If you get one with the removable vag it's pretty easy to clean. You don't have to powder that often.

OP, I kind of regret spending the $1300 on mine, its pretty heavy and its hard to store.

Does any powder works fot the cleaning? Or you gotta buy a specific brand?

cornstarch is generally the go-to for most owners, but a few crazies like talcum powder
potato starch can supposedly work as well.
babypowder is basically just fine cornstarch with scent nowadays, but it used to be cut with a small amount of talc.

biggest differences between cornstarch and talcum is the particle sizes. talc will feel slightly smoother, but cornstarch is body safe which means you can lick wherever without worry.

dont know that its airbrushing so much as having pro photographers take the pics in a lot of cases.

there are a number of sites that steal pics and sell inferior quality knockoffs though, which is where i think a lot of the photoshop and airbrushing stuff ended up coming from.

In general i would check the original mfg site and compare prices to start for determining how legit a site might be. anything more than 20% under the mfg price and i start getting very suspicious. comparing to other 3rd parties is also a good way of telling how much of a markup or discount a brand might typically have. some of the brand websites also have lists of "official" distributors.

heat and technically cold if it gets extreme enough, but otherwise yeah nothing really fucks with them environmental wise.
definitely have some sort of critter guard though, dont want anything chewing on the starch.

Silicone is good temp wise in any practical environment.
TPE can have some deformation issues above 100 and can have some cracking issues below freezing so(though i dont know exactly how low it needs to go to damage) so keep that in mind.

ones that are small enough can potentially be stored in an ottoman or chest like thing, but for laying down storage you generally want a small memory foam layer just to help prevent any deformation. Its not generally permanent deform, but its annoying to deal with.

If you can, then hanging the doll in a neutral position is best. Or standing up and supported. Laying flat is also possible if you use some decent padding, like thick memory foam, so you don't get flat spots etc. Powdering is only needed every now and again, or if you will be storing for a long time. You don't want to powder too much. Assuming TPE.

Yup, this. A decent DSLR with lenses that cost more than the doll and pro lighting makes a big difference. Plus I'm sure they do some pro makeup before the shoot, rather than the basic job they do in the factory.

I have taken hundreds of pics of my doll and only a few are anywhere near decent. It's amazing how different the doll can look in one picture compared to another with different lighting.

It comes in a plain card box, with lots of padding inside. The doll is usually wrapped in a blankie as well.

You can also order a flight case, which can double as a place to store it. Just be aware that it'll be heavy as fuck.

for hanging i found that having them in something is actually hugely beneficial(mostly for the critter issue). these are cloth sleeping bag inserts that were like 5-10 each and offer full dust and environment deflection.
