Bump

>yfw when i released that the cartoon network building in the old commercials was actually the hanna barbera studios building photoshoped

I liked the so much as a kid. To bad they can't do these anymore because of increasing commercialism.

They were fun and made you more engaged to the channel and it's characters.

Commercial-bumper-Fred is Best Fred.

Part 3
youtube.com/watch?v=yuQ9vuNUE8M

youtube.com/watch?v=D5S6Tv_AuRY&ab_channel=TheBigNicktoons

I loved these bumpers. Nothing cozier than all your favourite cartoon characters going about their business in one city, rubbing shoulders.

youtube.com/watch?v=t8iDFG6d734

One day we'll be as developed as you

I'm sorry man, but Fred's shag van is so much cooler than that mech.

The Christmas ones always made me smile.

I hate using this word but holy shit these are comfy

>Bumpworthy stopped updating
>Adult Swim doesn't put out music information
>Too slow with Music Finder apps
Fucking Adult Swim Bumps and they're good music.

I liked the old Nickelodeon claymation one

I always loved this style. Gorillaz did it too in the early 2000's. Most recent example I guess would be Gumball but BG's tend to be static with that.

youtube.com/watch?v=2mL19xFGkIo

>Diana and Aquaman looking on in horror as Scarecrow is burned alive
This NEVER gets old.

Weird, that sounded so much like Frank Welker

>that time EE&E became a communist-like movement

youtube.com/watch?v=Mie8lisgcso

...because it WAS! He's voiced Fred in every non-Pup animated Scooby Doo production since its inception. I'd love to discuss the character with him, since he's one of the few actors to play a character in both his original, played-straight version and the later, post-modern interpretations.

Soooo comfy, i wish i could go back

>the banana splits
Wait that wasn't a cartoon

>mfw he even played himself in the Family Guy parody of Fred

I disagree with the Facebook and 9gag memes that Cartoon Network "died" in 2004. 2004 wasn't the death, if anything it was their last great year.

Even though this was the year when the network changed its logo, it still managed to maintain a great year of programming with shows like Foster's season 1, peak Billy & mandy, peak KND, Duck Dogers, Megas XLR, and Star Wars: Clone Wars. It was the overlap between the best of the best of the 90s cartoons dwindling out/still getting reruns and the best of the early 2000s, before the mediocre stuff they pushed from 2005-2009. And of course, we can't forget the City bumpers.

2005-2006ish was when things were more noticeably headed towards the iceberg. But the network was still quite watchable. And 2007-2009 is when the ship hit it with CN Real and retarded shows like Johnny Test, Total drama island, and chowder.

>retarded shows
>chowder

>I'm the Joka babee=!
He voiced that version in a flashback in the clown episode of WNSD
He voiced every broadcast version of him.

I always wanted to live in CN City as a kid, the closest I've ever really come to this is playing the Courage and EEnE maps on Gmod in VR.
CN City would be the best Gmod map that could happen, bar none.

>Chowder
>retarded
youtu.be/nGb-2oVDWXk

If you were in charge of making Cartoon Network City into its own show, who would you choose to be the main cast?
Hardmode: Each character must be from a different show.
Extreme mode: 5 character. Max.

That was probably its biggest strength. I started watching Samurai Jack just because of the one where hes talking to Johnny Bravo.

I'm surprised they never made a game or movie in that city setting.
FusionFall was the closest we ever got, but it wasn't even half as comfy as it should've been.

There were those RPG games where you interacted and traded with CN character to get items you needed to fix shit.

Yeah, but weren't those on a beach or something? Something where you could go to all the places they showed like the Plank themed hardware store and see all the characters roaming the city would've been cool as fuck.

>It's another 'member thread

If you guys want a CN City sequel so much, why don't you stop waxing nostalgia about it and actually make one?

>Why don't you go out and get sued by a gigantic corporation that can and will ruin your entire life?
Are you retarded?

Double D, Samurai Jack, Coop, Scooby-Doo, and The Mayor

Anyone else miss megas xkr ? We're never gonna get another ever.

>All that teasing Valve did
>It was all for nothing
Fuck Gabe.

Anyone know if they can find the old bumper where Fred Flintstone, Chicken from Cow & Chicken, and someone I forgot are in a carpool and they're trying to find a parking spot?

That, or the one of a regular guy (live action) living in Townsville?(the only part of it I remember is him being mugged by the Gangrene Gang)

D-dont worry user. Valve is just working on vive to make an immersive Megas XLR videogame where you... Ahh who am I kidding. Fuckin Gabe, he's probably just like Jamie in pic related.

If Valve did make a fully immersive Megas XLR VR game where the buttons randomly change whenever you look away that actually played well I would completely forgive them for all the shit they've done to avoid releasing HL3.

Me too. And don't get me wrong, I stay away from the videogame board, but growing up I freakin loved half life and left for dead games and tf2. I also freakin loved Megas. I remember first watching the short before it became a tv show. Damn, I don't even play vidya anymore, but I'd be ready to sell me left nut for a Vive and a VR Megas XLR videogame. That'd be fucking amazing. I'm in my 20s now I wouldn't care what people think, it was a great show. Cars, rock music, Guy Fieri, qt alien girls, and fuckin giant robots.

Pic unrelated

How was fusion fall? I never played it, but I can remember commercials for it.

It was boring.

The best bump

youtube.com/watch?v=h97Pa-SQ0RQ

So funny to me

Funny. This one was funny to me since I remember seeing it on TV while I was watching with my mom. Kek.
youtube.com/watch?v=P1CX9DC3tXg

Cred Forums manages to be even less creative and disciplined than Cred Forums, so the result would be only a stillborn trainwreck like Broquest times eleven.

Too bad. It looked so cool back then.

This. I loved this about it so much. It was great.

That's literally the easier bumper to find user.

You're clearly very lazy.

I'm suprised that Hanna Babera characters didn't show up in FusionFall at all?

And why no Big O? Doesn't Cartoon Network own the rights to it? It never even showed up in the City when Speed Racer of all things managed to show up so many times before.

bumping for nostalgia, and because I hate being grown up

Same. These bumpers take me back, broski.

>Bump for the bumpers
>Carlos.jpg

>there was a time when it was shocking to see the mystery gang break character

holy shit, how did they get away with this

youtube.com/playlist?list=PLEAAC182966AE4A81

Is 189 of them enough?

Fuck those Gameboy commercials

That kids first fap must have been to Tara Strong pictures

>Whats your piece of woods name

Fucking double dee trying to suck Ugh off in the elevator, on his first day no less. I always knew there was something up with him

This promo is so good. They don't do stuff like this anymore, where they dedicate animation resources to a short promo. Usually it's just stock clips from the show with different lines about whats being promo'd, and really shitty lip sync.

Also one of 2 or maybe 3 times there was a new character shown on screen in Ed Edd n Eddy.

"Dear old Papa Smurf. Corrupted by his own power. CAN NO LEADER GO UNTAINTED?!"

>mfw I still use that replacing the name as needed
>mfw no one will ever get it

Here's the Townsville one. It's fantastic.
youtube.com/watch?v=14uDR_lbNGM

It was Wise Papa Smurf.

Fucking loved those games. Still occasionally play them now, when I can find them.

>That old Mario "Got Milk" commercial
>Cartoon Theater
>That N'Sync watch commercial
It's probably just nostalgia but I swear they used to put more work into what they were advertising in commercials and Networks with Promos.

>Who the fuck is Gus I don't want to play as a cactus let me play as Johnny Bravo: The Game

I miss when Cartoon Network was a massive pool of literal hundreds of characters.

So, they did try to do one again after all
youtu.be/iMKl6fcIxvg

Seems lazier and a bit soulless, also that excuse for a "background" is unforgivable

>That shitty background

I just got it fampai

Hanna Barbera is such a unique part of pop culture and so is that era of Cartoon Network that only had that library of cartoons to work with. The only piece of it that remains is society's weird eternal reverence for Scooby Doo.

problem is CN right now has like 5 cartoons so a CN city wouldn't be as fun to see

Maybe they could use their entire history of shows, have a bunch of the old ones as background characters and anyone that wants to return to voice their character can have speaking roles in them.
Then you throw in the newer characters and have them all interacting in the city.
Sounds like it could be fun to me.

>The only piece of it that remains is society's weird eternal reverence for Scooby Doo.

Nothing weird about it homeboy.

I agree with both of you anons. But Hanna-Barbera doesn't get the appreciation it deserves. Good thing grown ass men who love cartoons likes us exist. Alas... Cred Forums self pity meet up when?

At least they tried

Does anyone have the hippe one

Loved the bumpers.

No I agree. They don't make like they used to.

Try never. Any time an online group tries to meet up in person (Cred Forums, reddit, tumblr) it's a fucking unmitigated disaster of mediocrity, awkward silence and embarrassing moments that often wind up on cringe compilations.

All these reasons are exactly why I would never go to a Cred Forums meetup. Plus, why would you ever actually want to be associated with this website? It's social cancer.

I was joking about that. Didn't you are where I wrote it's a "self pity" meet up?

"What's a jalopy?"

lmgtfy.com/?q=jalopy

Like how they were celebrating their anniversary and had newer shows interacting with the older ones?

...

No. I want the new ones too

Chowder was retarded

Gloriously retarded in season 1, and just retarded in seasons 2 and 3

It's kinda weird since Scooby Doo and all of it's clones are terrible

lol that's brilliant

Daphne is a pedo confirmed?

Should've watched OP video, user. I was quoting what Jamie was saying to Coop.

Well not exactly what comes to mind, but more because of the double D joke.

Toon city was way too good for what it was. I don't even think I cared for it back when I was a kid but looking at toon town and even those old bumbers and groovies now can only be described as comfy.

youtube.com/watch?v=r_1G0iWgGis

Literally impossible to watch this and not be relaxed

>Me and my friends get no respect
>What does Scooby do that we neglect?
>We be puttin all of our foes in check
>But me and my friends get no respect

(No, not the Cred Forums sings version either)

youtube.com/watch?v=Vn1pf0Xi3nU

I loved the songs! These were some of the greatest parts of Cartoon Network's gold days next to the shows themselves.

>SOLOMON GRUNDY WANT PANTS TOO

guys, remember this one?

>some guy calls ugh to take double d to the recording section
>ugh kicks dexter
>ugh drops a guy holding multiple tapes while quickdraw and benny from top cat are playing vidyas
>ugh hits professor utonium with his club
>fred, chicken and thundarr appears in the elevator
>double d talks with ugh inside the elevator
>ugh and edd arrived to the recording section
>the guy asks to ugh to fix the microphone stand that johnny bravo broke it
>ugh makes an angry expression, he runs away and he suddenly hits bravo (probably)

Yup. Someone posted that one already. These bumpers were the best.

youtube.com/watch?v=c2EKZ4J5t4c
god im glad i got to appreciate this time in american animation

youtube.com/watch?v=bb5IkWHfBgY

Poor Ugh.

was there a Cred Forums sings for the Fridays theme

Don't think so. Just the one for jabberjaw.
We need to do one again, but with the Ed Edd Eddy song incredible shrinking day.

wow you actually got real girls to sing along too. I'm so proud of you Cred Forums

youtube.com/watch?v=_IcY7PA1I08

>NO SHOES
>NO SERVICE
>NO PANTS

This was probably one of my favorite bumpers from back then

in the latin american version
fred mistakes papa smurf with popeye

Always my fucking favorite

youtu.be/eGQEAiZJMco

I JUST WANT A DECENT PAIR OF PANTS

Holy shit, nothing could more encapsulate what cartoons have become

This.

These were okay until the last two had johnny test characters. Those aren't HB or CN Originals, what the fuck?

CAN NO LEADER GO UNTAINTED?!?

>mid to late 90s CN where half their line up was old Hanna Barbera cartoons
I miss it

>those quiet shots of the city covered in snow
Comfy as fuck

powerhouse and city were so good
each had their strengths imo
we'll never see anything like that again on tv
maybe on the internet if someone gets the passion

I'd replace Coop with somebody more recent yet similarly shaped:

Greg Universe.

Everybody else I'd choose would be the same on that list though.
