People want them now because they represent creativity even in a massive corporate space.
The Aztek exists because GM basically told their Pontiac marketing and engineering teams to make whatever the fuck they wanted. Whatever it was, it would be approved. With the general idea down from someone higher up, the engineers put every single feature they could think of inside it.
Marketing was given a sum somewhere in the high 8 digit range to get people to buy it, had it hyped as the greatest vehicle of all time and basically jerked it off through the Daytona 500.
But it’s ugly and it was expensive and nobody really knew who or what it was even for.
But as mentioned, today people want them because they are a product of that time when GM didn’t give a shit, a very unique and individual car for someone who doesn’t know what the words practicality, functionality or purpose even mean.
The center console was a cooler. This was stock, not even an option, stock.
