So these aren’t bad specs, but I hope you didn’t way overpay for this.
Haswell is 6 years old now 4c/8t is completely dead and DDR3 has gone the way of the dodo.
Not a bad performer and if it’s got a decent psu/cpu cooler on top of those specs then it’s an overall good system, but it’s like buying a really cheap used car, when it dies it dies, there ain’t gonna be any fixing it because it just won’t be worth it.

I don't plan on using it for anything super intensive, mostly image manipulation, a little video editing / animation and 3d modelling.

MPC-HC video/audio player. user already mentioned this but this is seriously so good compared to the windows default video player.
7zip, macrium reflect free, everest engineer edition, rocket dock with square glass icons. Link all your documents photos etc with rocket dock to seperate hard drive/partition and you can also backup the setup once its in place using the themesaver program. Both of these programs will have a couple flaws. youll need to correct the link for x86 vs x64 items and manually copy over the rocket dock theme files. (There is info in the txt for gow the theme saver files are created)
