Someone sent me a meme of Earth chan and I remembered that I had some saved and then I spent a few hours scrolling through pictures of her, spent a few days in online chats trying to find a way to vent this notion, and then I realized I was obsessed and turned to /waifu/ for help.
Out of all the other places that I consulted with this, only here people didn't immediately assume I was mocking them.
After more than a year of calming down from the trauma of posting in a waifu thread unironically and fighting with myself on and off about whether or not this is even real, I guess I really have fallen in love with someone that isn't a human person.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick & Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick's existential catchphrase "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon's genius wit unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools.. how I pity them.

i'll tell you, i'm not really a fan of cereal, but i do like them bran flakes. i'm a simple guy, now. i don't like those fancy colors, or special fruits, or them weight-loss miracle whathaveyous. now, i follow a relatively soft diet on prepackaged foods, and i often prefer to eat high carbohydrate foods with a 100cal/30g ratio (although this usually is passed by 10-50 calories higher). now, bran flakes are good because they achieve that range. they're not loaded with trash, they's just got wheat or whatever they heck they're made of, and some almond milk to top it off. now, i really like almond milk. it is my preferred milk substitute, and the only milk i drink at home. now, these flakes are good because they're not too sweet. they've got flavor and texture, and that's all i want. for sweetness, i give them milk, and they get in a good spot and i just really enjoy that. i also put them with yogurt, which makes a nice contrast, and the bran flakes give almost a sour and crunchy pair to the yogurt. it's a great way to get my protein.

Actually, at least as far as I've been educated on this, the reason the moon is going home, where its people need it, is because of the increased torgue, which it is stealing from the Earth through dragging around its mass.
The peripheral distance between Moon and Earth is decreasing in some or the other weird mathematical relation to the drag forces that Moon applies unto Earth's mass, which means that the farther away the Moon gets, the weaker the gravitational pull on Earth's mass gets, the lesser the velocity away from Earth gets.
The point of flight itself is, as far as I remember, where the calculation respects the direct gravitational force of the two points of mass. You're gonna need to break orbit to farm any extra velocity from the sheer lack of gravitational pull.
If you entertain orbit of one object around another, you'll see the distance between the two objects periodically rattle through a set range of values. You're not gonna get any additional, lasting distance bonus between the two simply because there's points where their gravitational pulls are less than on other points.
Which means the average perpendicular velocity is zero. If you pretend like Moon runs perfect circles around Earth, the actual perpendicular velocity is the same as the average perpendicular velocity of orbit, plus the torgue bonus that distances Moon from Earth.

Velocity is a speed and single direction. In orbit, you have parallel to gravity, and perpendicular.
If you throw a baseball on the moon it will go forward at whatever speed you throw it, but also down at moon gravity. The forward direction won't slow because of gravity though.
It will move in a straight line at whatever speed it was going before.

The direction never changed. It was moving simultaneously forward and downward separately. You just removed the downward. the average changed, but the forward didn't.
