I mean, via Paheal, I've seen so much shit that's great that says the source is Tumblr, but I don't directly look for anything on the site.

I'm sorry to say I'm too tired to know what the other logo is, is it Patreon or something? I've been there a few times.

That other logo is Deviantart

Oh damn, then no way. Tumblr ends up turning out the most content I find by other sites that I like.

Aside from "haha cringe" I don't think I've seen any deviantart pictures at all on any other site (like this one) and I don't go there directly ever.

Why not both?

Tumblr is so much better for sharing it's not even funny. Sure, for portafolio DA's structure works well, but as a social media to present your art (especially thanks to the tag system) it's easier for people to see you. DA is like good ol' capitalism that only makes the rich richer.

A few real artists have Deviant Arts and they're at better quality than tumblr because tumblr apparently has some ridiculous restraints.
However it's behind some walls.
I'm sure there's a better site than both but they're just not fortunate enough to literally be a social media site

I kind of preferred Deviantart. Tumblr feels even more impersonal, you never get any comments or shit, just faggots reblogging stuff the majority of the time.
Granted 'that's cool!!!' or 'So cute, I love it' weren't exactly great, but it was something.

I miss Dobson.

Tumblr.

Mostly because I like posting my own stuff better there. (pic related) and because there are more artists I like on there.

I actually prefer the DA structure. Everything bad about DA is basically a product of trying to make it more social media-y. Because barebones, functional gallery sites aren't as profitable as "this is your life now" sites.

He had kinda an inflated ego.

This is what I was saying, there's not going to be a popular art gallery site because it'd just be artists passing around their stuff, it's easier to get passed arpimd on Tumblr because normal people can just pop by and look at your shit and link it for others to see. Closest competitor is probably Pinterest and that appears to be more about leading you away than having an internal sharing like Tumblr does.

Tumblr.
It's easy to traverse, at least for me, and just about every drawfag I've seen uses it. Though, it can resizes the image.

Tumblr is great for exposure but it's actually fucking terrible as an image uploading site simply because it's primarily for phones and it was never meant to be something for art blogs in the first place.

Deviantart is better in terms of just better image resolutions and no bullshit limitations on what you upload, and in general just much better organization services, but it's basically all but dead.

>it's not even funny.
jesus christ, fuck off

Tumblr.

It's easier to find art that is both new and of good quality when I search a term (Search something on Deviantart and you'll either get good shit that's seven years old or garbage posted yesterday). I like logging in and seeing a dashboard full of porn I mean good art. I used to think it was a good place for posting weird porn, but it turns out that some artist get the short end of the stick and get harrased for posting porn that's controversial. None of the artists I follow seem to suffer from this thankfully.

Tumblr's layout is just better as well, so whenever an artist has both a Deviantart and a Tumblr, I disregard the Deviantart and go for the Tumblr.

Of course, Tumblr has it's flaws. Resizing images, artists getting false reports, artists getting harrased by SJWs, artist BEING the SJWs, artists reblogging too much shit on their art blogs (get a personal blog you dip!), but I still prefer it to DA.

>Tumblr
>Easy to traverse
It's literally the most badly formatted site I've ever used, plus it's incredibly buggy and slow

DeviantArt, easily

>Sure, for portafolio DA's structure works well, but as a social media to present your art (especially thanks to the tag system) it's easier for people to see you. DA is like good ol' capitalism that only makes the rich richer.

How do we fix deviantart, Cred Forums?

Allow porn?

Is porn not allowed? I thought it just needed a sign in. But basically just allow it to be a good gallery site with fewer restrictions.
Like I said the issue of popularity is it can't bring in a lot of normies since it's just for art.

You mean following artists or using it for uploading your art?

It only allows nudity, no hardcore, no maturbation, nothing like that. And you only need to punch in a legal age to acess nudity, you could sign in if you wanted to, but you don't have to.

Then yeah porn it up.
Maybe just make some special blocks to prevent kids from "wandering in by accident"

Even when putting aside the fact that both have an awful userbase, both are pretty shitty.

Deviantart is a bloated piece of shit, and Tumblr is too unstructured since the whole setup is primarily meant for blogs, not art collections.

Overally I prefer Deviantart for looking at the work of other artists and Tumblr for actually posting stuff since it's slightly more user-friendly, but neither of them beats having your own site.

that's some good shit. Link?

Neither, you have to wade through immense about of cringy shit on both to get anything good.

why not choose?
I actually have the same amount of followers on both, around 600

Donmai
Artstation
Webtoon
Pixiv
/ic/

Deviant.

Don't get them ideas. Artstation is stable for quality now, but if fucking idiots start posting their shit the whole purpose of the site goes into the toilet

>cringy shit on both
That's why I installed xkit to allow only uploads and not reblogs to appear on my dashboard while filtering shitty tags

None.
The SJW cesspool vs the Politically incorrect site.

come the fuck on

guess i should've expected shills in a "tumblr is my favorite site" thread though

yeah my fault. I always forgot Google is my friend.

That doesn't invalidate the idea that Tumblr is way easier tho.

>Pixiv
Eh, Pixiv's pretty much Japanese Deviantart but somewhat worse, and you can post actually porn there. It's harder to find good stuff because you can't seach by popularity without paying, and you have to hunt down Japanese words to get more results when you search for things. When you do search for stuff, a lot of it is of low quality. The easier method to find good art directly on the site is even the same as Deviantart's: click on the first relatively good picture you see, then go through the related section.

You can avoid most of that trouble but not actually using Pixiv and hopping on a Booru instead.

I find it far more difficult to get attention on tumblr. You basically have to sit around and hope someone with a load of followers reblogs you, and even then you're not likely to get any new followers out of it.

I guess he needs to use trigger warnings next time. Dont worry, I'm sure he will censor himself for you.

>good ol' capitalism that only makes the rich richer
I don't have a smug enough anime girl reaction picture

Again, I add "for me". Tumblr has its problems that make it annoying, but it's easier than trying to find stuff through DeviantArt, again, for me.

sadly neither

I agree with the poster who is in favor of dA groups. I have simultaneously posted the same work on both websites, one of them I spammed it to shit tons of groups and the other I tried to tag where I can (There is a limit for how many tags will actually show up) and after a few years, dA wins by a fucking mile. Even with fanart, Tumblr is still hard to get followers from scratch because the user has no real control over trying to spread their art. Once it's posted, if it doesn't do well within a day, they'll just end up sitting around hoping someone popular reblogs that piece to get attention.

And what's worse? You can like/reblog someone's work without once going to the person's original fucking account. So while you may get like, 10k notes on some piece, you may only get a couple of followers because most people will have liked or reblogged that piece from the already popular user. At least dA forces you to go to the original image link and has "Also Check Out!" thumbnails on the side of your other work.

I have no idea why people migrated to Tumblr, it's fucking horrendous for hosting art unless you're one of those hardcores who hires someone to create a custom layout for you in lieu of a website. But even then, you can't just get any coder, you NEED to get someone who understand Tumblr's coding language. Also:

>Image size limits @ 10MB
>Gif width and size limits
>Photosets cap at 10
>The comment system comes and goes like the seasons
>No proper gallery organizing system
>No way to organize your likes
>No organizaed notification system, if you get comments on your work just hope to God you don't miss them among the stack of everything else
>Unable to properly delete a post because once it's reblogged, it's reblogged and there's no way to fully take it down

If I could throw all the Tumblr servers into a void and force people to return back to dA, I fucking would.

Pixiv
Artstation

Sure !
appleserum.tumblr.com/

Fuck off shill.

Pixiv is still literally the best place to go for japanese art, what the fuck are you talking about?
Twitter is the only other good place for Japanese art/porn.

A lot of good Japanese art, comes from there, but it's not so fun trying to find the good art yourself for the reasons I posted. So I usually just use Gelbooru.

I was mainly comparing to Deviantart because finding quality stuff is tedious.

Tumblr. Easily Tumblr. The site may be full of some of the most obnoxious people i've ever seen, but it host the best artist and it's about 10/1 on how many good pictures you see compared to shitty ones.

Deviantart is pure cancer where it's hard as fuck to find good art because the shitty children that use it like shitty art. Saying the tagging system is a mess is like saying Hitler made the Toothbrush Mustache slightly unpopular. Just go on it and click on Traditional art and see what pops up.

>A statue
>Some graffiti
>A girl wearing lipstick
>A girl wearing makeup
>A girl doing a pose on chalk art on the sidewalk

Digital art is much better, but shit will still get through that doesn't belong there.

Boorus are all shit though, and it isn't that hard to use a translator for the right search terms and then search through art that's list by upload date.

The mobile site is garbage though, but then when aren't they?

>low quality
Wait, are we still comparing it with deviantart?

...

>DA is like good ol' capitalism that only makes the rich richer
Commie detected,
I have

tumblr has better porn

Now you're just blowing things out of proportion. I feel deflated.

> but it's not so fun trying to find the good art yourself for the reasons I posted.
How? You don't browse each page 1 by 1?
That's literally the best part about it.

I've gotten far more work through Tumblr than I ever have from DeviantArt. Both communities are equally terrible and I wouldn't recommend either site for socializing. But as a general art dump, it's a lot easier to establish yourself with a Tumblr account.

That deviantart logo is so fucking shit.

and worse.
the site itself is "dead"

Pixiv.
But between those 2, tumblr.

Tumblr has retarded limits on file size that make even Cred Forums cry.

it's only dead because everyone moved to tumblr for some fucking bizarre reason

Youre a great artist user
Wanna do a superhero comic together

Everyone except the weird mentally unstable artists.

this

>the weird mentally unstable artists
No those are the ones that went to tumblr in the first place.

Except those mentally unstable artists went to Tumblr first.

I heard that when you sign up on DeviantArt that images you post on there are actually owned by the website not by you,
As part of the Terms and Conditions that nobody reads and just accepts.

Well, Tumblr uses its website to promote SJW.

Sure why not. Reach me on my tumblr.

lmao

it's true though

No I mean the ones that do weird fetish art

Yeah you're right, there's no weird fetish art on Tumblr, no sir...

The Tumblr and dA fanbase are one in the same, people on dA migrated to Tumblr so now the only ones left from dA are people with Sonic OCs and Naga preggo art. But that doesn't mean Tumblr doesn't have those things, it just means so many people ditched dA that those are the only ones left.

Otherwise, they're literally the same people who just moved from one site to the other. DeviantArt's userbase didn't fall off a cliff, they literally became Tumblr.

Both have their good and their utter garbage.

>tfw DA is literally dead
>tfw tumblr's search function went from bearable to shit in only 1 month
>furaffinity is still shit
>Twitter is an unorganized mess
>only Pixiv is good
What the fuck happened?

Hey man, at least on Tumblr I can look up something without finding a shitton of inflation art and vore on the front page.

Two words. Skull Fucking.

Pom Pom > Baile

DA by far. Tumblr is a nightmare to search since it doesn't group things like a gallery, but treats them more like blogposts.

Tumblr is a user-interface disaster.

Tumblr. While the layout is a godawful nightmare that gets worse with each "update", you can easily come across more obscure artists that aren't on DA nor Twitter. Pic related.

Well, we are Cred Forumsmrades aren't we?

japanese artists on tumblr are the only good things about that pos site

Tumblr.
But if you want to see more good art in general, Pixiv or Booru

We sure are.

>arts
So, you mean fetish art? In that case I'll go with Tumblr, but Pixiv and the boorus are miles better.

They're both awful honestly.

Tumblr artifacts the shit out of big art and is awful for actually having a nice looking gallery and DA is the place where they'll make money from your art and you get none of it.

Pixiv is best but doesn't need any more shitty western artists shitting it up.

Tumblr has memory leaking problems and is generally a chore to search through if you're not looking at a single artist.
