I genuinely like Winx Club. It's popcorn fun you can just switch off and enjoy without it making you rage because it's not trying to stuff agendas down your throat, or making your eyes roll because it's trying to be deep like a lot of US cartoons. It has actually sexy girls in skimpy outfits that don't look like potatoes because Italy doesn't give a shit if you think that's "problematic".

The QUALITY is part of the fun to me. And I think it's popular because young girls in Europe still actually like being feminine girls and animation there isn't dominated by SJWs who believe otherwise.

the first seasons was not so bad.
season 2 has some crazy episode like the Gatchman parody. and season 3 had potential.

I've nothing against Star, but that show is really popular on Cred Forums and can easily sustain its own threads.

My idea is really to combine for strength shows with smaller fanbases so we can get some discussion going without the threads being pushed off the board so easily. It might be a terrible one, but I'll try it anyway when I have more time.

It never fails to disappoint me how fucking uninspired and sameface 3D character design is. The only 3D animated shows that I can think had interesting and different character designs were Tron: Uprising and Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

I might actually have to buy the Italian DVDs, I love the original language dub so much even if I can't understand it, and the English DVDs don't include other languages. When I was on holiday in France I could watch it on Netflix in Italian with English subtitles, now I'm back in Bongland I can only get the first two seasons. It was pretty good quality too, I wish someone would rip it from there.

Same. I don't often see threads for Winx or WITCH in the catalogue, and usually mid-low replies. LR did have a thread last week that hit limit, but only after laying low for 2 months. Season 2 should give it a leg to stand on here once eps start airing, but until then probably would faire better with other Cred Forums magi girls.
There used to be joint speculation threads for LR, Miraculous Ladybug, and Star vs when they were all in production. Did well enough.

I'd go for a storytime of the comics. I think the few I've seen here were from different parts of the series. afaik Winx has comics as well but I don't know if they're their own thing or just redraws of eps like LoliRock's have been.

That's good. Hoping LR takes the separate story route with their books. Be a great way to flesh out characters/lore since broadcasters wouldn't really let them.

well, post sailor moon saw the mix in of sentai and general toku concepts. add to that the common anime rule of taking an idea and just going nuts with it.

I think this often happens in a lot of western girl's shows because one of the primary motivations is the desire to sell dolls, and it's a lot easier to have machines churning out the exact same doll bodies and just pouring in different coloured plastic.

I kinda like observing the animation far too closely to notice any tiny differences to exaggerate and headcanon (and one day work into art when I've gotten a bit better) even if they're actually animation errors.
