It's a manga that's been running for 20+ years now, and it's pretty incredible. One of the things that's most interesting about it, is that the author has basically reinvented himself in his style several times throughout the series, while still keeping it true to its roots. During the first 10 volumes (referred to collectively as the "Golden Age" arc), it's basically gritty 80s style manga of purely dark medieval warfare, becoming borderlined historical fiction. but in volumes 11-12+ literally hell opens up and pours itself onto earth evil dead style but in a completely serious manner. Over the next ~5 volumes you have every bit of bad in his world corrupted and risen to full blown demonic rape-fests; corrupt priests burning everyone at the stake, packs of roving goblins kidnapping women, raping and impregnating them to make more monsters, an evil god-emporer who tries to take over the world etc. It then turns into a traditional swords/sorcery fantasy where Guts assembles a team of rag-tag heroes to destroy the five God Hands of hell, one of whom was his best friend and rival during the Golden Age.

This comic needs more Griffith.

Attached: Berserk_v29_p094.jpg (3000x4284, 1.56M)

Why is that?

Griffith is love; Griffith is life.
Why wouldn't you want more Griffith?

I've missed you old friend

Hello again, Berserk bro.

Attached: Pippin_Manga.jpg (340x501, 58K)

Slow down, cowboy, I never said I didn't want more of the Birdman.
I just wanted your take first.
Can you expain in further detail what you mean by Griffith being "love" and "life"?

Attached: Berserk_v29_p099.jpg (3000x4284, 1.46M)

I missed you too, user, I'm glad to see you again.
It makes my day better. How have you been?
Heya, what's new?

Still packing my man. Was supposed to have someone help move my couch over to the new place today but I still had most of my shit unpacked and in the way.

Everyone loves Griffith! Gives people hope! A reason to live! purpose for their lives and all that.

And frankly, Griffith is awesome. So this comic should focus on him first and foremost. Instead of that brutish murderer known as Gutsu.

Griffith is poison to everyone around him. He'd throw absolutely anyone away to further his own goals. Even Princess Charlotte, if it would further his purposes.

Isn't that Guts though? He used to greet people with "Don't come near me, all those who are close to me die".
Pretty sure you're thinking of the madman Guts.

Oh, so the new place isn't too far away.
When do you think the move will be complete?
I bet Granny can't wait
.That certainly sounds admirable, but I heard some rumors that Griffith had a bit of a shady past.
What's up with that?

CHARLOTTE WILL USE THE BEHELIT GUTS IS CARRYING TO SACRIFICE THE PEOPLE OF MIDLAND SO SHE CAN BECOME FEMTO'S DEMON QUEEN!

I want to see Charlotte thrown down with Slan.

Attached: Berserk_v29_p106.jpg (3000x4284, 1.39M)

We all make mistakes in our youth. Griffith has matured considerably and is quite the hero these days!
Truly a remarkable human being.

Attached: Berserk_v29_p107.jpg (3000x4284, 1.92M)

That's a caring moment with Guts. Sort of. While he believes those who can't defend themselves aren't worth defending, he also doesn't want to drag innocents into his struggles. Griffith has no such empathy.

End of Chapter 251

But wasn't he an adult by that point?

Attached: Berserk_v29_p108.jpg (3000x4284, 1.64M)

Onto Chapter 252

Attached: Berserk_v29_p109.jpg (3000x4284, 1.69M)

Attached: Berserk_v29_p110.jpg (3000x4284, 1.93M)

Both metaphorI cally and physically I'm not far away from the new house. I live in the same town and am just going a few streets away. Grandma is moving across the state line to be closer to family. And yeah, while I've been on the fence about moving, she's been at a baseline super happy about moving in together.

Some people take longer to mature than others.

Consider the following: The whole western prison system is based around redemption. Griffith did his time (literally too!) for his crimes.
By the law, he's forgiven. Why can't you do the same for him?

I can relate, my last move was 1 street over (had to find a new apartment after the landlord took my kitchen away).
Similarly, my grandfather recently moved back to the east coast from the west to be closer to family. I think it's a nice thing.
I hope your Grandma's the type that likes to bake cookies when she's happy in those situations.

Attached: Berserk_v29_p111.jpg (3000x4284, 1.58M)

Come now, you know the king never meant for Griffith to leave confinment. It wasn't about redemption for crimes, it was punishment for taking what the king desired.

Actually, I'm an avid baker when I have the funds for it.

Well, sure he did his time for the crime he commited, but didn't he commit another crime right after getting out? An even worse one, at that.

Attached: Berserk_v29_p112.jpg (3000x4284, 1.59M)

Attached: Berserk_v29_p113.jpg (3000x4284, 1.65M)

Well... yeah. I'm stretching it a bit. But the concept is still there.

>what the king desired
Misread that as
>what the king deserved
and instinctually agreed.

Attached: Berserk_v29_p114.jpg (3000x4284, 1.82M)

Pretty sure I already explained about mercenaries and the contract of laying down their lives for their leader. And how many times they've all claimed they were willing to do it too.
Can't blame him for thinking it was okay to sacrifice the lot of them when the opportunity for his ultimate dream (having wings) was at hand.

Really the reason that when/if Berserk is finished, I'm buying the whateveverthefuck collection, no matter how expensive and how in debt I am.

Berserk has followed me from middle school to high school to college to PhD life to afterwards. No other staying force has been around as long

Impressive, what do you like to make?
I make some Valentine's day cookies for the wife the other week. Her birthday's coming up, so I'm trying out a cake. I'm still learning, but I can bake an okay loaf of bread now. Good enough to eat with soup, but it's too weak to use for sandwich bread.
Made soda bread once and that came out pretty good, I quite like soda bread.

>He was only alive for the release of three issues.
Imagine those that were there from the start!

Dat Schierke ass
Correct me if I'm mistaken, but wasn't Casca the de facto leader at that point?

Attached: Berserk_v29_p116.jpg (3000x4284, 1.42M)

Berserk sucks and so does you and your family

Not the dude you replied to.... but I made some sweet bread by hand for the first time last week.
Not my first time with a yeast dough mind you. But still. Came out awesome! Even though we misjudged the size of our heads and ended up having things twice as large as was supposed to. (four head recepie... two loaves.... woops.)

I really enjoy brownies and cookies.

It's wonderful and strange how something can find itself into your life and become such a part of it.
I think we're lucky that it's Berserk, in our cases.
It's going to be such a glorious feeling when/if it's over.
Can't say I've been with it quite as long, just through highschool, uni, and a master's degree. I can't imagine life without Berserk/Berserk threads. It just doesn't seem right.

Not really. She was always considered the temp until they saved Griff. They were debating one way or the other before Griff went on his wild ride and eclipsed them (in awesomeness!) and let the demons have their fun.

>started: 1989
>I was born 1990

Certainly I didn't start reading till later, but.

I refuse to believe those men wold have continured to follow Griffith if there had been a clause int their contract mentioning devouring by demons.

Only one of those is an accurate statement, you FOOL!
Glad to hear it, user! Fresh bread from the oven can't be beat.
>ended up having things twice as large as was supposed to
But, hey, twice the bread. Was it supposed to be denser?

Attached: Berserk_v29_p118.jpg (3000x4284, 1.93M)

Was mostly a joke about Miura's release schedule too.

Because you know... he only releases an issue once every time a man lands on the moon.

>fuck

I want elon musk to suck my dick, but if it ends up with an accelerated release schedule, I'd want musk to suck my dick

I dunno, as said, Casca was having a meeting with the Band of the Falcon, talking about what they were gonna do next since Griffith is an invalid and can't do anything anymore. I think it's fair to say that Casca was the leader, and not Griffith.

Attached: Berserk_v29_p119.jpg (3000x4284, 1.85M)

>he only releases an issue once every time a man lands on the moon.
This doesn't make any sense because we have more than 0 issues of Berserk.

Attached: Berserk_v29_p120.jpg (3000x4284, 1.7M)

Attached: Berserk_v29_p121.jpg (3000x4284, 1.62M)

It came out pretty damn perfect even though there were many hiccups in the creation process.
The only issue in the end was the end product being huge; and me having to eat that much more so it don't go bad.

And for the record, sweet bread is a denser bread. Great for dinner rolls, and other things you may want a sweet bread dough as their base. Like an apple cinnimin thing.

As someone who has other financial responsibilities at the moment and is dismayed at how all his in progress comics are flying forward without him, I'm glad berserk at least has so slow an update schedule.

Ah, okay, so like dinner rolls. I love that kind of bread, then.
>having to eat that much more so it don't go bad
I always make 2 weeks worth of bread and freeze the 2nd week's. So far no problems.
I was keeping it in the fridge, and it lasted a week fine, but then I have to heat it up to eat it, and it dries out the bread if I don't eat it fast enough.
I tried keeping it outside the fridge, but it got moldy right before a week was up, so I gotta think of a solution.

quality thread OP. not even being whatever, like this is the type of shit that's keeps the nearly flatlined heart of Cred Forums still alive

Cred Forums went from an edgy high school pothead to a completely burnt out opioid addicted schizo in his late 30's stealing from his family with no job, and threads like these are the girlfriend that sticks by him and doesnt enable him but tries to help get his shit back on track

basically what i'm saying is this thread is too good for Cred Forums

Not OP. But I like your description. Seems accurate.

>Get help Cred Forums

I appreciate your kind words, user. It fills me with determination.
>basically what i'm saying is this thread is too good for Cred Forums
No, it's these anons here that are too good for me. Couldn't do it without them, because I do it for them.

End of Chapter 252 and end of dump for tonight

Attached: Berserk_v29_p128.jpg (3000x4284, 1.24M)

Good thread as always, Berserk bro. Goodnight.

Attached: G_051.jpg (360x450, 34K)

OP out for the night. I was having a bit of a rough day, I'm really glad you all were able to pull me out of it. It's always the most enjoyable part of my day to come here and spend the end of the night with everyone.
Love you all, goodnight and never stop struggling

I feel you, user.
Even only having seen the 98 anime, a Berserk fan's a Berserk fan, we all struggle together.
Thanks for the bump, and I hope your coding grind goes well. Don't forget the ;'s and closing out loop statements or something. I only did a bit of C++ for a course, but it was cool, I quite enjoyed it.

Thanks user, have a g'night!
