke-ass nigger faggot who never paid a bill in his life. Your daddy carries the wallet and you walk out with a balloon tied to your wrist, you no-class beta queef pre-teen window-licking cunt.

yes
I give whole bills instead percentage, folks do percentage
nope it's bad and lots of people are expecting it.

delivering a fridge upstairs you get a tip dropping off a pallet of insulation no tip deliver a pizza shouldn't be tipped, but i do. install something in my house tip if i watch no tip if i sit on my ass while you do it

LOL only poor people or lower middle class people tip, they have the guilt in them to tip which is why they'll never get ahead in life.
I never fucking tip, I don't tip my maids who clean my toilets so why should I tip a fucking food server?

Yeah, I'm a dumb-ass middle-aged guy with a half-mil in the bank, who drops a little five dollar bill on the table and doesn't cry about it, you wage slave cheap-ass nigger. It is literally .0001% of what I earn in an average month.

You really don't get it, do you? It's not about being 'a broke ass nigga'. It's about the owners who are too greedy to pay actual wages to their employees and try to put those costs on the customers.

But not the costs for the restautant or the food, this is already calculated into the prices of the food you fucking idiot!

I am talking about the costs for actually decent wages that he would have to pay, but doesn't because he expects his customers to do it for him.

I avoid restaurants with servers because making customers make up for wages is bullshit but when I get my hair cut they ask for a tip amount when I pay by debit. I always get a buzzcut which is the easiest shit, never takes over 5 mins. It's like 18 after taxes. so I round it up to an even 20 bucks

Its great advice for everyone. Don't go to disneyland if you can't get a fucking slurpee. If going to a restaurant is a financial strain, eat at home. If you can't afford gas, don't buy a car. Only an idiot goes places he can't afford.

I don't get why this is being spammed as a topic lately.

Who benefits from this argument being had?

I live in the UK and tip a flat £3 for good service, shit service and you get nothing. Waiting staff get decent pay over here. I don't know why I tip at all, to be honest, as they probably get paid more than I do (minimum wage fag).

It is about being a broke-ass nigger. Don't do things you can't afford to do. I know what to expect going in. I'm not gonna sweat a few extra bucks. I don't seethe and rage about the philosophical injustice of how a guy runs his fucking pizza joint, I want the fucking pizza and that what it costs to go sit in there and spend an hour with my family. Who the fuck goes to the movies if they can't afford the fucking popcorn? Faggots, thats who. Broke ass, worthless faggots. "Daddy, popcorn!", sorry Johnny, we're pieces of shit. "BUt Timmys mom took a bunch of us, and we all got popcorn", yeah, Johnny, thats because they're not broke-ass retards. They can afford to do nice shit.

One thing I don't understand is why you guys tip a percentage based on the cost of the food? It takes the same amount of effort to bring you lobster with caviar and champagne as it would to bring you a cheese sandwich and a coke.

Its how incels rage about being broke-ass cunts when they pretend to be ballers on Insta.

i tip, and decently too, cause i've been in their shoes and know what its like.

Because thats how it's done. But not everyone does it. Some people drop heat on a cheap table. People with real money do it all the time. But if you don't want to do all sorts of ultra charity every time you go anywhere, you just calculate 3x the tax and have a nice day.

Why not just give them $5 as a tip every time? That seems reasonable for taking an order and bringing food out. It seems like a really complex system.

I'm English, so I don't really understand the whole tipping culture.

Found the cucks

I do the same, except cash. Mine is sixteen, I think. They do that on purpose so the girl can hand you back 4 ones. I let them keep it, because I'm not gonna take $4 out of some nice girls hand who just had her tits pressed against the side of my face and made polite conversation.

Because sometimes $5 is way too low. You do 3x the tax here in the states, to keep it simple.

Only tip my drivers, servers are worthless cunts that dont deserve tips more than $2

it used to be about compensating someone for their service to u and it was done out of kindness, now people in the service industry are often underpaid because tipping is expected and immigrant shop owners are the cheapest human beings to ever exist. so like most things tipping had a meaning, now it means “my boss doesn’t pay me enough so u need to give me extra money.”

A cuck is someone who cries poverty when they're enjoying first-world luxury. There are plenty of alternatives for low-wage scum who can't afford to tip. Keep your ugly kids and fat-assed trailer bitch out of my fucking establishments. I'm trying to have a nice time while your scummy ass is leaving gum under tables. Places are overcrowded. Stay home.

This kindness you speak of is more like white-peoples charity. They're just being nice saying keep the change, and shit like that. But when you would walk into some joint like Don Draper and pay with a wad of cash that would take them a month to accumulate, you give someone a buck or two, or say keep it. Yes, now it's different, but the economics are kinda the same. Except broke-ass motherfuckers who can't afford to eat out are eating out. And they shouldn't, because it's a financial strain for them. Obviously.

The way I normally tip in Scotland (from England but living in Scotland rn) is normally just 10% if the service was especially good, or just rounding it up to the nearest five if it's over a tenner

He's American, their pizzas start at 25 inches for a small

I tip drivers, too. But usually not as much, because their pay structure is different. Most of what you pay a driver goes to the driver. Uber only makes a few percent off a fare, the driver keeps most of it. Same with city cabs. They rent the car for maybe a hundred bucks (maybe 200), and everything over that, they keep. If you let a taxi meter click all day, the fare would be about a thousand dollars. That means, the driver is getting about $700 a shift.

I don't understand, last time I had to visit a doctor in us at the end of the appointment I took 20 bucks and pushed it in the pocket of his doctors coat as a tip and he got annoyed. Your tipping culture is very odd.

He didn't want money from your gonorrhea-smeared fingers.

In my country we only tip police officers

I don't tip
I don't live in a third world country where people with a job have to beg for few extra coins
