She doesn't hate Kree anywhere near Skrulls, I mean she was attracted to Mar-Vell and she has formed friendships and alliance with other Kree, she patterned her Captain Marvel outfit and Alpha Flight on Kree uniforms fer chrissake.

Also Carol can work with Kree and be friendly towards them, you can even see her shaking hands with Ronan in the background in an issue of Hickman's Infinity event and both of them used to hate each other's guts.

Skrulls are an insta rage button and she'll wipe the floor with any Skrulls and ask questions later.

She had had run ins with the Kree and fought them from time to time. But for these instances, the Kree asked for it.

I love the depth it adds. Carol could turn into Karla if she stopped being neurotic and hyper-disciplined. In a way Carol's fighting herself. Just like the Warbird arc, where Carol fought and an alt-universe her. (By the way, that alt-Carol is still a prisoner somewhere). Or the Cru arc, where Carol fought an alien she's sharing her body with. Or the Spidey arc where she couldn't use her powers.

It's a very, very subtle theme in Brian Reed's run. Other writers have tried to continue it with mixed success. For example, KSD had Carol fighting a brain tumor. The most recent Captain Marvel stuff hasn't emphasized it, but we'll see where it goes. It's one of the reasons I like Carol so much: she struggles with who she is, she struggles to keep her temper and bloodlust in check, and she fears herself.

Carol's actually a pretty big deal in the history of comics, she's the first female superhero sidekick with their own independent personality who outlived the hero they were sidekicking for. DC named one of their Supergirls after her.
Unfortunately, a series of writers hated her and basically tried to write her out once and for all.
It wasn't until that The Mighty Avengers run when Carol was put in charge of the team and Tony Stark got turned into a gal Ultron that she was written as an actual superhero again.
Ever since then Marvel's been trying to write her to her fullest potential, instead of making a whole new feminism token superheroine they just dusted off the one they shelved all those years ago.
If it wasn't Carol Danvers stepping up to become Marvel's WonderWoman it would have been some brand-new female character pushed into this role.

No, you're right. DC's Trinity is a fluke of comic kismet. Nobody set out to write the three most powerful, influential, and successful superheroes the company ever had as representing three dynamic aspects of iconic heroes as well as personality. That was all just pure zeitgeist in action.
Marvel used to come close to that primary three big heroes with Captain America, IronMan, and Thor. They pretty much defined The Avengers when they worked together, but it's not the same. There's a certain grandiosity missing.
As for Cyclops and Wolverine, both are just as likely to kill each other, both are dead, and neither had the in-universe widespread respectability.

I like Busiek's work with her in Iron Man & Avengers. It's like the happy middle ground between Reed's murderCarol and DeConnick's quipCarol.

Carol Danvers resonates (or used to resonate) a lot with me, back in the early 2000, before the whole Captain thing and KSD’s reign of mediocrity (I still can’t believe I was hyped to read the new ongoing).

Some user here said that Reed’s run is about Carol constantly battling herself, she’s her own biggest enemy. And it actually goes deeper than that. Her struggle represents something way too many people go through...

Think about it: Reed’s run starts after House of M. In that reality Carol was the greatest most beloved hero of all. It was her dream, it was her full potential. She wakes up to discover that it was all an illusion, a dream. From there, she goes out of her way to please everyone and take the spotlight again.

So basically, take away all the superpowers and the aliens, and it becomes the story of a thirty-something year old that wakes up one day and realizes “Fucking hell, I wasted my entire life. I never did anything that I really wanted, and none of my dreams came true.” In that sense, it was a surprisingly more mature book than one might think.

Aside from Dark Reign, Moonstone really has nothing to do with Carol. Which is a bit off when you remember the source of their powers, but that's what it is.
