What are your hopes and fears for the Harley Quinn solo film?

Harley being Harley without the Joker or Ivy is weird. On her own, truly recovering, I always figured she'd try to become a normal civilian again. That's what many older comics and even the DCU went with. There's no reason for her to be a superhero, anti-villain, and especially not villain on her own.

Ignoring her criminal record, there's not much psychologically wrong with Harley besides being a domestic abuse victim. She doesn't seem to suffer from many mental problems, and even if she did that doesn't mean she should become a villain. It's the Joker's influence that makes her a criminal.

DC has had her become a civilian many times. It rarely goes wrong. She lives a normal, if maybe boring and tedious, life.

The inevitable director's cut of SS should address the relationship abuse

Deadpool worked because the actor,directors and writers were all on the same page. And the Actor wholly loved the character to that rare level where it helps more than comes off as stupid try-hard method garbage (Leto)

I want Harley Quinn to pal around with the Joker a bit more and then she goes off on her own and links up with Poison Ivy and Catwoman before being arrested again for suicide squad 2 depending on if that comes before or after

The man paid out of pocket for a few things he thought fox was fucking up with by not involving more of. Kinda helps when your main actor is so involved in the success of a movie

Without her you couldn't involve the joker which comes with the added bonus of the batman. The movie would have lost a large audience without those 2 because it would have been forced to stand on its own two feet.

I don't even know what the late game reshoots were about but that would have been a lack luster film

It depends on the medium. In some comics she's killed people, and for that she deserves a life sentence In others she hasn't.

I think that guy was making the argument that she should start to feel remorse once she's outside the influence of other criminals. Not saying it's a good argument, mind you.

In basically every continuity, she aids the Joker commit mass muder and voilende, sherarely is potrayed as being remorseful for these at all, despite being fully aware and consciously choosing to commit these abomidable acts. You only want to give her a pass because she's attractive.

Whenever people bring up the method acting thing as a way to shit on Leto I automatically tune out anything else they have to say.

First of all why do you give a flying fuck what an actor does to get I. Character? It doesn't effect you in the least.

They can do literally anything, I just hope they keep her out of Suicide Squad 2.

Harley's attitude about being a battered girlfriend was never the typical battered girlfriend story. There was never any misery on her part aside from being separated from the Joker. She never lamented her injuries or looked for a shoulder to cry on. She just had fun with Ivy and did crimes on her own with her own gangs of thugs.

That really doesn't make sense when you evaluate the type of person Harley really is. Someone who could be seduced by madness, is clearly mad themselves. She wasn't a blameless victim. She joined the Joker willingly, with open arms. It takes a special kind of crazy to do that. That's not something you walk away from like a normal civilian.

My hope is that the nips do more porn of her
