I say that because in a lot of scenes, I think they only did one or two takes and the actors come off one-dimensional. I liked the early stuff a lot, but was always aware I was watching a movie. Hateful, Hollywood, and Basterds were all much better acted and filmed. Jackson was in four, I think, and a good actor throughout all those years, but in Pulp and Jackie was probably not as good as he could've been with more takes. One of my favorite characters in his early stuff was the bail bond guy Max Cherry in Jackie Brown. He seemed like a real person. Not everyone came off like that.

LOL< no. Alcohol is legal, and if made illegal, would be harder for many people to get. I know in your imaginary scenario, everyone could get that alcohol in a sketchy alley from a criminal, but thats false. Many people would not know anybody. Same goes for drugs. There are lots of people forced to be straight, if you don't believe it, just read the front page and about every ten minutes some kid is asking about a random pill they found, or huffing keyboard cleaner. Pharma companies should be making things you can't abuse. Those drugs create a lot of addicts. If people get on junk, thats a completely different problem. I personally think instead of making long-term lock-up laws, people should be busted and do quick two years sentences if they're caught with hard drugs. You get that a few times, you'll either smarten up or get longer and longer sentences. Eventually people get to be 30-40 and don't want to risk it again. Its not worth it.

The trouble with rating movies is it all depends on where the viewer is coming from. Films not only tell a story, they mix visuals with sounds and the impact can depend on where the viewer is coming from. For example, the mix of music and visuals in 2001 is, for me, superb and many raise the hairs on the back of my neck - for example the spacecraft synchronising and docking with the rotating space station to the sounds of "The Blue Danube" - brilliant. Or the opening of "Once upon a Time in the West", where Leone builds the tension with the gunslingers waiting for the train: the drops of water falling on the hat; the squeaking water pump; the little side scene with Jack Elam and the fly...brilliant. But some people see all this as just a waste of time before the gunfight.
tl;dr: some people only watch for the story, other watch for the whole experience.

Its takes place in the near future and Robin Wryt places herself and her decision to sell her likeness to be scanned and used forever.
It also just from style to style, even animated at times, as she goes through her career or something.
Now that i think about it, its kind of like the anime movie Millennium Actress a little.
This was also before CGI dead actors was a thing, so it was a lil ahead of its time.

all that shit already exists and alcohol is the worst offender of all. You prohibitionists also ignore the fact that if dope were legal, there would be no reason to dump needles anywhere, drive high, or fund criminal enterprises with hundreds of billions of dollars every year. Taxing the revenue, putting dope in stores and IDing people, spending the taxes on education and prevention/recovery, would have a net positive effect, plus addicts could live a normal life and function. Regulated potency also puts a stop to accidental ODs and "driving high" isn't really a thing for addicts, it doesn't impair driving like alcohol does. I'm an addict and I drive better high than sick. never had an accident.
