Will second Einhander. The learning curve in the game is insane, but the payoff is definitely worth the practice

it could have been good. it was almost good. it just lacked polish, and the top down parts were kinda doofy and tedious.

I found both of those to be easier than Einhander. I loved the challenge and replay value of Einhander.

Man, how are you still on there? Kind of have some respect for you to stick it out though. I played since 2006, took a break for a while during Cataclysm. Came back for the end of that and all of Pandaria. Took a break during WoD for sure. Played Legion heavily and then BFA just killed it for me. I think I'm actually done now for once in my life.

WOW is garbage. You don't even get to control your attacks, it's just DPS, you stand there and wait while "your character attacks". shit fucking sucks. Game is for autists.

I'll take the bait. What made it amazing for me was the community. I raided and did pvp for years, and both had their fun moments. DPS can be highly competitive and that was fun, but I enjoyed healing most. There was just something about 25 people having to work flawlessly together to get some of the hardest bosses down. Hard to describe those moments when you did, especially if it was realm first or the last achievement for a rare mount that the rest of the server barely had.

cant say that these are 100% the best games i've ever played but what comes in my mind when i think about it.

I'm in my thirties and have owned to many consoles and computers to narrow things down. I'll pick a few though:

The original Army Men & Army Men II on PC (RIP 3DO). One of my first online multiplayer experiences along with the original Alien vs Predator FPS (which was fucking terrifying and fun for the time).

StarCraft+BW. The first multiplayer game I enjoyed with friends I made in high school. We had clones across the computer labs and I don't think any of us ever ate lunch.

Phantasy Star Online for Dreamcast (Quake 3 Arena a close second). Another RIP to Sega consoles for being too ahead of their time. Fuckin console had a keyboard, mouse, web browser, ran Windows CE (which led to Homebrew, but also piracy). I used to use Netzero and other free dialup ISPs to get online with mine.

CS1.6 & Source. Discovering surf maps probably led to a good fraction of my left going missing to gaming.

Christ, what's number 5? Pokemon Red/Blue? SMB? DKC? Street Fighter, Fatal Fury, Tekken, Mortal Kombat, Bloody Roar? GTA London (now that'd be a prime choice), GTA3?

I think I'll go Diablo 2 LoD for friends close and those made afar. We all wandered across other games, played some WoW or HL mods, whatever new FPS was out. But we all always came back to D2, at least until we didn't...

This brings back some good memories. Now I feel like trying to install. But that leads to the question of patches, favorite mods, etc.

I learned to love the latest as they came but I was bent out of shape for a while when 1.10 intro'd synergies. It completely nerfed my firewall sorc. The rust storm rendered my Fastsassin moot too. That was one of my favorites. Inventory full of 5% run/walk and trap charms. When the bugged zons came into duel games with their bugged out, gemmed out windforces and valors I could outrun guided arrows with her and trapkill them. Used to get a lot of laughs just from running small circles around them with a trail of arrows in tow.

I reinstalled a couple years ago but all my friends hadn't logged in for ages. Might try again in another year if ActiBlizz doesn't axe bnet classic by then.
