Not the guy you're responding to, but it's art, user. Art in inherently subjective. Schmidt does his own colors and his soft watercolor style really complements his lighter pencil style. It's similar to how fashion illustrations are done. Taken as a whole, the entire issue tends to progress beautifully from page to page. I also find his full page pieces really visually appealing. If you can't look at pic and find beauty in it, then Schmidt just frankly isn't for you. And that's fine. Like I said, it's art. Different strokes for different folks.

It depends what user reads really. Sometimes facial expressions are critical to the story, other times it's composition. What I love about comics is the variety of art that you get, and so many different people are good at different things. Compare Mobius to Sejic. Both good, but Mobius composes really amazing scenes, Sejic makes very nuanced faces.
