Well, I guess you have to reply the shapes and patterns until they become more and more solid and consistent inside your head. At least that's what my process was / is like, it's not that easy to draw from zero, man.

Cartoonish eyes are good but there is something about when the eyes are flat on top but round on the bottom that I find unsettling.
Maybe narrow and or shrink them and flatten the bottoms and it might look a bit more natural.
I don't really know what I'm talking about though.

Maybe you mean something like pic related. Yeah I think I get it, not too geometric, more than just flat lines and curve lines but a more well-defined shape.
