I don't know why Giffany had to be evil. I get the Yandere-ness to it but it would've subverted expectations had they made her an important series regular like Ford and Gideon. She could've helped Soos crack the computer code and the plot could've been stronger. Soos and Giffany could've both gotten character development while pushing a major plot arc forward and helping the twins and Wendy find the next clue of the author. I would've wrote the season like this:
