Italy is a relatively young country (it was unified only near the end of the 19th century), so there are a lot of differences between regions. The way of thinking is also radically different. I find it hard to believe that people think northern Italy is a med country

We are less numerically, but the North produces also most of the GDP of the country. We had a referendum last year where it became clear that the majority of the population wants autonomy. We are changing government in the next few weeks; the next PM will have to face and solve this problem, or we may soon approach a breaking point

But, if the central government uses too much tax on poor regions,
people in areas that pay much tax can't benefit from tax,
their labor willingness will decline and dissatisfaction will accumulate.

Therefore, the central government needs to control redistribution of wealth well.

(For people to concentrate in more urban areas)

In such areas, tax is high, and public service is low.

The question was, who will be the leading power. Austria or Prussia.
