Does anybody have the screen cap of the post where someone explains why Syndrome actually WAS in the wrong? I know there's the argument that he was making everyone equal, but the screen cap refutes it pretty well.

Can't you just do it yourself?

Not screencap your post but literally type it and save it somewhere. It's pretty obvious why he was in the wrong other than the movie telling you he was in the wrong.

10 buckaroonies it was a cryptolibertarian rant.

He was planning on selling the tech for loads of money meaning only the rich could get it, therefor people where still not equal. It's pretty simple

He didn't do anything wrong, he was just following his dreams

>why was this murderer in the wrong?

Also he was only selling weapons technology much too dangerous for the average person to handle

COMMUNISM IS BAD AND DOG EATS DOG, GET REDPILLED

whatever

Thanks.

Yeah well cell phones usedto be military shit and then for rich people and now even homeless people have smartphonesso fuck you

None of this would have happened had he realized he WAS a super; he was a Tinker.

The whole thing is muddled by the fact that the movie gave the impression that all the supers were heroes and all the villains were lex luthor/mad scientist/thematic tech gimmick types.

that's uh... okish?

Just screencap broseph

>super heroes EARNED the gifts that they happened to be born with, allowing normal people to have such gifts is COMMUNISM and communism is EVIL
>checkmates SJW'S

Reasons Syndrome was in the wrong:
1) Murder.
2) Attempted Murder.
3) Kidnapping.
4) Torture.
5) Endangering the public.

Did I miss anything?

6) His character design is hideous, evoking Buzz Lightyear, Vegeta, and a circus clown simultaneously.

Doesn't explain it well enough

He was in the wrong because this retard was super himself. He invented rocket boots at 10 years old and super advanced robots capable of overpowering super heroes 15 years later.

>when everyone is super, no one will be
It's basically socialism

Hate to break it to you, Che, but socialism is taking away shit from people who have it, not giving shit to people who don't.

Please read a book

Counterpoint: He was voiced by Jason Lee

he's not evil because he wants to make everyone equal he's evil because he's killing off heroes and siccing monsters on people because he wants fame.

It's basically both of those things combined m80

thats still not equality

Man peter's a fucking dumbass

...

Counterpoint: Jason Lee is a wackadoo scientologist..

Yeah I remember killing a whole bunch of people with my cellphone. Would've killed more if another person with a cellphone didn't stop me.

Reminds me of this.

Ironically you don't get more John Galt than Syndrome. A self made man and rich capitialist inventor.

The message was really muddled and shit though. If superheroes are causing lots of property damage and that goes away when they go away maybe there are some issues tthere. Basically Watchmen did it much better. I liked Incredibles but not for its message.

Counterpoint: As of today, not anymore.

all the murder

I always read it as heroes get the blame for the worse disasters they averted. without capes there's no collateral there's just damage

Anyone got the screw cap of why Jafar wasn't such a bad dude after all? It pointed out how incompetent the Sultan was, how Jasmine was insulting other kingdoms and her refusal to choose a husband could throw the entire area into a power struggle, how it was perfectly legal for him to have an arranged marriage with Jasmine and how Prince Ali came from a place he'd never heard of and acted like a commoner and how Jafar would be as good as dead as soon as Jasmine came into power? It was a good screencap, I regret not saving it.

Stop.

He could just demonstrate his power.

That part when he sent a giant killer robot into a populated city.

>When I'm done having my fun, no one else will be able to have my fun!

Why do people get so hung up on that quote? He just wanted to make it so no one ever felt special for having super powers/super gadgets. It's not even a plan, just him being childish.

Do we really need an explanation of why he's evil? Don't his actions speak for them selves?

>Murder
>Weapons dealing
>Shooting down a plane with children on board
>Attacking a populous city with a giant murder bot.
>attempted kidnapping

How the fuck can anyone question whether or not he's the bad guy?

7) Wearing a cape.

That's not wrong, it's just fucking stupid.

You're buying into Edna's circumstantially validated mantra, user. There's nothing stupid about wearing a cape unless you're a flier and end up near a turbine. He should have ditched the cape every time he took to the skies.

Well it's clear he learned NOTHING from the time Bomb Voyage tried to kill him by sticking a bomb to it.

Also he had it worse than Stratogale, at least she was killed instantly when she got pulled in, if Syndrome hadn't tried to save himself his death would have been pretty painless.

>How the fuck can anyone question whether or not he's the bad guy?

The " DID NOTHING WRONG" crowd is very real, and very, very retarded.

They tend to confuse the fact that moral ambiguity exists with absolving everyone of any responsibility for their wrongdoings. They forget that just because morals aren't absolute doesn't mean that people can't perform indefensible, wrong actions.

Pretty interesting development, considering he was a straight motherfucker to people in the past on behalf of the Church, including his own ex-wife. I wonder what kind of fallout he'll suffer

He literally said "Once I'm old and I've had my fun, I'll GIVE my inventions away to everyone, so everyone can be super. And when everyone's super, no one will be."

Yes, initially, he will sell some inventions, and keep the most advanced to himself, but eventually he'd give them away for nothing.

Funny thing is that syndrome was absolutely a super. He definitely had super intelligence and could have been an iron man-esque hero.

Except the actual quote is, "And once I'm old and I've had my fun, I'll SELL my inventions, so everyone can be superheroes".

>give everyone on the planet superpowers
>suddenly there are billions of potential supervillians in the world

also, giving everyone superpowers wouldn't automatically make everyone equal in every way, people would still be different, they'd just be different but with superpowers

He murdered a lot of super heroes to test out his inventions.
He attempted to murder Bob and his family.
He was willing to put the public in dangerous situations just to make himself look better.

the heroes were getting sued for damage from the horrible events they stopped. More than likely there were times when collateral damage couldn't have been avoided all together, only minimalized, and they were still getting sued for it

Why did he call himself Syndrome? Isn't that like calling yourself Cancer?

Now that's a good question.

He was kidnapping people and using them as test fodder for his giant robot, which he planned to use to manufacture atrocities and jerk his own ego.

Like, I know this is Cred Forums, but are you fucking kidding me?

Cred Forums relates to him way too much it seems.

Worm is awesome.

>A self made man and rich capitialist inventor.
Y'know, if Buddy is really bitter about being rejected, why didn't he just drive up to Bob's house in his Hummer-limo, knock on the door and piss on his porch, all the while Bob can't do shit because of the forcefield?

Like, dude. There are easier ways of getting revenge. There's no need whatsoever to be a supervillain about this.

This. Anyone else in this thread who doesn't understand is retarded.

Doing that will probably get him onto the sexual predator registry since there are kids in the house. He would have had a harder time in jail then than he did now after murdering a shitload of people.

No idea what you're talking about, but no, he wasn't making everybody equal. He was trying to make "everybody" powerful, but only on the basis of how much they could pay. He wasn't intending to just give away this power - so even among those who could pay (which you have to assume would be a minority to cover his massive costs, unless he was also offering knock-down micropower ranges) there would be massive inequality. It's just a basic fact of market economies that equality exists.

If he were talking about giving everybody identical powers - or non-identical but equivalent powers where no stratification or bias was likely to occur as a result of receiving them - he'd still be in the wrong, because he'd be forcibly altering people according to his own design in order to fulfill his own wish.

I mean OP actually needed this spelled out for him, but OK, let's pretend it's not a thread likely to attract retards.
