elitist complaining when he can't fix the problems before him, blame others

Cred Forumsro. It is often the case that in a democracy problems are unable to be fixed if the majority votes to ignore the problem entirely.

fail to educate, fail to instill morality and a cohesive sense of community, blame failures on everyone else

you collectivists can never be happy because your goal is unattainable because your foundation of beliefs is flawed due to adherence to an ideology

the failures of your ideologies are a direct result of it's policies, an impossible quagmire that results when the so called intellectual class refuses to question their own self prescribed dogmas

tldr: isaac asimov is the very person he laments in that quote

Ever notice in academia it's almost a point of pride to be completely computer illiterate?

To be fair, the majority votes didn't win the election 4 years ago. We live in a 'representative' democracy with minority rule.

You're a shit writer

There are not many things in this world that are more pathetic than somebody who talks big with no intellectual substance.

No...

have you even read a single one of his books? he has reached more people with is message of anti elite humanism than a regular jackoff like you. what more do you want from an author? yall retards complain about inserting politics into media and then complain when a guy in the media isnt doing enough to fix things.

really tho m8, give the foundation series a try, its a classic.

It's kinda true. But at some point we need the idiots to show us where not to go. Obviously we don't /think/ we need them because we exist within the system but without it results would get adjusted accordingly and would end up the same way (splitting up the intellectuals and making a new sub intellectual class). Ultimately defeating the population I suppose.

like passive aggressiveness?

... he wrote most of his books in the 50s and 60s dude. typewriters weren't always for ironic hipsters.

What the fuck was passive about that?

Do they even make them anymore? You would think because of all the security stuff or schitzos the typewriter business would be booming.

>you collectivists

No one even mentioned that topic, yet somehow you had to bring that in. Ok...

That's not true at all.

>there is a cult of ignorance in the united states
>there is a cabal of bankers and media companies in the world

isn't demonizing and dehumanizing people fun? it makes it so much easier to hate each other when we refuse to see the other person as a human

if we could just find a perfect way to dehumanize the collectivists then perhaps we could finally be rid of the self destructive component of humanity

it's pretty easy to tell when someone is blubbering on about how flawed democracy is

Ever go to college? It's the older professors, every fucking time a student becomes the 'tech wizard' for the semester.

>there is a cult of ignorance in the united states

but there is

Do the old professors make up the majority of faculty?

If it's only a minority who is computer illiterate then they do not really represent "academia". Furthermore, of that minority of are computer illiterate, how many make that a "point of pride"?

there are people in world who have a lower intelligence, there is no cult of ignorance

there is a cult of superiority however who ironically blame all their problems on people of lower intelligence, these types of people have controlled government and all the institutions forever yet somehow can't seem to reach that utopia that they so meticulously have mapped out, must be that cult of ignorance holding us back - or maybe your ideology has become dogma and you've lost objectivity

and then there's people who take clips of comedians for use as reference material

Cringe tbh

Wow, so deep. As if ignorant morons were not everywhere. As if these people usually are not full of themselves. To all times.

do you even live in the USA? Are you blind to the problem of anti-intellectualism that's been rotting the US society for decades on end?

bandwagon fallacy

Aren't you missing the point? Wouldn't he appear to lament people who are not pursuing knowledge and think of themselves as better than the elites which wouldn't be as grounded and in touch with reality as them? A lot of people are anti-intellectual. People will always be inclined to glorify what they do, even if it is having an opinion on a complicated subject without having done research on it.
For me this thread raises a very good question. I am anti-intellectual. What am I going to do? Spend a decade on education just so that I can talk?

Out of curiosity, what college did you attend, user?

Where is the any key?

This kind of illustrates op's point. You made a statement that no one agrees with, no one supports, and you yourself can't support, yet you insist it's true

This guy knows what's best in life

To each there own tho man

Survival of the human species depends more on cooperation than it does any strain of intellectualism. Much as being educated is a good thing and one should strive towards it, fact is that it's completely superfluous to the survival of any given community. It'll help make them resource rich, but it doesn't matter how resource rich you are if the plebs in your community hate your guts enough to fucking murder you. You gotta get along to get along. Asimov has a point to be sure but let's not forget that educated people bear some social responsibility as well. I.e. it doesn't matter how educated you are, if you can't convince a layman to listen and trust in your expertise then your education was fucking useless.

just don't let the snobs turn cooperation into coercion
